В своей песни он передает страдание которое причинили его народу репрессии коммунистического режима. Спасибо вам большое дорогие Казахи за то, что вы воспитываете своих детей любить свою нацию и свое старшее поколение, которое испытало всю несправедливость коммунистического режима. И спасибо вам за великолепный талант нашего любимого Димаша, которого вы воспитали и взрастили в правильном духе великого и мирового артиста, сына своей родины. Я горжусь вами Казахи.

Привет, друзья! Спасибо за реакцию! Бастау - первый большой сольный концерт Димаша на Родине после блестящего выступления на конкурсе в Китае. Это было 27.06.2017. , 35 тысяч зрителей. Было много поклонников, специально приехавших из-за рубежа. Димашу только исполнилось тогда 23 года. Эмоций было через край: и у зрителей, и у Димаша. This song is terribly heartbreaking. You should tune into Gloria Wu's channel to see the backstory. He performed this song on The Singer. The lyrics were by a Kazakh poet arrested and sentenced to death as a dissident during Stalin's (I think) regime. Someone "mistakenly" told him that his wife had left him, and he wrote this poem to her that is now a national folk song. Guys you make me cry 😭 Daididau was written by a Kazakh writer, poet, scientist and a teacher Magzhan Zhumabayev (1893-1938). During the oppression Magzhan Zhumabayev was arrested and sent to prison. At prison, he was announced that his wife, the only love in his life, had left him. It broke his heart, and he wrote this song about his love and the great sorrow that he had then. Eventually it turned out that his wife never left him and they were reunited in 1936, when he was released from prison. Unfortunately, their happiness did not last long, he was again arrested and executed in 1938 as an enemy of the state. The author expressed his feelings to his wife, when he thought that they never be together again. He called her Daididau.

Great reaction Boys, to a truly amazing performance by Dimash. Bastau was Dimash's first solo concert after the "Singer" series. He had become so popular in the "Singer" series that 45,000 people from all over the world turned up. The Bastau concert was sponsored by the Kasakhistan government as they could see that this was a major opportunity to promote their country and it's culture throughout the world. Dimash has become an icon, so when he sang "Daididau" one the most important songs culturelly, no expense was spared. The musicians behind him playing traditional instraments, we're his friends and teachers from his music college. How would this performance go down at the "Superbowl" boys??? 😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍

This song is very special to Dimash. He sang it at Singer 2017, after which he cried backstage, saying that it had always been his dream to introduce Kazakh folk songs to the world. This performance was back home in Astana, and he brought 100 dombra players to play along. He performed it at his New York concert, and this time we were ready for it. We all memorized the chorus. When Dimash pointed the microphone at the audience, and this international crowd all sang in Kazakh, Dimash just could not stop his tears. It was quite a moment.

Did you notice his inner ear pieces were not working and he STILL pulled off a perfect performance? It took me a long time to notice it but you will see him with only one in, then he removes the second one and points to it trying to get someone to fix it but he never even attempted to put it back in. Just incredible.

Daididau is one of my favorites from Dimash and I recommend you to listen to more kazakh folk songs sung by Dimash because they are all very beautiful. I know about 25 of them. They are all worth listening. :)

You could honestly react to the entire Bastau concert (or every song from the Bastau concert) and the Dear would not be upset! This was his first large-scale solo concert (propelled by the fame he gained through I Am Singer earlier that year). It took place in the capital of his home country. This concert has the best version of a number of his songs; that's why the Dears always recommend songs from this concert! This is a traditional Kazakh song with a very sad background as other commenters have explained. The instrument they are playing at the beginning is a dombra. It is a signature Kazakh instrument and is taught to Kazakh children. The first song, "Adai," is a signature song on the dombra that every Kazakh dombra player learns. I believe the flute you hear is a sybyzgy (also seen in the beginning of "Hello" on I Am Singer). Bonus info, I think the woman in the middle is playing a jetigen.
