Lol I still watch those grainy homemade videos of Dime jamming on the couch by himself gettin his pull on till this day. Dude was a sweet, funny, down to earth guy.
Those that said Dimebag didn’t have a great tone are usually the ones who were dialing in their amps in search of a brutal and distinctive tone, found it to their great excitement, only to realize in their envy that they dialed in the Dimetone.
These are great guitars, and can be upgraded. I got a dean from hell and immediately put an original Floyd it. There was no need though, as I recycled the Floyd special in another build, and it's a great trem after setting it up properly. These black and silver stealth models are among my favorite dime models. Awesome guitar man.

That year requires you to string it backwards. You're supposed to pull the strings through the topof the tuners, the lock it down. Then you need to up D the high E string. This helps balance the backwards stringing.

All the Dime signature guitars were beautiful, but crap build quality...Washburn and Deans. It would have been cool if someone with a little more quality behind their name built them.
I'd clear the dots, replacing with skulls and not butterflies, and I'd tear off that Washburn meme that has became as pretty as old at Black Jack. Namastè.
Use detoxit and spray your pots. The crackle sound will go away just work in the oil move the volume back and forth. Or just change your old pots out. Not hard just a bit of soldering.
Dang pizza sounds hella good! Love that guitar man Dimebag was the GOAT and I love every single Dimebag guitar wether it's Washburn or Dean they all kick ass although I lean a little more to the Washburns because of the build quality.
That would be a good idea. I actually forgot to mention I put a new strap location on the bottom side of where the fret board meets the body. You can see it if you watch closely. That location has made balance perfect for standing 🤘
I don't think that Floyd is total junk, its usable when properly setup. That said, I dropped an OFR in my Chinese ML (original sunburst model). These are good guitars.
I own one of these... and I've had alot of the parts snap on me... so far I've had to replace the locking nut... snapped in half when I tried to lock it down... the string locking inserts inside the bridge all snapped, and the Trem Block has recently stripped away and needs replacing... All hardware on these are super low quality except for the tuners... but they look cool! I always though they were made in Korea, but it makes more sense these were made in China cause of the quality... I heard Dime said these import Stealths were only good as door stoppers! :P
I have a Floyd special on my schecter and I honestly cannot saying anything bad about it. Can confidently say it’s never gone out of tune. Plays wonderfully. Feels just like any other Floyd. I have another guitar with a special and it’s absolutely shit. Doesn’t stay in tune, feels like shit, looks like shit, it clicks when you use the whammy and that goes through the amp and sounds like fuck. Guess it just depends idk.
Hi bro, I have the same guitar. I bought it brand new in 2005. It did sound muddy, dark and thin so I quickly changed the pickups and the pots. It was a bit better. Recently I changed the Floyd for a Schaller, the guitar sound way better since.
accounted for inflation paying 700 bucks 18 years ago is like paying 2000 bucks now, so even if the guitar is going for over 1000 when you account for inflation you are making a loss
Mine has been unfortunately sitting in its case for years, and I completely forgot it had this weird string through setup on the saddles. I agree, the original pickups sucked, so I upgraded mine with the Kerry King EMG 81 / 85 kit. Looks like I am going to be saving up for an original Floyd or Schaller to put into this beast. It'll only make it more bad ass :) Enjoy the axe dude!
Hey man you are putting the strings in wrong. You gotta cut the extra smaller pieces off the ends and put the strings in backwards. You lock the strings in with the little blocks.
Unfortunately this cheap licensed Floyd doesn't have the locking blocks in the bridge. It is designed the way I showed in the video. Someday I will replace it with a real system that locks at the bridge

It was just a plugin. Bias fx2 with one of the mesa amps, I think it was the mark v. I used an overdrive in front and an eq rack after the cab. The eq was the biggest factor in my opinion
bro trust me those 500ks make all the difference, i had a schecter hellraiser that had some bare knuckle hum buckers and it sounded awful until i switched the pots
Always wanted a Dean/ washburn dime as a teen, but sadly didnt have the money. Growing up now that i have money sadly there arent much of those out there on the market anymore :( The ones on reverb are extremely overpirced.
@@bhance1988 dean did announce a “artist inspired” models coming out sometime, they announced in the recent namm event. They are bringing the slime ML back but ofcourse different pickups, id totally get my hands on that when it launches.

Yeah, but I recently resolved the issue by simply tightening the neck screw bolts. There is only 2 when most bolt ons are 4. Not the best design but it works haha!
I'm a massive dime fan and loved his tone..BUT dime made his tone to suit well for the band as a whole..when jamming by himself alot of the uniqueness came from his hands but when couples woth his brother and rex his sound was skyrocketed to monster heights.

I actually did replace the nut a while ago. It was a cheap one and messed my action and tone up bad. I took it off and put the original back on for now. Could be a great guitar with all them upgrades. Would be fun to a/b 250k to 500k pots and hear how much of a difference
