Dimensional Analysis combines word problems with unit conversion and for many students they have never made sense. If this is you then please watch this video. I'll explain the concept of how to decipher word problems and how to identify unit conversion terms found within. Still confusing too much thinking. Maybe you can try reverse.. start with the Answer and work Backward to Known Given, logically without thinking

You could map out your units from the answer to the given. Really my biggest approach to doing my teaching style or videos is try to teach students how to critically think through problems. It is one of the biggest issues that we generally face. So, I like to go through my thought process to try to instill an idea of how to approach and think through a problem. Rather than just give a walkthrough that doesnt really explain how to really do it on your own. If that makes sense? Especially being that this is generally meant for the college level.

An easier way to explain Dimensional Analysis….. Using your example…. ? min = 405 miles given…. 72miles = 1hr 72 miles/1hr = 1 = 1hr/72 miles 60min = 1hr 60min/1hr = 1 = 1hr/60min ?min = 405miles x (1) x (1) ?min = 405miles x (1hr/72miles) x (60min/1hr) = 337.5min
