22:50 I think Wizards agrees. Part of their plan for "revitalizing standard" article was to design more mechanical throughlines for the sets so decks would be more "UB Demons", "UG Food" and less "Color Goodstuff"
Beating Gruul Prowess by decking them, swinging for two less than lethal, and then Unholy pinging for two is probably the most FU thing I’ve ever seen on Arena
I remember when almost everybody reviewing the cards from Duskmourne said Doomsday Excrutiator is a terrible card that noone is going to play. How the turns have tabled
I floodpit drowner'ed a guy to death with his archfiend of the dross lol. Him desperately digging for a way to kill his own creature was hilarious...highly recommend 😂
For me the Game is at its best when it is a back and forth which midrange battles can provide. It is a bit problematic if it becomes too grindy. New players become probably overwhelmed when games take 30+ min. It is good when Decks like this one can end games quick.
That match against Boros aggro… typically you’d be fine after killing their third creature cause they don’t run many and once you kill the third they scoop. In this case opponent draw a couple more creatures than the average and one or two fewer lands. The problem with this deck is the lack of board wipes. At least in Bo1.
I came back after a week of not playing MTGA yesterday, and I played four matches of Bo3 standard, and all four opponents were playing this deck. I'm playing four-color Atraxa and I just lose :)
I've recently noticed a strange occurrence: often, when watching CGB videos, my wildcards mysteriously disappear. I wonder if anyone else has has this issue... ;) Thanks for the entertainment.
So this deck won a bo3 championship. I would expect it to do better in standard but I don’t think it does. Am I correct in this assessment? It seems “pretty good” based on this video. Thoughts?? I think the b/w reanimation desk is stronger based on your last video for bo1
Midrange and Control are both bad for new players, since its hard to understand initially how all the little decisions come together to make a deck powerful. It does seem like a bad idea thought to make all of Standard typal and aggro decks. Can Wizards just make better starter decks and do that more often. They are trying to do something like it with magic foundations, and most other card games have intro decks that you buy and then upgrade.
I get so angry at this game so often. It's like the other player draws perfectly what they need all the time... but that never happens to me. If I'm top decking you better believe it's 10 straight lands.
People also have to realize that they are building decks to combat other pros and their decks. So these are highly specialized decks that can’t cover the broad variety found in Bo1. But let’s be real, no deck can do that in Bo1. It’s all about what you have fun playing.
