+Ashton “Nauct” Simmons ME TOO!!!! OMG I can't stop laughing. I imagine little pieces of asparagus just floating around after loosening from the package and hitting them in the face and stuff hahahahaha. I would be finding that package though cause that is valuable food!!!
These videos of astronauts educating us and sharing their experience always make me smile. Nice to see Kelly heading back up there for a year to share more of his experiences with us!
How could anyone give these videos a thumbs down? The astronauts don't have to make them. Obviously they are not actors but they are incredibly fascinating!
Thank you for sharing this with us team ISS. Wish I was there with you all. THANK YOU all for your service and advancing our understanding of life beyond our earthly limits. Keep up the great work! Godspeed
whoever thought you would be told to make sure you "drink" all your dinner so you can pee it back in to the supply chain? LOL The narration moves a little "slow", but all in all, a great video. Thank you Commander Kelly for taking the time to educate us! I thoroughly enjoyed the material.
All the space videos I've seen just make me appreciate our planet more. Maybe it's telling us that the more we look outside, the more we should be concentrating on making our planet right.
True, but getting rid of the benefits and technology that space travel has given us, would set human civilization back half a century or more. Also, other Scholars have pointed, out instead of destroying our planet through strip mining, drilling and industrial pollution. We could gather some of our mineral resources from outer space.
The Lord bless Mr. Kelly and NASA because provides future and possible business for the future, it is very organized specially having teams like Mr. Kelly following guidances to make the blessings last much more , the Lord bless.
Brandon Bennetzen The Americans don't take alcohol on the space station, the Russians however take gallons of it up everytime they launch. They claim it's to sterilise equipment but we all know they are drinking it.
What stereo system? ? The noise is a bunch of fans they have to keep on at all times to filter the air from all the moisture of peoples breath. They have to keep the fans on.
Thank you very much for sharing this. I am a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher and my group is studying astronauts. Tomorrow we are learning about what astronauts eat and this video is perfect! Thank you very much!
When that Russian flew behind him while he was eating his stew, he should have acted shocked and yelled, "Who the hell was THAT? I never saw that guy before! Where did he come from?"
Nasa we a preparing to adjust orbit...Houston we have a problem they pilot just got a old package of Asparagus in the eye, I guess you can kiss your $60 Billion dollar space station goodbye.
Even though I consider the word 'Amazing to be Over Uses; but watching these NASA staff and listening to them; to me "They are literally AMAZING'..... II have no Idea HOW they ever learned all that they must know to have the Skilled work that they do. THEY ARE A HELP TO US AND OUR PLANET; I am Grateful for them and RU-vid.
Suzanne S Thats actually a good point.... Involuntary night-time "emissions" can happen if one doesn't upkeep "maintenance" I imagine it happens much like how it does on earth(into a tissue.)
LOL, "The asparagus floated away somewhere.... not too sure where it went." #Spacefrontierproblems! Lol, thank you for your service Cpt. Hopefully you can continue with your expeditions for years to come
How isn't it safe to eat afterwards? I think you believe radiation to be harmful because of what it can do to LIVING cells. In this case, the radiation treated foods should be perfectly fine to eat without much, if any, risk.
Irradiated food does not become radioactive afterwards, just like food that has been in sunlight for a while does not start to shine. Radiation in this case usually means hard X-rays, which are exactly like light in every way except that they have a shorter wavelength. Imho, the term "irradiated food" isn't very specific. "X-ray pasteurized food" would have been a more descriptive term.
if you have a microwave you have had food that has been treated by radiation. Of course, used to heat it up. Not exactly as the irradiated food on orbit, but same idea :)
Mike N. You won't get it. They go into quarantine before a launch and have medical professionals that keep tabs on their health before during and after launch. The ISS is about as sterile as antarctica. Not only that but they are on carefully controled diets to prevent that. Every thing they eat has been developed specifically in a laboratory to prevent anything like that.
