I still prefer the rattan chairs, they are so unique, gorgeous and a better scale for your room than the new chairs. That beautiful cushion might be nice on the rattan chairs to lighten and soften them a bit. The new carpet is great as it is a better scale. You did a fantastic job on the new marketplace chairs, I just think they might be better elsewhere in your home. As long as you are happy is what really matters!!
Katia, I'm going to be honest: I like the other chairs much better. They were one of a kind and now you have 2 like anyone else. Also, I love the previous art better too. Hallo Katja,i follow you for years, despite i never make a comment,i am from Greece and i like your Boho home style, because i am in this too...i personally like the before better,then the after,those chairs are one of a kind and so precious,the others are like ordinary chairs,the same for the rug,the before was amazing ,it doesn't mean that one you choose now is not pretty,i like the whole thing, but if you would highlight the space with artwork and decorative items and fabrics would be enough... take care ❤
I loved the first look with burlap artwork done by you. The rattan chairs are too good to be replaced. Somehow felt the new chairs will look good else where. They don't look comfortable for the dining area.
You have done a great job of making a comfortable space. It makes me want sit and have a great conversation with you. As I have similar tastes in style, although though yours is a grander scale, I am impressed by ability to quickly put together your rooms , and especially to sew seat covers. So I tend to use canvas drop cloth to cover things. It can be dyed, bleached , and softened by washing and drying a couple times and using a product like fleecy. It is cheap and can be found everywhere there is a construction store. It will shrink , so do wash before making an object. And the great thing about a light coloured abode is you can virtually add any colour into it. I decorate my sister’s 14:39 place for her and she is also a white girl and we all love IKEA. The great thing about a slip covers is that you can always make more. And you can change them out as you please. So make different ones to suit your mood. Same with the pillows. Look for sweaters that suit your mood at the thrift stores and sew pillow cases to refresh your look as it pleases you. This leaves your originals and also gives you choices . You did a beautiful job on the slipcovers and it looks good. It’s definitely a different and fresh vibe. I also love the other chairs, though I’m not living with them 24/7. I get it, we get tired of looking at the same space and there’s always room for change. I wish I could be those people that when you walk into their homes 10 years later, it still looks the same. Think of all the money, time and energy we’d save. When you’re creative and have that talent…..it’s a blessing and a curse. My home changes monthly, sometimes weekly. I’m the exact same and to keep my changing of my home very minimal and save money, I’ve take to gardening, it lets the creative process flow and it’s a never ending cycle that requires you to plant, harvest, doctor, and so on. I’m a fan of so many styles that I can relate with her. Hard to stick with one look forever. I’m trying to be more timeless with House decor now days.
I personally like the wicker better. They were so unique. I also think the chairs look a bit more for a living room, but that said, I do like the way it looks and most importantly you are happy. I chose 4 white ikea slip covered chairs and two vintage chairs to anchor my table , because I also felt the white brightened up my room and my couch and chair are white slipcovers. I get what you mean by cohesive. Maybe keeping those wicker chairs with the really cool antique ones you had and two white slipcovered chairs would look cool also. So the wicker at the ends and two of the others beside one another. That way you see white but have that cool boho vibe with the wood look also. My dining table is like a million years old , so it’s a different look too. We took a formal table that we inherited and made it informal by changing legs and staining it. It’s all so much fun and like you , I am never 100% satisfied. I’m always changing stuff and I am not an artist. lol. I work in behavioral health. lol. Thanks for your channel. I love it.

I would want practicality in a dining room chair. I think, because the arms are covered in the white fabric, that anytime someone goes to push the chair back, it would be possible to have dirty (or greasy) hands, which would stain the arms. If you don't have others (or children) that are careless, then it may not be a concern. Personally, I think these would be great in the corner of a bedroom.
I love the new chairs. I feel like the other chairs were pretty too but, maybe as the seasons change so does our space. Overall, the space is beautiful . I like the current rug as well.
At the beginning I though the new chairs were to big but ...no! You did beautiful with the chairs. It look almost comfy as a lving room. And also good choice changing the carpet. It looks now that the focus is the table. Something that I think in this case is the most important part of your new dinning room! Good job! I love it!!!!🌹🌹🌹
Hello Katia, you are amazing. All your creations are fabulous. The colour scheme is good but the previous earthy neutrals were full of texture and nuance. Your previous chairs were weightless looking with the cane crosshatching effect, whereas the new chairs are very solid and take up a lot of visual space and are reminiscent of lounge chairs. They also look like you cannot push them under the table as dining chairs would have been able to do. The previous chairs seem to flow with the table through their colour value and wooden material. It does look beautiful but not as functional. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work, you are an inspiration to me.
This is a beautiful revamp. You are amazing. Although, i prefer your first transformation with the 2 beautiful wooden chairs, with the unique rattan chairs, this is still super. So inspiring!❤
I like the lighter rug much better! and the 2white chairs ( after you revamped them ) are also making the whole much lighter, they look good too. I must say, i found the Ratan chairs really unique and more beautiful! As chairs (by themselves) i preferred the Ratan ones, but the new chairs however do have something too, they sure give the whole area a much more "together" look. All in all i do love how it turned out!
The other chairs were beautiful and the new chairs looked more comfortable. Maybe tweak the candle sticks on the table to something thinner and maybe black iron candle sticks. Like a medium think. The others look a little clunky with the new chairs. I love your sense of adventure. Unlike my Southern family who liked to put something in one place and leave it exactly the same forever.🤣Change is good sweetie! You are smart girl to ask for input. You learn new things that way. 👍
Love your creativity. I really like the rattan chairs. Perhaps making off-white cushions that cover both the seat and back would lighten up the room and achieve your goal. I would swap out the black chairs for the rattan ones. Happy creating❤
Love the chairs and carpet is good. Just a suggestion, the two chairs ,maybe light covers for them too. And switch up the pillows on the bench to ones like or similar to the new ones. I'm doing this on my phone and I know that things would look different in real light.Thats what I see, as your dinning room is open to your living room and flow together. I like the new look!!. Much better love the new chairs. Love the new rug. It looks cozier. The original way was too much of the same thing. The ratan chairs and the old rug all looked too much alike. There wasn't enough variety however ..Your new version has variety and texture. And it looks much more inviting. Great job!!!

Gotta be honest, bad choice all around the original chairs were unique these new chairs are run of the mill and having fully upholstered chairs for a dining room is problematic for eating/drinking (in white no less!) even with the best performance fabrics. The reason those chairs are so low is because they're 'slipper' chairs made for a bedroom. Once you raise them the poor person sitting in them won't be able to scoot the chair forward to eat at the table as the arms won't go under the table, leaving the person literally on the edge of their seat in order to be able to eat. The dining room was hands down better before- I think you have cabin fever - looking to re-do things that were great the way they were before. My advice: go outside and be in nature for a long weekend, inspiration will come.

Love your house but have to agree with other response, those rattan chairs are the bomb. You won't see those anywhere else. I feel the new chairs are too big for that space although I do like the chairs . You have a beautiful home; but, again, the rattan chairs are beautiful, so unusual.
Katia, it’s so hard to know sometimes what to put in a room for everything to go together and flow, isn’t it. I’ve bought and taken back things 2 or 3 times, once 7 times before everything came together the way I could see it in my head. The chairs look amazing after you revamped them, and the new rug really brightens up the room. Be well my sweet friend! ❤
I’m curious what the rattan chairs would look like with a very cushy seat cushion in a light color and those pillows you bought standing up as a back cushion, perhaps that will lighten them up. Either way you have 4 amazing chairs to use wherever you want and to move around when you want a different look.
I love your final remake!!! Especially the covers for the chair!!!! I agree lighter rug will make the dining area brighter. But the color of the wood furniture reflecting against the light from the french doors will change as the weather changes!!!! The type of lighting used in that has an affect on the brigthness of the room. Try using dimmer switches for the light fixtures in the dining area. You should adjust lighting with the seasonal changes. Dining area is alway hard to decorate because we send time in that area on a daily basis.
So the more I look at it , it’s growing on me. lol. I did love the wicker and the antique chairs that were wood vs black but I also think with black in your kitchen this may work. I’d like to see it now that it’s been 8 months! lol. Any changes ?
I love slip covers. I purchased 2 sets of slightly used white linen drapes from Savers thrift store for $24 total. They were originally from Pier One. Drop cloths from Home Depot work great too! You bought milled legs, I'm sure Home Depot or Amazon has less expensive straight legs for much less $$. Do you still have the tags and receipts? Or am I the only one that returns stuff? Your table has an apron around the underneath perimiter, it supports the top. Unfortunately, its stopping the arms of the new 'club chairs' from fitting under the table. This delemma increased when you added longer legs to the chairs. But thats alright since you were focusing on appearance, rather than functionality. 😊 Overall, the recovered chairs with pillows looks beautiful. Nice job! Love you, darlin! (light colored rug)

I love your work and style. I have been watching you struggle with this space as I have done with my home. I think your rooms may be getting too bland and matchy matchy. I would like to see the rattan chairs back as they have beautiful texture, and a brightly coloured bowl or collection of coloured glass/flowers/rattan balls on the centre of the table. Teal or aqua and orange May add some zip to the room. It could be a cheap easy fix. Just my opinion.
Those are the wrong type of chairs for a dining table... add legs and then the chair can't be moved in for proper eating and the person ends up sitting on the edge of the seat (uncomfortable) Those chairs are more for a bedroom at the end of the bed, corner of the room, or the dressing area to comfortably put on shoes and such. I've always loved your style, but this one for this situation is a no for me. It's just not functional as intended, unfortunately.
I like the original chairs and carpet better. The new chairs are for a bedroom not a dining room. I always like what you do but not this time. With that being said it's your home and if it works for you then leave the room as it is.
