Great demo Bob enjoyed watching you restore a car from my favourite tv programmes. The Martin i was talking about was Mr Dare. My left hand does not work. If or when it does I am thinking of taking up restoration
Nice one Bob,being a massive Gerry Anderson fan looks great ,never had this one but got the corgi ones done a few years back one in standard pink and a special edition met pink on their boxes to hand down to my son he’s 30 and I’m 52 ,so he’ll have to wait a bit hehehehe ,waiting to be a grandad 😂😂😂😂,
Looks great..one of the few Gerry Anderson models I didn't have when I was a kid. Always wanted to see one being restored. I'd got it into my head that it would be a beggar to do. Thanks for this Bob...it's made my weekend and I'll be looking out for one to make over. Nice tip about matching the pink...that was something else that puzzled me. As always a great restoration. 👍
Hello Bob...what brand of paint did you use for this restoration? I am about to embark on the same project and I think the one you have chosen looks very close to the original. Regards Brian
Hi Brian, I bought the paint from a place called Trago Mills local to me but I should think it can be bought in numerous places, the brand is called Plasticote but I can’t remember the actual colour name for it now. Your best bet is to find out somewhere that it’s sold and try and match it up. 👍
New Graphics mmmmmmmm someones been busy. Great resto fella love the Gerry Anderson vehicles and FAB 1 is an icon. Think I had a bit of a thing for Lady Penelope back in the day HaHa. 'Top Job Fella' ;-)
Mark Pepper hi, I did one a few years ago before the channel started and it was a right pig 🥴 However if I get hold of one worth doing then I’ll most probably do a video of it 👍
🚀🚢🚁🚠🛰The first time we have seen "THUNDERBIRDS" was in 1976 in France📺. 🚗But on 60'ies, they sold FAB 1 dinky toys, and children didn't know the pink Rolls Royce was from THUNDERBIRDS' serie. A lot boys wanted to buy FAB 1.💚 They were fascinated🚗👀😃😃😃.
lmao... thinking of the message you sent me about this video.. I think its great, to get the right colour ? mmm? meh.. they fade etc etc ..great job imho
Schuey 08 Thanks mate, I did do a previous restoration of a FAB 1 a while back but couldn’t find the paint I used so bought this shade of pink as it was the best I could find, then not 2 weeks later I came across the old can hidden away in my shed! Bloody marvellous 🤨 Anyway it actually looks better in the flesh than on video and the guy that bought it from me was very pleased with it 👍
Hmmm, you see I think this is too good for restoration yet. All its history and playworn identity has been lost. OK if it was a wreck yes, but I dont think every old dinky \ corgi should be resto'd.
Gonads1259 hi, yes I agree not every Corgi or Dinky needs restoring ‘ it depends how you look at it, if a model is all complete with nothing broken or missing and just showing a bit of playwear and the odd bit of paint missing then that obviously adds to the patina of the model. But in this case there were quite a few parts missing and in my eyes I would say it definitely needed restoring, I’d rather have the finished item sitting on my sideboard than the scruffy incomplete mess that it was to start with to look at.🙂
@@BobWilliscorgi Should have added you did a very good job on it. Ive got a load of my old dinkys and corgis in my loft. I might get around to restoring some of them but then I think I played with them as a kid in the 60's and even though many are scratched they have so many memories.
Gonads1259 thanks, why don’t you just pick out the worst ones? I got to say once you’ve finished one it is nice to see it looking nice and new again. It would remind you of the first day you had it 👍🙂
