I never realized how much of an impact each scene and each song in this movie had on me until 10 years later. Much respect to the creators of this film.
Im 15 years old and loved it as a kid but when my parents threw all the cd,s out i thot id never see it agan but then i got disney plus now i can see it all the time
+jp ferco Yeah, and they haven't done this beautiful CGI SINCE then either, which makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. Like, what? They spent over a decade working on this movie and they never use the SFX since then? C'mon Disney!
@@bobcat24 Actually, the company that created the visuals in this film shut down after the release of Dinosaur and the last film they worked on was Kangaroo Jack.
for me it was the best because you get to know how they do in the real world hadrosaurs, ceratopsidae, ankylosaurs, brachiosaurus, gallimimus and other herbivores travel in groups. this movie gets 100/10. i love it
A lot of people haven't appreciate Disney even when they make epic things. But I can't care less, when I was a little kid I don't care what the other thing, I just watch it and enjoy it
+hot doge I loved this movie when I was a child...and I still do! I don't get why it is so underrated...entertaining storyline, great soundtrack and fantastic visual effects.
The university I go to is 25 miles away from my humble 1 room (1 small bathroom) apartment. 35 minutes in bus, then an awesome 20-minute walk. This during April-May in Sacramento, California. LIFE is good and enjoyable.
I always remembered this music as being part of a bigger picture. It was about leadership, cruelty and heroism. It really gives the atmosphere of danger lurking, especially of course at the end - where we should all remember the Carnotaur pair stalking the trail. At 0:48 I remember Kron stood commanding the herd with Bruton. 1:17 - 1:31 the dead Ornithomimid and the Raptors...I remember everything. In fairness, thats the sign of a film that has real significance. Great film, powerful music 10/10
The animation in this movie was so FREAKING good for 2000! The CG creatures looked really good, and not out of place against the IRL backrounds and landscapes.
I adore the use of the choir and the vocals in this film's music. It's breathtaking just to hear, and then when you can see the scenery - it's truly incredible.
Just re-watched this movie yesterday on a whim. This whole desert crossing scene especially stuck out to me, especially when they see the dinosaur that died in the sand, knowing that that could be them if they don't push on. It's terrifying.
This is legitimately one of the freakiest movies I’ve ever watched. It freaks me out more now as an adult than it did when I was a kid. For a kids’ movie, it really makes you think about the dangers these creatures faced and the finality of death
Kinda that eerie feeling, like walking through the deserts of Egypt or the middle east. Beginning sounds kinda militant. Jacob Newton Howard is a just wonderful movie composer!
James Newton Howard is underrated himself. He was 9 times (if not more) nominated for an Oscar for the music. He never won an Oscar. But many of his scores are FABULOUS and deserved an Oscar.
You're kidding, I literally today found out he wrote my two favorite Disney soundtracks (This and Atlantis), and you're telling me he didn't get an award? Freaking politics.
I have mixed feelings about that, and here's why: 1) This movie is amazing, idc what anyone thinks. 2) On the flip side, Disney has a reputation of consistently making mediocre to crap sequels. I do agree with you completely, I'd just hate to see this precious movie tainted by a less than satisfactory sequel. Ya feel me???
And considering the storyline in the original wasn't very sturdy I can't see them making a second one that does well at all. The music is what saved the original.
This is the best song from the whole movie, so intense. Honestly we need a sequel, but it would never be as good since Disney has become so kid like nowadays, this movie was a perfect representation of death and pain, something Disney sadly doesn’t depict in their movies anymore.
I can almost feel the heat! This is what makes a good soundtrack, it should make you feel what the characters feel. Another movie that made a great job at portraying feelings through music is Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. My heart breaks everytime I listen to "Fallen Rain"...
Kron: We've got a lot of first timers here, make sure they get it: we stop for nothing, and no one. Bruton: If this is your first crossing, listen up! There is no water🌊until we reach the other side. And you'd better keep up, because if a predator🦖catches you, you're on your own. Move out!
I never realised that that's what they meant by it, I thought it was an error in the script damn I'm slow sometimes and I'm even rewinding and re watching it now cause this music and them walking and the extra sound effects = legendary. If your wondering which part, it's the one where they say to make sure that everyone understands that we will not stop for them or anything else.
First saw this movie when I was 6 and used to march around my basement with my brother pretending to be migrating dinosaurs...13 years later, still getting nostalgic urges to go downstairs and blast this song.
This soundtrack is a f%cking masterpiece The way this movie combines its great soundtracks and scenes is so cool I really don’t understand why this movie failed it’s so good
Lists of underrated films, this should be number 1 not only for its fantastic animation and beautiful story, but the sweet and amazing soundtrack. Re-release this movie in theaters and remind the world this masterpiece exists
James Newton Howard really created a magnificent score for a film that could have been so much better had it had no dialogue. Seriously, this score captured every emotion in the film, we didn’t need the dinosaurs to yammer the entire time,
I still think it is still the movie in my childhood days, I don’t care what the critics are going to say, I always remember this movie no matter how underrated it is.
Todos hablan de que la película está infravalorada, y es cierto. Y es que además de que la película es hermosa, su soundtrack es magnífico! Sigo sin entender porqué casi nadie lo menciona en la actualidad. 💔
How is there a dislike button on this soundtrack; How is there a dislike button on any videos regarding this epic movie; WHATS WRONG WITH YOU RU-vid; Part of my childhood, too. I will never get bored of watching this.......Respect!!!!!!!!!!
My mother dropped me off outside her work building since it's next to the school, and to get some exercise going. I always played this song in my head to make it enjoyable.
Watched this film today! *-* And it was the one lf the first films is saw as a child and today I cried at many scenes because this film is one of disneys best films and the music is so fantastic
I remember that I really really wanted to watch this film when it came out because I've always loved dinosaurs, but I was actually too young to be allowed to see it (I was 5) & we were turned away by the cashier in the cinema. I felt so crushed that the experience obviously quite burned itself into my memory. My parents later got me the DVD when that was released, one of my very first ones.
I love how this has x5 the views of every other song on this OST Really shows the impact this song had on people coming back to search this specific track
Ethan Hensley Dinosaur cost $128,000,000 US dollars to make, which makes it the most expensive animated film of 2000. So technically, that`s partially right; it`s not the most expensive film of 2000, but it is the most expensive _animated_ film of the year 2000.
