When i was a kid, i was never able to see a chicken until i came back to my hometown when i was like 5 or 6, so i yelled "look a dinosaur!" Cause their feet looked similar to me, the fun thing is that everyone laughed at me for years for that, it turns out that when i was 18 scientist discovered that birds, included chicken were actual descendants of dinosaurs, one of the first times I felt accidentally smart
I always liked the idea of a Walking With Dinosaurs style documentary opening by following a small bird around until it returns to it's nest with a few eggs in it in a hole in a rock, then flying back out again, only to then zoom out to reveal that the hole in a rock is actually the eye socket of a tyrannosaurus skull.
Funny thing is by drastically reducing the size and power of dinosaurs through evolution they eventually did reach a population state far far greater than they ever were millions of years ago when they were still badass
K-T balance patch: Due to the recent influx of over powered players on the servers, we are going to be removing some features from the game. - large land based dinosaur factions will be removed - The pterosaur faction will be removed - Pleasiosaurs, Mosasaurs and other Aquatic reptilian factions of the same nature will be removed During this update all servers will go dark for a while, we recommend not logging while these updates are being implemented, if you still wish to play, we recommend playing underground for all smaller factions. It is our intent that this balance patch will help promote and evolve other factions.
Little did the devs know that the K-T patch would have the exact opposite the balancing effect that they had hoped for. Instead of balancing gameplay it set the stage for a bipedal primate faction that would go on to be the single most unbalanced and broken vertebrate build in the entire history of the game. One can only hope that the devs have learn from their mistake for the upcoming Holocene patch.
The gameplay astounded me and the lore had me in tears. Dinosaur us definitely my favorite series. A third game is being teased including the genetically modified chickensaurs. I can't wait.
I think the devs should revert the dinosaur nerf, it was justified but a bit harsh when it dropped but in the modern sandbox dinosaurs would be pretty balanced if not underpowered

the gameplay is realizing that maxing reproduction is the key to success, not maxing strength and size, the dinosaurs realized how to really take over the meta.
I'd say if you don't mind having to cooperate with human players, current dinosaur gameplay is decent on a micromanagement merchant/healer playstyle were you provide nourishment with a minimal maintenance build avoid the industrial farm build though, those are a trap...
Fun fact: since birds descended from theropod dinosaurs, we can safely assume that t-Rex meat tasted like chicken! Brachiosaurus and the other famous herbivores aren’t theropods though, so they probably were flavored similar to standard reptiles. I have heard however that gator meat also tastes like chicken, so the distinction doesn’t seem to matter😅
If you want to excite and disappoint a child tell them you can see a real life dinosaur at the pet store. The bring them to the pet store and show them the "Dinosaurs".
Imagine if an advanced civilization thousands of light years away tried to examine our planet, they would not know of our existence and would think that my planet was made up of dinosaurs.

Not to be that person but half of those weren't dinosaurs, they were pterosaurs, ichthyosaurs and I think u got a mosasoar in there which is a descendent of monitor lizards
*Funfact* : The T-Rex was the Apex land predator for well OVER 2 MILLION YEARS, at least according to our best current guesses from the fossil record. As a comparsion, we estimate "Homo Sapiens" the modern human, to have split off hominid predecessors around 300,000-200,000 years ago.

Tbh with the sucess of prehistoric planet i wish bbc would create a Future is wild-esque spec evo documentary that takes place after a mass extinct, with the same Levels of graphics as Prehistoric planet and more scientifically supported, that would be epic.
I am VERY pleased that the "DURR HURR IT'S JUST A CHICKEN, TYRANNOSAURUS REX WASN'T HARDCORE", etc., meme isn't taken seriously. That movie in the bottom one makes dinosaurs look cool and lizard-like. Which they are. Even the ones with feathers. Although, to be honest, I am not sure if it is possible to make dinosaurs NOT look cool.
