DIO Guitarist CRAIG GOLDY & ERIC BLAIR talk DIO's Kindness, Vinny Appice appears in this video but his interview will be forthcoming at The Premiere for the film "Dio Dreamers Never Die " #ronniejamesdio #heavenandhell #blacksabbath
I met Craig a couple of times backstage at Dio gigs in England. Despite being an AMAZING guitar player who plays impeccably in front of thousands of people every night, I found him to be a very shy and guarded man, (understandable given his upbringing), he’ll stay in the background until he’s worked out who and what you are before a conversation could take place and would wait to be approached by someone before starting a conversation, but once that initial contact had been made and the ice was broken and he felt more comfortable, I’ll tell ya straight, a nicer guy you could never meet. He’s super friendly, polite to a fault, interested in what you have to say and a great ambassador for rock and metal. I hope to meet him again one day. Big ups Craig!❤
Couldn't have been said better. We had a very similar experience and it made us even bigger fans than we already were. The fact that he was able to so humbly talk about the foundations of what makes him the man he is was very cool. Pretty rare.
Sorry I'm way off topic but this is a friendly reminder Eric... If you get a chance to interview Rita Haney, please ask her about Philip and Rex finishing the 5 unreleased Damageplan II songs. She stated back in 2017, while Vince was alive, that she wanted the guys to finish those songs. Thanks for listening. You have a good show. Those old Dio interviews are pure gold. Enjoy your weekend.
1:04 Dana Plato it's alive! By the way EPIC title for a record: Feels bad it not necessarily be so bad! and it feels good it may not necessarily be so good! Thanks, Craig you're a genius!
