Hey, I kinda knew that it was going to happen, but I thought it would be a monologue thing, but because of coronavirus, most of the monologues lately have been the host talking, just like in the really early episodes of SNL. And also, this was made so Ego Nwodim and Punkie Johnson can get screentime.

Most of y’all obviously don’t know who Dionne Warwick is. Yes, everyone did their thing in this skit, but Ego deserves a lot of praise for crafting such a memorable, relatable character, (her Dionne reminds me of so many Sisters of a certain age). I know I needed that laughter...and sis can sing!
It must be the younger generation not knowing who she is. Or the white people. I'm glad this will be a recurring skit!! It's about time they let Ego shine as she is SO talented!
@Christy A - Sadly, I think most of these people have no idea who Dionne Warwick is. Ego's impersonation was incredible. She did Dionne's voice perfectly.

Robert, the only thing I was waiting for in Ego's brilliant impression was a mention of the Psychic Friends Network, but I am much older than Ego, so she might not even know about it.
I'd like to see Ego do Wendy Williams too. There is already a LOT to parody about WW, but maybe that role will end up going to Punkie Johnson down the line.

@@AndrewOeste Wendy Williams had a segment on her show where she talked about an old marijuana related charge on Dionne Warwick that happened a very long time ago. Wendy used to be addicted to cocaine & alcohol, but she's a recovering addict. Sometimes Wendy sometimes goes too far with people, but I guess that's what her show is all about. Airing peoples very dirty laundry. In fact, she's gonna have a very brutally honest biopic about herself pretty soon. She had a very tough life. But that's what the beef is about between Williams and Warwick. I think Wendy may have a beef with a few people though, but who knows! It's only out of severe boredom that I'll look up this celebrity crap. 🤣Any type of publicity is good publicity for celebs though.
Everyone’s talking about Chloe’s impression, but no one’s talking about Ego!!! This is legitimately one of the funniest snl sketches recently and she kills it!!!!
Now if they can do the same for Melissa Villasenor, Chris Redd, and the new cast members they hired (Andrew Dismukes, Lauren Holt, and Punkie Johnson), we'll be in business.
She was awesome in this one. But I think she has problems with her delivery a lot of the times. I notice she often makes mistakes when she reads her lines. Perhaps that makes her nervous and not as funny.
@@iadesigns I sort of agree about Pete. He used to be awful but he’s improved quite a bit in the last year. You’ll notice his characters weren’t the same tonight. Also his main draw is his standup on weekend update. And he does have the Chad recurring sketches which are hits. Anyway I was just saying that I can see her potential but she’s not very good right now. Although I’ve noticed she’s gotten better the last season so it may just be nerves.

I was tweeting with her and joking about her making fun of Chance the Rapper last week! Tweeting w/her PR ppl I guess. They promoted her Birthday. She did something on television to celebrate, I can’t remember what channel. Ego was spot on doing Dionne
I remember her wearing a green swimsuit in a hot tub scene and I tried to find it everywhere but couldn't. Maybe for the best--her figure is perfectly stunning, I probably would be a little disappointed with it anyway.
This sketch needs to be in the regular rotation just so the guests and cast (Melissa and Chloe) can do 30-60 second impressions. Kenan is eventually gonna leave so Celebrity Family Feud is 'bout to get cancelled.
Yes, Dionne's is a hard and unique voice to imitate... how the heck did she mimic the raspiness in the throat? Or does this actress always have that quality in her voice?
Exactly! I love when people have the ability to perfectly embody a person. And Ego does that in this scene. She is spot on, and one of my favorite details is it's wholesome. Shes not making Ms. Dionne come off as hateful or ugly; she is honoring her gracefulness and curious nature. I love this skit and sincerely hope to see more.

That was brilliant! Her Dionne was spot on. Timothee Impression was perfect. Wish he would have been sitting next to her during it. THAT would have been epic!
Pete's Timothee Chalamet wasn't that good (vocally. Appearance-wise, it was okay). The SNL Stays at Home episodes proved that Chloe Fineman is the only one that can do it right vocally.
He probably did, they rehersed all week and it's not like it was a secret, I think timmy is the kind of person who can laugh at himself and take jokes so he probably thought it was funny!
Ego is so Underrated!! She is such a Talented Actress who can tackle Anyone's persona. SNL need to KEEP HER AND MAKE HER A MAIN CAST MEMBER BCUZ SHE IS BEAUTIFUL, TALENTED AND HILARIOUS

Love her singing with her mouth full then immediately ending the cooking segment. Ego should definitely turn this into a regular segment! It's like a reverse Eric Andre show.
Ego BODIED this. This is her best showing yet. I am not sure what Dionne Warwick is like as a person but I am pretty sure this is it. I thought I liked her as Patti... I loved Ego in this. Ego, will you please do more legendary divas? It seems to be your wheelhouse. About to watch a 3rd time.
