I'm so glad you did this vid. I was considering Mimirose but, after seeing your swatches and look, I realize I can easily dupe it. I am fair with neutral undertones and I think that blush would look like Pepto Bismol on me! Even the Backstage Pink doesn't work on me. Love the Lip Maximizer and, happily, I already have it. Thanks for saving me $$$ on these!
I feel they targeted the East Asian market with these. I’m South Korean, and the beauty enthusiasts are going crazy for this collection. That eye palette and the blush are totally perfect for the looks that we go for. I know they are a hit in Japan and women here are excited for the blush because a lot of people feel that western blushes are too warm.
Especially since it’s really trendy there to use a pale cool blush as an underblush for brightening first then top it off with a regular blush to make it pop brighter and cooler
yes this particular release is very much targeting that market. I still think thought that three pink shades doesn't make a lot of sense and which the blush were in the satin formula which is a little more radiant
I’ve been waiting for your review of this palette. I loved the idea of the gentle blue but with other colors being the same, I don’t think I need. And since they changed their formula to a six month value, I wouldn’t get the use out of it. I totally forgot about the PML palette!! I have that. Money saved.
Thank you Sofia for the in depth review and comparisons!! 😊 I wasn’t interested in the mimirose when I saw pictures, but after your demo it does suit my aesthetics. 😅 I don’t have any LM cavier sticks or big palettes. I do already own the Miss Dior quint, so I’ll have to think about it more. Personally I feel this part of the spring collection from Dior was geared towards the Asia markets, hence why the soft colors and very light pink blush. But I think it’s nice that Dior makes them available to all markets for those of us with similar tones and styles as our Asia market counterparts, unlike other brands *cough cough Chanel* that makes only exclusive products for certain markets. 😔
I made the mistake of buying this blush and it’s emperor’s new clothes to me - it’s absolutely overpriced and the marketing is not at all clear who it’s for, it looked pink and radiant in the Dior photos but ashy and chalky in real life - and I’m pale! Xx
The eye look is really pretty-just not sure it’s a ‘purchase’ for this girl who prefers warmer tones …and 3 shades that all look essentially, the same!? 🙄
You have such good swatches and comparisons and you really take the time to show the difference. Always the most in- depth reviews on RU-vid Really appreciate you 🙏
Ok. I’m the honest sub here. What ?? You cant see the difference on eye. I’m a smart buyer and for the money I want to see the shades ya know ?? Thank you for this I would love for you to go back and shop your stash. Revisit some older palettes again
I had no idea this was limited edition. I’m so glad you mentioned that! I was so excited for this quint! I still really like it, but with 3 shades so similar and having texture on my lids, I’m going to pass at nearly $70. It made a really pretty look, though! I have the iridescent blue topper in Mothership I and also the blue from Bridgerton palette! I also have plenty of other soft pinks where I could recreate something close to what I could make with this one including I Need a Nude and Retro Glam! Oh and Mini Zendo! I think there is definitely a time to get a quad or quint that you can dupe…when you just like the new formula, when you need it condensed in one palette for travel or just ease, if you don’t like the formula or tone of what you already have, or if there is something unique to the new palette. But none of that applies to me. I’m so glad you did all of these comparisons because it really shows I can do this look several times over! ❤
Yeah I wish they would make it more clear on the website! Even things that say "exclusive" I am not sure what that means. Sometimes it says that and then they are selling it at another retailer lol
@@SofiaSeesBeauty I wasn’t making fun of you, I thought of the same palette too. Also did you see the love collection pat just released? A quad (colors are not new to my knowledge) & to lipsticks that are detailed bulletts and I maybe new colors? Not sure. And what looks like a bridgerton highlighter embossing but it’s qpid
I love the blush on you, gives you such a soft winter/spring flush. Perfect for a natural look! I'm quite excited, I think I will pick it up when it's in stock. The pallette is too repetitive, not interested. Thank you for the review! 😘
I’m so relieved I’m not tempted by these shadows and blushes - fewh! 😂 I can catch a breath and wait for something more exciting coming out, I’m sure pretty soon! Thank you for your thorough review Sofia!
Thank you Sofia! I think if you want to try very light blush with this kind of color but with some glow it’s better to go with hourglass ethereal glow. I’m very pale and hourglass blush makes my skin look younger and refreshing. Regarding Dior eyeshadow palette I think I love this color theme. Also I see trend on TikTok where girls using those eyeshadow shades to create Russian winter look like and it is very beautiful. Unfortunately I’ll skip this palette as mentioned it is not very friendly to mature skin and can emphasise a texture on eyelids. ❤️🙌
$68 plus tax for 5 eyeshadows, 3 of which are essentially the same color? No, thank you. I’d rather get a ND INAN midi palette that I can get for $69 less at least 15% with no tax or $58.65 from her site. Sure some of the eyeshadows are redundant as well but I don’t mind it as much as I get 15 of them to play with.
Dior MimiRose and Rose Popeline looks beautiful on your complexion. The color story definitely speaks to a certain demographic with these tones in their skin. It gives me ethereal and very soft glam vibes. I wonder how this palette will look on my complexion. Rose Popeline is for very fair complexion. I think it is well suited for this light tone palette to have a light blush. However it would have been nice to see additional roses for medium to deeper skin tones. Like your wonderful comparisons we may already have that perfect rose blush in our collections. If Dior created a Face Glow shade to go with this blush, it would have been so amazing. Soft lilac pink or champagne rose highlighter on cheekbones with Rose Pipeline. Stunning! Nars Impassioned or Thrill Blush would be pretty with this look. Also Pat McGrath Divine Rose blush. Dior Spring 24' Collection does look really pretty and fresh. I see they have a great lineup of blushes. 225 Delicate Rose looks delectable and peachy. Nail polishes are cute.
Stunning palette, and I love the color story! This as well as the other palettes look so pink. I will pass, as I can get similar looks with my Motherships, particularly Divine Rose MS VII. But it would be great for travel!....spoke too soon, yup PML Bridgerton!
Hi dear Sofia, i watched this video in more than 1 time, RU-vid was/is disturbed a lot, takes also long again to type this comment, but loved the video!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩Will always love this colourstory, did not find the colours boring from the quint! Great comparisons however!!! Have a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘
I have both Bridgerton palettes and I immediately thought of the first one when I saw the Dior one! I’m very disappointed with the Spring launches I’ve seen scheduled for this year but Dior just has me shaking my head. They seem to be having a lot of trouble coming up with more valuable options. At these price points, you need to make it covetable and wearable by your consumers. I was looking at some of the thing s I own or have looked at recently to see what options would be available to others and wanted your thoughts. If you have Lightwork V, resilient and protected can give a better color topper but not really dupes. I don’t use the brand anymore but Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautyverse XMas 2023 palette has a great blue shade i there that would be a good option. There’s also a bit of overlap with the Suqqu Spring palettes I found to be interesting. I also feel like the blue eyeshadow in the Addiction Tokyo Holiday palette is similar and also has the pink tone in there that would be a better value than the Dior palette. For the pink tones the Mini Starlette from ND would be a better place to look and just find a pretty blue shift topper.
Excited for spring, but perhaps not this palette. So glad you applied. I don't know what I will purchase for spring. I have two great gift cards. Have not used them yet. Waiting...
I find this palette actually super pretty for everyday look. Very clean and fresh look. The blush is ridiculous, your cheek had more coluor before the blush than after with this blush...
I was more attracted to the “not dior” part of your arm or hand than the dior side, every comparison! Maybe the blush was more noticeable in real life but, it definitely reminded me of brightening finishing powder. I ordered Mimi, but I haven’t received it yet. For sure, no one would guess you have all 5 shades on your kids. I do actually very much like very light, “eyelighter” type looks, so I may end up getting good use out of it. But I will never, ever buy from dior without watching reviews, even if it’s LE, again.
Glad I picked up the Mimi Rose Quint (It’s the only one I picked up this season). Unfortunately, the blush is so very light. I’m maybe one shade darker than you (light, rather than fair) and I don’t think it would show up on me. I have enough blushes to last me a lifetime, so unless it knocks my socks off, it’s a pass. I think the lip maximizer is pretty too (I picked up the pink and the one you are wearing and passed on the yellow). I also picked up a few of the new Rouge Dior lipsticks and like those as well.
Thank you for the review and all the comparisons!! I agree with you on the 3 shades being so similar. The blue topper is interesting. Decisions, decisions!!
Surprisingly, this eye palette is growing on me. I love the pastel look and the blue topper gives a really pretty, unexpected layer that makes the whole look. In videos anyway. I even like the blush. I'm the same foundation shade as you so it could work. This reminds me of what used to be called an "Asian release". I bugged Dior for years to make these available in the US, and I think this, like some paler palettes from last year, shows that they listened (not just to me. I'm sure others put on some pressure too. I'm not that important.). This ethereal look is so much more appealing than the clown-like blushes that we saw from many brands last year. Did you get that Dior Limited Edition blush that was kind of a pink/lilac, that was available stateside for about 5 minutes? I'd love to see it compared to this blush. I'm going to try to get both of those Spring '24 SUQQU eye palettes. The blue in the one looks matte. But I'm enjoying the addition of one pale blue shade with a bunch of neutrals. It really adds something subtle, but special, to eye looks. And I wonder if that Rose Popeline blush could work with a light dusting of last year's Chanel Fantaisie over it. What do you think? Thanks for the video. 💚
Yes you are right. I think this release is designed for the Asian market so the style of the shades and texture is to what is trending there :) I didn't get a chance to get that other pink blush! It was already sold out LOL. I think the blush goes really well with the Chanel one but would also kind of get covered up
Thank you for the review. The only color I’m interested in is the blue topper shade. Was thinking the same thing about Suqqu but the previews (spring 24) I’ve seen so far the Suqqu blue looks matte. I was wondering about the Surratt eyeshadow in nebula as a dupe? The pink blush is pretty but not worth the price, imo. I still like the Chanel fantasy pink blush from last spring. It has a little more payoff
Thank you for your honest review. Great comparisions too! I'm so glad i passed this eye palette and blush! I definitely enjoy gucci or givenchy blushes for the cool pink cheeks look!
Hi Sofia! Thank you for featuring Dior’s spring eye quint and blush. Either Dior is catering to a very specific skin tone or Dior is following a very specific trend. You are beautiful with a naked face, and of course, both the eyeshadow and the blush look good on you, but I have certainly seen far better shades on your eyes and cheeks. So, this is a pass for me. Thank you for the great demo and comparisons.
I do think it is a shame that we see this palet being used the same way by every one. You can use the different colors in different ways. Maybe try the dark color over the eyelid en use the blue topper over it in the middle. I like to see more different looks on you tube. Thank you for your video.
You do realize that using the dark color over the lid makes your eyes looks smaller, right? It’s such a particular look and rarely flattering, I personally would never do this, and there’s a reason why people using mostly the same method on applying makeup - light brings the attention and makes eyes look bigger 😊
Thank you for the feedback! For the demo I try to do the look that will be the most appealing to my subscribers (who usually like softer looks). But I like your idea of layering the other two shades together
Sophia...does the new dior matt pink blush have any blurring affect and since you built ip up, did you notice any caking? Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
