as a former modeler and a current model railroader.....i can say this is incredible work. my model railroad consists of many diaramas so i can truly appreciate this work. thanks for sharing!
Other than air brushing, how you guys visual realistic colors for the models and scenery is amazing. Thank you for all the soldiers that died there fighting for our freedom. RIP
Great work, really amazing - But there's a HUGE lack of dead/wounded soldiers in that. Looks like the germans just let them onto the beach no problems. Everything else is fantastic.
One issue! We're all the dead and wounded? When we hit the beaches at Normandy many GI's were killed before they got out of the LCI's! Remember saving Private Ryan? Great work by the way!
I have just spent two weeks visiting the D Day beaches and museums So humbling to see where these allied hero's did so much so give us today Thank you .
Wow. Wish I had a good eye for detail like this. I always wanted to buy these model sets when I was younger and still kinda want to get back into it now seeing this vid.
Scary stuff even looking at a diorama.. Hard to imagine the fear felt and courage needed of every one of these guys on the day. They all had a role to play.
Not even "Saving Private Ryan" got the anti boat blockades correct! So well done you on doing your research. They did infact face the way you have them so the boat would lift up unlike in the movie where they face the other way. Overall, an astounding Diorama that I know for sure cost a lot of time (and money) Amazing work!
Impressive achievement. I heard from a survival at radio, at the 75th anniversary of the D-day, that there were loads of hit soldiers after descending from the ships. The ones that followed the previous ones had to dive into the red bloody water. That must have been tough on the morale. RIP to all those brave men. "Toutes les guerres sont civiles, car c’est toujours l’homme contre l’homme qui répand son propre sang, qui déchire ses propres entrailles."
Requires the patience of saints. I take my hat of to this guy. So glad YT allows people to showcase their skill and dedication. Otherwise, how could we see so many talented, committed craftsmen?
It's amazing to think people forget it was Irwin Rommel that built Normandy up to be harder to breach, the Higgins boats used to land were poorly designed, it was like shooting fish in a barrel for the Vermacht. This is nicely done, I like it.
To anyone commenting about the lack of casualties, they most likely didn’t make models that accurately represented that. Regardless this is a beautiful piece
I agree it's good modeling but if you are a good modeller then you should have the capabilities to modify the soldiers, kits and whatever is needed for realism, a bit of research would have told him the English channel is brownish grey, not azure blue!
That is not modelling a Diorama.......that was a work of Art in progress. It was an absolute pleasure to watch and I could have watched you extend it all the way to Berlin.... foot by foot. Amazing work and attention to fine detail.

An absolutely spectacular, intensely dramatic tableau! Extraordinary, and on multiple levels. Each element is a work of art. This in its detailing and grandness is befitting a history museum on the Second World War. Please create more for us.
Beautifully painted, though it suffers from over weathering. The vehicles would be freshly painted so shouldn't have rust on them. The bullet holes in the casements shouldn't have dirty runnoff as the holes are fresh. The men, especially their boots should show water staining. Otherwise looks fantastic.
You've done a outstanding job on your diorama . The attention to detail and superb scratch building of the terrain make it a first rate display . Thank you for sharing the video of you creating it .
Incredible detail! Just one piece of advice: I saw some "shine" on various surfaces that shouldn't be shiny. I'd spray those areas with a dusting of matte clear to dull them down a bit. You do incredible work! The patience to do all those soldiers.....
EXCELLENT VIDEO. NOW THATS DEDICATION TO HISTORY, KNOWLEDGE, CRAFT, HOBBY AND ENTHUSIASM. Many museums are probably looking at this video and thinking, can he/ she do something for us, to put a historical point across to give a visitor a visual understanding of happenings from the past. ALSO, A POINT I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE ANY RELEVANCE TO THIS VIDEO. TO HAVE A HOBBY IS NOT BORING. NO MATTER HOW YOUNG, OLD YOU ARE, IF YOU LIKE DOING THINGS IN YOUR SPARE TIME AND ITS NOT ILLEGAL, DO IT. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE TOLD NOT TO HAVE A HOBBY OR INTEREST IN THINGS BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WHO THEY ARE ASSOCIATED WITH CANT STAND BEING ALONE. Scenario: “Here John, fancy coming out with the boys for a few drinks and fun afterwards? NOT TODAY BUT IM OKAY FOR TOMORROW. “Come on. Don’t be an antisocial nerd, you freak. Come out and enjoy “. ITS GOOD TO HAVE FUN BUT KNOW WHEN TO MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF TO BE CREATIVE. HAVE FUN PEOPLE AND BE CREATIVE. Even in retirement, HAVE SOMETHING TO DO. NOT JUST SIT AND WATCH THE WORLD GO BY. People have retired from our office and sadly a certain pattern developed over the last twenty years of people who left at retirement age and were dead within seven years of leaving. These guys and girls left at sixty and sixty five but only knew about work. They never had an interest or hobby to keep their mind and body active. SO LIVE AND ENJOY.
Raja Rahman - So your hobby is writing long rambling posts with random upper case words telling people what they should or shouldn't do when they retire? You should get yourself a new hobby... like minding your own damned business.
WOW this is by far the best diorama I have ever seen and I have seen a bunch of them. Your attention to detail is awesome and the amount of work you had to put into this much respect. Can't wait to see the next one.
@@steelangeling I was talking bout the last one you put up and the DDay one and pretty much all them lol. You do awesome work on all them can't wait to see your next video
Great job !!!! Thanks for this video, always nice to see how others create their vision. I’m in the planning stage of a multiple diorama of the USS Arizona with a 1:200 main model then attempt two dioramas with one being Dec 7th 1941 the moment of tragedy when the ship exploded taking all the poor souls with her. The other diorama being the ship today and the memorial built to honor those men. Videos such as yours as so helpful to people like myself who have not tried certain terrain such as water ect.......
@@steelangeling This bunker could not be used. This is a Polish machine gun bunker. It is designed for flanking fire. The structure is located almost two meters underground and three meters above the ground. How he ended up in France, how he fell, where the underground part and the wall in front of the entrance disappeared, is a mystery to me. This is how he looked in life. The modeling in his own is incredible i wouldnt be abble to do the quarter of it But i have to say the the scene isn't realy realistic during the d-day there wasnt any jeep or half track like that and most of the tank were drown before to gain the beach, moreover the tank wasnt covered with sand bag that was already a chalenge to make them kinda float the dont seem a good idea too had more weight to them
@Felix Simms “make a criticism” stfu lmao, learn proper grammar of the English language then come back and try to *CRITIQUE* someone on their spelling and grammar.
This gave me chills... even if this isn’t 100% accurate as some will argue it still gives you some concept of what it must have been like. Certainly a lot more than just reading about it in a history book (at least it does for me but then I’m a more visual learner).
Jokokouille but you should ignore it when people criticise you for, amongst other things, a lack of blood which is not what that kind of diorama is about. You have to judge things in their proper context.
What a bloody day that was. The only thing you got wrong was the absence of bodies, wounded and blood all over the sand and in the water, the water at the beach had a red tint to it and there were bodies everywhere. So many Americans died in such a small area it was surreal and can only be imagined and I doubt it can be made modeled so it looked realistic. Had a destroyer not disobeyed orders and sailed in close to shore and pounded the German positions with direct fire the day at least for the American Omaha sector would have been a failure.
Прекрасная работа. Видно что автар постарался. Боюсь представить сколькотвремени потрачено! Только одно замечание: во время высадки были большие потери. Многие людей было ранено и убито. Добавьте кровь на пляж и в воду.
That's a lot of kits, & a lot of work...very well executed! Agree with some of the comments about the sea being darker, and perhaps using resin for a more realistic effect, but there's a lot of good work there, must've taken a while to complete...good job👍 Subscribed!
