Black and white sure adds a special mood...was just watching the vid for Boys of Summer by Don Henley and commented how doing that iconic video in black and white was such a genius move...nothing like it.

Planet of new orleans, you and youre friend and fade to black are wonderfull songs, pure quality There is hardly a bad song on the album. One of Dire straits finest !

The best intro IMO. There is only one thing wrong with this song. It is not long enough! Knopfler is in my top 2 guitar players.

Don't be silly...this man has more than enough musical accomplishments to his name and has established himself as an original musician to the point where your dimly lit criticism and comparison is just a waste of time for you and for anyone reading your comment... I've loved Bob Dylan for 35 years but Mark Knopfler is certainly above being accused of riding on anyone's coattails simply because his voice happens to resemble Dylan here.
