I love that they decided to make the video a tribute to the hard working rodies that make them all look them all so good out there on the road. Those guys, even more than the ones on stage really do have to run on Heavy Heavy Fuel!!!

I'm a Heavy Metal guy, since the late 1970s, but this band is just hypnotically good. In my junior high algebra class, our teacher was so cool that she'd have the radio playing, and "Sultans of Swing" became one of my favorite songs.

Many, if not most of Knopfler's cuts are just that, UNDERRATED. I was 1 of the only 😺, in All the various groups I hung with, from intellectual, real clean straight dudes to hair-band aficionados w/ hot blondes that used a whole can of hair spray before going out, to hard core bikers, etc , Etc, etc. Remember This was late '70s - early '80s ; a lot of different things were going on, mostly lame, but I was all over, late teens, had been on my own for some years already, always had decent work, the best herb, knew bands & music ind. people, always had THE BEST, WHICH WAS ALL IMPORTED, blah, blah, blah..

Mark Knopfler is the best technically proficient guitarist that I've had the pleasure to listen to, all the way back to The Beatles in 1964. It's a shame that he isn't recognized as such in the U.S. but when the guitar gods in Europe get together for a concert jam he's always put out front and center..What a pleasure it is to listen to him on songs like this as well as the more demanding tunes that don't get air play.

A tribute to Roadies: BAck in 2007, a band I had never seen that I was really into was coming to the United States from Germany.. They were going to play in Atlanta. I live in Los Angeles. I told myself, I am going to go to see them at this show. The name of the Show, PROGPOWER, the name of the band PRIMAL FEAR. So this show is a 2 day affair. Only 1500 tickets are sold and it was sold out. I flew to the show, and saw a ton of bands on the first night. on the 2nd night, i finally saw PRIMAL FEAR. (They co-headlined). After the two headliners went on, the show continued with band members from the different bands over the two days, forming one off groups singing covers. So you would have the singer from band x, with the bassist from band Y, and the drummer from band Z peforming different covers. It was Bad Ass !! After 2 hours of this, the Roadies came on stage and then played FLIGHT OF ICARUS by IRON MAIDEN. That was EPIC!! So hats off to all the Roadies out there.

I usually don't care too much for "music" videos, the music has always been enough for me. But when I see something like this, which actually makes sense with the lyrics, I find it pretty good. This one made me laugh out loud because it was so funny! I love Mark Knopfler's reaction to his roadie's crazy things he does, absolute gold!

I played this song with the band I was in. Played it probably just the one time and didn't rehearse it with them. Shouted out some chord changes. Did a great job and recorded it as well that night. We had a unforgettable night playing some great songs very well if not explosive. Love Dire Straits. Listen to those songs recorded on cd all the time. So glad we recorded them. We were a three piece kick ass band.
