Fantastic Dire Straited live event - goes through n' through ! I hope Mark K treat himself the best possible way, cause I want him with me as long my wrecked body touches the amazing soil = xxx !!! 👍👌👏🎼❤️🔥🤘🥰🤝🤞🍀🐞💋💋💋 ps : haha, total agree with that drummer - money for nothin was much to short = the most commercial one or not, that Song is pretty damn solid and playin live must be exciting !! You're did my day mate🤙🥁
I saw them twice in that 1992 tour, first in Bremen and afterwards in Bilbao. Amazing concerts and legendary guitar solos by Knopfler. Was able to see him again by his own in 1999.
There would be No Knopfler without first being a 'Dire Straits'❤. These other musicians are accomplished musicians that have performed awesomely without Knopfler!! Knopfler🤑 forgets that it takes a sun to make a 'star' shine!!
@@Sandman64613 with all my respect to you and to the rest of the band, it was exactly the other way around. There wouldn't have been any Dire Straits without MK. Yes, they were great musicians. Yes, the band was amazing together, I could enjoy them live several times. But it's also true that most of the band members came and went throughout the years, many were replaced and the band kept rolling. Why? Simply because MK was the brain, the heart and the soul of the band. He wrote all songs, he composed all the music, the whole live performances circled around him, his guitar solos were what the people paid the tickets for. Mark Knopfler was Dire Straits himself, and he has kept embodying it after the band broke up, as listening to him you could still experience Dire Straits.
@inigo7576 You believe the hype. The 'rock star' bullsh*t. You know nothing of Knopfler but what the hyperbole tells you!! Was he talented? Beyond measure!! But, he was not 'Dire Straits'. He used DS to give him a foundation to launch, then he walked away. His 'solo' music still does not outsell his involvement in 'Dire Straits'!!
@@Sandman64613 you don't know anything about me but you pretend to know and to teach me on what I do set my judgement? You arrogant got no clue of how many times I saw Dire Straits and Mark Knopfer live, both with the band and him alone. It's how I see it and, honestly, I don't give a s**t of your words and "opinion". First respect others, so go with your BS somewhere else. A free advice for you: don't waste your time answering, I've already blocked you and fortunately won't get any notification from you anymore.
Musically interesting in parts, but his monotonal voice just bores the hell out of me. And like SRV, the songs are not all that interesting and just vehicles for guitar riffs.
MK sings his own personal and irreplicable style and almost recites some verses. He has a deep and resonating voice and simoultaneously plays a different melody and a different rythm. He improvises when playing as well and yes, the guitar "twiddly bits" are the core of his production, as he's recognised as a guitar virtuoso for his original and effortless style (he was awarded three honorary Phd degrees in music for that, apart from his Bachelor degree in English literature); however the music is always functional to his amazing lyrics, another MK's asset. And that's all in one man (who taught himself!), plus all the band members are 1st class musicians: no stupid panthomines, just excellent performances on stage. And, last but not least, people have been listening to (and loving) these songs for decades. Not enough? 😢
