Jin’s vocal skills are outstanding in this performance. He’s belting the high notes at the end of the song with his full voice like they’re nothing with no strain at all. That’s absolutely crazy and it shows how well he is able to execute different techniques without hesitation!💜
He actually originally wrote it for his mixtape, but when the group was approached about doing the soundtrack song for the movie, he adapted it and submitted it for consideration & (not surprisingly!) it was chosen. ☺
Jungkook gifted that song to BTS because the film's director took this song as an OST bc he liked that song, and Jungkook rewrote that song into japanese language
I love this song so much, especially how it uses their individual voices to build in intensity to get to Jimin's almost cry at the peak. I don't know how else to explain what he does here, but the emotion just hits me every time. In addition to being a beautiful song, it's arranged perfectly with each member of the vocal line given exactly the right parts.
JK deserves a little more credit here, I feel. He wrote the song, did the initial demo on his own and submitted it for the movie OST at the last minute, where it was immediately accepted by the Director. But, apart from all that, Taehyung once said that JK's natural register is much lower. You can hear this in his "Falling" cover and in "Stay Alive" and "Decalcomania". He just has such extraordinary control of his voice that it appears effortless whether he's in a high or low register. If you listen carefully, you can hear JK's voice in the backing vocals, and in the ad libs - here and in most of their songs. I also think it takes more for Taehyung to sing consistently in such a high register, and he does it beautifully here. I commend the entire vocal line for how exquisite this song sounds. It's a masterpiece.

V with his baritone voice reaches falsetto impressions, as always Jk perfect, and the two voices of both Jin and Jimin, to the treble that arrives, both are excellent, And the rap line, smooth giving body to the song... Love this song and the live performances of it. I was totally picking up what you were throwing down as it pertains to Tae and Jimin. While they may be comfortable there it is still impressive and stands out. Jin also sounds amazing in the Japanese songs. Stay Gold and Film Out are also ones where Jimin is up there.
I can promise you that Jimin was NOT out of his comfort zone! In fact HE sits very comfortably in this high register. That’s what he’s known for. Having said that, this song is incredibly beautiful, haunting and the vocal line really kicked ass!!
Love this song. Gives me the feeling when I was little & running so fast w/ arms reached out about to take off and fly. I would always fly in my dreams and longed for that feeling when I woke up. Now I hope to dream more cuz running at all let alone that fast ain't happening unless I'm plugged into an avatar.
Got to give Jin props here and w/ Crystal Snow. Even from their own perspectives, Jimin's range required and inspired them to improve their own but Jin took it to a whole new level. I'd expect the belt from Jimin but not as dynamic and beautiful. Jimin surpassed himself here but then for Jin to come in, match & progress... Holy & Crap. Only 2 words I was capable of. Tae... again Holy & Crap. JK was the solid center. Rap line melodic lyrical tone all just wove in and out beautifully

For some very cool information, Tae joined a list called legends of the Baritone which means that he is a non-classical baritone he is on that list along with great names in music along with Fred Mercury, for example. A type of baritenor. your vocal ability in chest voice without range goes to C4 and is considered for tenors some great music teachers even say that his voice has matured a lot for tenor but it's hard to talk about it. some believe him to be a spinto tenor or dramatic tenor. but his bass was better crafted by the company's need and he was the member who had the most changes in his voice until he matured. Tay is also considered to be the only member who reaches 4 l octaves.
Honestly for some reason Jin and Jimin always are lethal in their Japanese songs for me. They always go to another insane level and their parts end up as my favourites. This song is one of them as well as Don't leave me and Film out
Wish you saw the lyrics for this one but definately suggest you go back and look at them whenever you get the chance. They're very deep and beautiful and add a ton of meaning to the song
(none of what i am saying in this comment is a direct response to you personally. this is a generic statement of what i have encountered and seen over the years of being ARMY so please dont think that i am saying that you are like this.) it baffles me how little recognition JK gets for his vocals. he is the main vocalist for a reason. he is the most stable and consistent member when it comes to singing live. he does all of the guides for the songs beforehand so the other members know how to sing their parts, he gives advice and helps his members when they dont know how to reach a note, he fills in for members when they are sick or cant perform, and he is the only member that i always hear sing live. no matter if his voice is in good or bad condition. if you watch some of their live performances on tour, it can make me so upset because you can hear the perfect backing vocals and then the other 3 vocalists will sing along quietly underneath the track (a little off key because their voices are not fully there that day or they arent confident in hitting a certain note so they let the studio track do it for them, etc) and then all the comments talk about how gorgeous their voices are and yet jungkook sings live beautifully but because it sounds live and not like the studio track (because it's actually fully live) he doesn't get many compliments. and this is not to bash the other members. singers are going to have bad days. but i have seen jungkook perform on a bad throat day and he sounds off but still sings loud enough to be heard over the music. and i truly appreciate and admire that. here in this video, they all sound amazing. but in other performances, i have watched reactors who compliment live vocals that arent live and then jungkook, who is singing live, rarely even gets mentioned. and i am not saying that the other members are lip syncing when performing live. they are technically singing. but it's so quiet that you can just barely hear them but the backing track is louder than their live vocals. i get that JK's voice is very standard for kpop. jimin has the high crying sound, v has the deep breathy sultry tone, jin has the honey belting tone, and jungkook is the standard mid range breathy singer so its a common "tone" in kpop. i think because i know all he does to help others and when he sings live on vlive with no mic and no backing vocals, he just does it so effortlessly every time and his voice is so soothing and beautiful that it impresses me a ton. he worked really hard in the first few years of being in BTS to perfect his vocals on his own without a teacher because he didn't want to lose his tone. he was worried he would lose all the color and textures to his voice if he took lessons to make his voice "perfect" so he said he sang at any chance he could to practice and develop his voice slowly over time. and because he felt like he was lacking as the main vocalist and that it was a big position to fill at such a young age, he looked at all the other main vocalists in the groups around him at the time and thought they were "cool and handsome" and he was just a shy 15 year old kid who didn't compare. i am in love with his soothing breathy midtone and i love all of the other members voices too. ESPECIALLY Taehyung. but this is actually one of the reasons i stopped watching reactors react to bts. i felt like reactors only focused on the same person in every video (usually their bias) and would compliment members voices when i could tell the voice they were complimenting was the backing vocal and it would frustrate me. i find it funny how a lot of ARMY like to act like BTS never use backing vocals or lip sync notes they cant hit that day. and i am a HUGE ARMY and i used to defend them hard too. but as i got older and i matured in my thinking and understanding, i started realizing that they arent perfect and are going to not always be able to sing live when they are expected to. and i watched a few reactors that are vocal coaches or singers react to bts live performances and they would call out the backing vocals used and everyone in the comments would freak out on them and say it wasnt true but it's really obvious if you pay attention. you can tell if the voice has NO wobble and NO imperfections that it is probably not live. unless they are standing/sitting still. but if they are dancing and moving around, those vocals should have SOME slight imperfections, you should hear the breathing and you should notice a sound volume difference when the mic goes away from and closer to their mouths. i like hearing those things because it proves that they are singing live. if it sounds exactly like the studio recording, it isnt live. (not even for jungkook). here, you can hear those slight imperfections and i love it! they all sound beautiful and LIVE! and i am all here for their wonderful performance. just had to rant for a bit. sorry. :)

I'm Japanese, so when I listen to this song, Jin and JK are amazing. The two of them do not sing in a form that is easy for them to sing, but sing in Japanese as it is and deliver their feelings. It may be easy to change the consonants or put strange breaks between words to make it easier to sing, but the heart of the song cannot reach. Of course, it's not the native language, so it's difficult for everyone, but Jin and JK have chosen a difficult path. I appreciate and respect them.
Tae’s voice is a wonderful thing to me, his low tone supplies a beautiful base and support, then to match the others in the higher range 😮. He once announced proudly that Your eyes tell was his favourite song. I adore his voice. BTS is the perfect blend. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
For me…just going to say that while I don’t disagree that JM and TH kill this, I also think it is in my top approx 10 BTS songs that show off EVERY member’s unique abilities regardless of how many lines they sing. I feel a sense of awe and OT7 appreciation every time a new member takes the lead. 🤷♀️💜

Tae's range in this song was completely freaken awesome! He had said this was his favorite song by JK. The other guys are used to singing high but Tae has a lower voice. You should watch it with the English Subs. Its a beautiful song. I believe this was during the pandemic and they couldnt have an audience. Jimin always has a high singing register.
