for your question there is a little lore. If you watch the trailer for this album “Good Bones” they repeat the phrase easy, crazy, hot. This album is called Easy so people are guessing that the next album will be called Crazy and the last in the trilogy will be Hot. (Kinda like how their first three albums were a trilogy as well Fearless, Anti-fragile, & Unforgiven where they also teased the next album name in the trailers/MV) This is a B-side track so the mv isn’t going to be as expensive/planned with as much lore as the main title track like Unforgiven or Easy. This was more just like a chill bop that blew up and they decided to make an mv for it like Impurities on their first album and then Eve, Psyche, and Blackbeards Wife from the Unforgiven album. They are more just performance videos with more production with a little lore here or there.

Mr. Bang, chairman of hybe(bts) is involved with this group. The style of the songs and people for the music, like nile rodgers in unforgiving, he brings to the group. So like bts they don't have a style. They are a performance group, songs are just better watching the choreo. They have messaging in all the songs, mostly about their story. the girls are involved with the songs. (Interview on the zach sang show talks about Mr. bang and the messaging process) They are pushing kpop boundaries for female artists. With things like the hip movement of smart to Yunjin solo release of "I != Doll" which has aggressive language and messaging. In the teaser they were singing, 'Easy, CRAZY, hot', So crazy might be the title track of the next release. They have a history of leaving clues at the end of videos, fearless and anti fragile.

I understand what you said and I like your reaction. It's a shame there wasn't a fearnot in the chat. This song wasn't even the B side to be promoted (Swang Song was the B side), but it was so successful that they decided to make an MV. And as there were accusations that le sserafim was appropriating someone else's culture, etc., I believe that Hybe chose to make an MV with this aesthetic and setting as if it celebrated the culture carried by the Amapiano rhythm(?). About Smart and Crazy: Smart is because it is the title of the song and Crazy, the fandom assumes that it is the title of the next CB. In the album's intro she repeats "Easy, Crazy, Hot, I can make it." several times. We had Easy as the title, and the next ones are thought to be Crazy and Hot. I love your work, I would be happy to see more reactions from Le sserafim. Did you see Impurities from the previous CB? The lighting is wonderful.

05:42 Unforgiven was a title track though, Smart seems like it wasn't super planned to have a MV, and is more of a dressed up choreo video, especially if you compare it to Easy, this album's title track. Although, it could also just come back to stylistic and direction differences, I haven't looked into who directed each MV.

I really respect you for taking the ttime to analyze the MV and explain all your thoughts and reasonings for those thoughts. I really learned a lot in this reaction. I honestly think this MV was sorta unplanned and they made it because so many people were asking for it. Take the Impurities MV, for example, which was also a B-Side but seemed to have been thought out more in advance so the shots and directorial decisions made more sense as wel. I still really like this song and it's my favorite on the album but yeah they could've thought the MV out a bit more. The ' CRAZY' at the end could be a teaser for the next comeback.

the thing about "smart" and the school outfits is like a visual that people used to see as something that proofs their intelligence. the crazy part we got two possible explanations: the first one is about their teaser album called goood bones (it's pretty af, you should watch) there we have a sentence: easy, crazy, hot, i can make it Saying that they make it look easy (title track) they hot, and often called crazy by the haters, and they saying they got lucky. the second possible explanation about the crazy part is that le sserafim often gives us a "spoiler" about the next song or album incoming, so i think the "crazy" can also be a spoiler about their next ep. i don't get it all about the MV, but it was a b-side MV, almost a perfomance video, so it should be more simple about the message and concept, but i might be wrong.

I have said it before on their previous song Easy. I am just not crazy about this new style. Leaning more towards that New Jeans sound. Very chill. I personally like their harder songs like Unforgiven and Fearless. I love them have their lightstick, but this album and the new style is starting lose me a little. Still love the girls. Not giving up on them though!

This wasn't even meant to be the promoted b-side, let alone the promoted title track. They filmed this is one day. It was a last minute decision and we were lucky to get anything after they had basically already done their whole promotion cycle for the album. And this is coming from a group under the richest Kpop agency by far, most groups don't get multiple MV's per comeback. Their title tracks are Fearless, Antifragile, Unforgiven and Easy. All of those have high budget music videos. Then Blue Flame (deleted from RU-vid due to debut scandal nonsense), Impurities, Eve Psyche and The Bluebeard's Wife and now Smart are the promoted b-sides with music videos. Of those Impurities is really incredible.

The next album will be called 'Crazy'.

smart is a b-side, they're not gonna pour tons of money into the production of a b-side mv unless they know for sure its gonna be as popular as the title track (Easy)

Le Sserafim has received a lot of hate and abuse from kpop fans and the album Easy is basically them pushing back and saying that they don't care about the hate and they'll push higher.

The Normal KPOP, the label will only release one M/V per album released. Recently Le Sserafim released Mini-Album titled "EASY". The album consists 5 tracks. Among the 5 tracks, they have the primary M/V and B Sides MV. 1. EASY - released date: 02/19/2024 is the Primary Sound Track. I highly recommend you watch this one since you are fond of cinematography. 2. SMART - released date: 03/05/2024 is a B Track. Since it's a B Track a lot of times, they focused more on Choreography. The SMART M/V is considered like a Bonus or an extra M/V due to the Public demand that fall in love with the Choreography and the very first KPOP genre had ever used which is Ampiano.

My speculation: The transition of School Uniforms to Tropical has something to do with their lost member. Le Sserafim originally had 6 members and now they only have 5 members left. The lost member name KIM GARAM was a high school student, the visual of the group, and was wrongly accused by K-Netizens of bullying. KIM GARAM has been removed by their label HYBE because of this matter. Giving in, sacrificing their member just to give satisfaction to the media. If you read carefully the lyrics, they expressed their agony. If you pay attention to the lyrics, they want to express, the chorus goes: Baby, you can call me mean-mean-mean-mean-mean I don't give a SHIT-SHIT-SHIT-SHIT-SHIT The beauty and the brains I got both on me But living like a "villain" is what I need So I just wanna be me-me-me-me Loving what I see-see-see-see-see The lyricist of the song is one of the members named HUH Yunjin "Jennifer", she is a US Citizen who grew up and studied in Brooklyn, New York. The choreo though is too sexy for Eunchae! gah. I love both songs. Still need to hear the album. They all slayed. My wreckers were wrecking hell though. Sigh. My bias is Kazuha and my wreckers are Chaewon and Yunjin. They sampled Doja Cat's - Woman by the way. Did u notice? Unforgiven is my fav song by them. i am so glad i looked into them more after that. =0} Their song Easy that u saw has lore. This song paid homage to Doja Cat for her song. I'm glad they are branching out to different style music. I know some will say they are copying Tyla, but you can't copy something that has already been done multiple times over the last decade.

Well this makes a little more sense with more information. With this being a B side and just throwing it out to promote the album I can see how it falls a little flat. Maybe the solo dancer is the regular person taking inspiration. But they are pushing a lot of boundaries about societal norms. And the easter egg of crazy at the end is interesting.....new album name?

This song it's a b Side , so that means it wasn't supposed to have an official music video, but it went so viral that it ended up being more popular than the main song, that's why you see it simpler than their other videos, they had to do everything quickly to take advantage of the popularity of the song
