Ogni Pietra in Italian and "Olimpico" in English was written by Ukrainian /Russian composer Igor Krutoy especially for Dimash voice and to be performed during the Opening Ceremony of the II European Olympic Games in Minsk in 2019 and it was the first collaborative work which composer Igor Krutoy and Russian poetess Liliya Vinogradova This is an inspiring song to encourage athletes to find their inner power to compete. Dimash performed the song with his powerful and beautiful voice, between soprano and tenor ranges. Stunning!!! ❤️🎤🌹🌹👏👏👏

Igor Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. Who will be 29 years old in May. This song was originally written for the European Games in 2019. Dimash perform it there and unfortunately COVID hit! This was performed in Kazakhstan. This was his first solo concert in his homeland! It was amazing!

Dimash was trained in dramatic performance arts in Opera and also in Musical Theatre, so, yes, he can do Epic! This performance was the first where Igor Krutoy had written a piece especially for 'The Voice of Dimash'. (After all, who else on the planet could sing it!?) In fact, he was quite nervous before going on stage. As you can see, the venue and audience was huge for this; the 2019 Opening Ceremony of the European Games,and of course many hundreds of millions more watching on TV / On-line from every home country. So this meant a great opportunity for much bigger audience exposure for Dimash, now into Western Europe. The songs lyrics are all about urging the athletes to go forth and do their best. # Even MORE impressive is how he soldiered on despite his inner ear monitors not working, for much of the piece. You'll notice he repeatedly touches them, trying to signal to the sound engineers that he was 'getting nothing'!, whilst trying to make those movements look like part of the performance. The relaxation of strain on his face as he steps forward after the end note tells the whole story, of just how focussed he had to be to get through this as professionally as he did. Good thing he has perfect pitch and timing isn't it!?!

There has never been a musician and meistersinger to rival this young man and yes, he composes too and some of his songs are equally as fine as those of Igor Krutoy. Dimash is the reason that Igor came out of retirement and both are perfectionists but love working together, as there are no ego problems in their working relationship, just mutual respect and fondness. Great reaction. Remember that Dimash is a Classically trained Opera Singer. He does not just hit the notes. He "acts" the song out. Those "looks" and his whole performance is a package. I'm a huge progrock fan (Tool, Dream Theater, Rush, etc...), and this venue (and many others like this) should actually not be my cup of tea. But I can't stop watching it. Dimash is marvelous. And Igor with this piece has gotten my respect and forgiveness for the softcore belle époque pop-music genre he'd sold his soul for many decades ago. Cheers from Russia.

I think it’s time for you to experience Dimash being restrained. It’s as impressive as these ‘big’ numbers. There are two songs I recommend: ‘Samaltau’, particularly the performance for the 2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival. It’s just him in his home studio with two instrumentalists, one of whom is Olzhas Qurmanbek, the master Kobyz player who you saw on Stranger. It’s a haunting traditional Kazakh song written about 100 years ago. The other is Ikanaide from the Tokyo Jazz Festival in the following year, sung in Japanese. Again it’s him in a studio, so you feel as if you’re there in the room. Spine tingling. Both are on his channel.

If you noticed earlier he had trouble with his ear piece and with the microphone, but the way he went about it tells you how much of a professional singer he is.

One thing I remember most after him going through the contest, I AM SINGER, his dad ask him if he was sure he was ready to do this? Meaning was he ready to expand on his own. He said YES! Actually, his concerts are generally more than 3 and a half hours long, he LOOOVES the stage, the crowd, and leaves EVERYTHING out on the stage ... he would stay on all night if his musicians and dancers weren't worn out, haha! This was sung at the European Games. Not sure what year. Can't afford a $100 donation. But whether you air it or not, you should treat yourself to Dimash singing "Ave Marie." Composed by Igor Krutoy (Jewish) and sung by Dimash (Muslim). A beautiful tribute to the Mother Jesus, neither of those faiths.
