I sometime feel like we "consume" BTS and its members - we eat them up and expect them to meet/serve our needs rather than their own. RM said that he started working on this song (I believe) in 2017/2018/2019, when they were having a very hard time with their increased fame and international recognition. The pressure to become who they had never been - the push to sing entirely in English for example - really changed who they felt they were. RM was particularly affected by this, I think. It was good to encourage people during the pandemic, but they got trapped - they were planning on taking a break and doing their military service starting in 2020, but the pandemic upended everything, and they worked hard to comfort ARMY and provide content/comfort. It took a toll on them, and although ARMY enjoyed the content, I wonder if we realize how greedy we are at their expense. They are real people, with real lives and things they want to do - I hope ARMY can be respectful about this rather than worrying about what BTS does for them.
Agree 💯- these same sentiments crossed my mind back at the fallout of the Festa Dinner in June. When Joonie's voice cracked as he described his struggle and reality of not being allowed to grow as a person because of the pressure of the industry & Army's expectations, I lost it. 😭 Namjoon is a very proud Korean who loves his culture and country. It is HIS HOME. It is not our place to make any demands for a person to be, do, think or feel otherwise. For that, he has my highest respect 🙏🏻 👏 🙌🏼 💜.
being fans and artist just screamed difference.. we can't blame the fans for supporting their artist thinking they were doing it for the artist, since ARMY did not gain anything.. meanwhile the artist receiving support from their fans must've thought they need to do more to show their gratitude.. I do not think ARMY are being greedy at all, the thing is BTS's work ethic and their sincerity in their works just delivered, ARMY love to share it, and brings more exposure and support for BTS.. this cycle did not understood by the media, and some hater take form as a media too, and they are the one who sometimes interpret support as expectation.. Let's just wish BTS and ARMY just continue the wonderful journey ahead..💜💜💜💜

You are at your grave, but not in it. The excessive explosion of the rise to the top almost took you out. But it didn't. You get to enjoy that Lovely night. You all wisely decided to pause. To be a human being instead of a human doing. Now with your stunningly exquisite view on your glorious mountaintop you can breathe in deeply until you recapture your tortured soul. I don’t even really have words not like Namjoon does to explain how deeply I feel it. His rawness absolutely comes through. It’s so honest and I love that he had to convince her to be on it because she’s a rock/punk singer and was worried her voice would overwhelm the song but it pops like a firework, absolutely perfect. Also the fact our precious Docskim who had been with the guys in their traveling band and a sometimes producer (who wrote Lie with/for Jimin) was going to give up making music burned out and uninspired himself but making THIS song restarted him, lit his spark again. It’s that powerful a song.
What I find amazing about BTS and especially RM's music is that it OFTEN elicits an emotional response before you even know what the words mean. I love it! It keeps me coming back for more! (inhale inhale exhale I WANT MORE J-Hope)
I hope you react to the making of the MV. i had never seen Korean traditional fireworks (Nakhwa-nori) before, they are so beautiful and tranquil. As an American I thank BTS for introducing be to the Korean culture. I'm so thankful I'm trying to learn Hangul 방탄소년단 감사합니다
I adore Youjeen's vocals in here so much. They are pure, powerful but with the hint of pain that elevates the song. I literally cried watching this the first time.

This song floored me when I listened to it thru Jino’s youtube set and that was before I even knew the lyrics. To be honest I didn’t know the lyrics until Roscoe read them because I already knew they were gonna be raw. I cried, not for myself but for the pain Namjoon and the others have gone thru in order to make Army happy. I know that the majority now realise the importance of their need to take a break before they totally burn out. At some point in life you have to be selfish and do what’s best for you even though it may result in some walking away. It is always surprising who you think will be there and who is actually there on your darkest days. When you long for the dawn, like Namjoon says because you believe everything looks a little better in the daytime. I love this song. Youjeen’s voice is haunting and you can feel the pain. Namjoon knew what he was doing when he chose her for this song. I have to brace myself every time I hear it because the tears come by the time it gets to the end and I feel exhausted. I can’t begin to imagine how Namjoon and the rest of the guys feel. And as for Roscoe, I am watching this after the major changes to the comfy couch channel and discord where he went into more detail about why this song in particular hit him like it did. I am also glad that he is taking a break to look after himself and spend time with loved ones. I watched an interview with Jackson Wang earlier today where he talked about loneliness and depression he was going thru a year or so ago and he is still trying to cope with it. There is a lot of loneliness out there as the world becomes more unrecognizable day by day. People complain about a “woke” culture and in any situation things can always be taken too far. There is very rarely a happy medium with so many differing opinions, but you’ve got to take what helps you and run with it. Being able to articulate that “actually, no I’m not okay” whether through spoken word, song or acting, saves lives. Either for those doing it or for those watching/listening. Pain is pain but it also has an unusual kind of beauty that lets us know we are still alive.
Roscoe, there comes a time when you have to grab the memories and feelings that hurt our souls and crumple them up and throw them away. If BTS taught me anything, it was to go forward and keep looking ahead, otherwise we can't see what's in front of us. This song is sad,beautiful and I think a goodbye to just one part of Namjoon story. I'm happy for the guys to all experience something other than the grind and pressure of their lives. We will miss them but look how much they've given us, they gave me my life back💜💜💜💜💜🇦🇺💜💜💜💜💜 They will come back to us💜
I agree. But before you can throw them away you have to process through them. Confront them. Digest them. Scream at them. Learn from them. Then spit them out. Crumple them down to nothing!They have served their purpose. You no longer have to live under their power that stirs up your heart and body and soul when you hear someone elses life challenges through lyrics. I saw Roscoe's face and body language when he watched this. It grabbed him and wouldn't let him go. I saw Roscoe edit himself. But as we all know at the appropriate time and place he shared with us his challenge. Good for Roscoe! Process it out. Discover it's hold on you. Then when you have learned how to let go of it. LET GO. It takes time. It takes grief. It takes tears. But you are right. Crumple it up and throw it away. Is it hard to do? Yes. I've been crumbling the last 4 years nd just now have been feeling a break through. A healing. Praise God. And prayers for Roscoe as he faces his "stuff" on his life's journey.
This whole album I just want to scream “is somebody hugging this man because by gosh SOMEBODY HUG him!” It’s a full on maeknae Jimin emergency. Of course I also felt like he purged a lot of things by making it/releasing it and is in such a better place now.

Namjoon said he has been working on this song, the thought of being a "flowerwork" instead of a firework since 2016, and he said in the mv behind the scenes that he was so happy that the visuals he had been imagining were coming to life in this music video. Such a deep, thoughtful, emotional song that literally comes from Namjoon's soul. It gave us a glimpse into how he has been feeling since the beginning of his career and the last festa finally making sense. What a gift.
I love this song. I cried when I first heard it (immediately followed by a laughing 'what are these guys doing to me...?!' lol) As an artist myself, I can relate to this. tho on a MUCH smaller scale. 💜💜💜💜💜
I am so touch with Joon’s Indigo album especially Wild Flower, he is so transparent and raw with us - brought us along his roller coaster ride of emotion struggles and crisis - the storm, fireworks, barren land, calm flower field. Very deep and personal song, I can see why he said that this song is so precious to him. I just wish them to be happy. Find that individual flair, take a break, go explore/experimenting stuff that you want. Take your time, it’s okay we can wait. I watched and enjoyed some of your previous video reactions this weekend. And I especially loved this one. It hit me in the heart too. But I didn't hold back. I boohooed. I was wondering why this MV was not nominated for a Billboard award. It's cinematography is stunningly exquisite. The fireworks were real because RM requested it live. The song is hauntingly beautiful. I remember writing in response to.."I do wish me a Lovely Night." I did so wish him a Lovely Night. Of all people he deserved it. He was so burned out. Lost. Exhausted from all the busy ness and fame. Never ending schedule. The final shot of him lying in the field of flowers calmed my aching spirit. He was finally getting his wish of a Lovely Night! And you finally were able to experience a Lovely Night...after sorting everything out. I hope you wrote RM and told him. He would Love to hear from you and your personal BTS journey.
