Director Reacts - XG - 'NEW DANCE' (Multiverse MV) 

Have you watched the original MV to New Dance? This video gives hints to how some of the moves were derived. Also the girl with the sunglasses that joins them is Sienna Lalau, the choreographer. Her dance crew from The Lab also joined.

I think you were getting somewhere with just having fun. Their whole lore is being literal aliens. Jurin sees humans doing day to day things like putting on perfume, human being walked by the dogs, kids doing a conga line having fun, and makes a dance out of it that she "transmits" to the rest of XG, hence their eyes changing, before they start dancing. The lady at the beach whose eyes changed is Sienna Lalau and her crew The Lab. She's been their choreographer from their debut till now on almost all of their songs. There is another version of the New Dance video that was released with the song. This Multi-Verse one was filmed in LA when they were here for K-CON and were able to include Sienna and The Lab.

That’s exactly what they’re saying!!! XG always has more meaning to their Music and MVs.

The album concept is about them being aliens. Notice in the beginning Jurin's eyes when she stood up. Ties in with Girl Gang which ties in the original video of New Dance.

basically the concept is: they're aliens (we can see it in grl gvng and puppet show, one shows them on their "planet" and the other shows them "arriving" according to jurin), and on this video they just arrived to earth and learned the moviments on the choreography by observing human behaviors, just like the lady putting on perfume 😁

I too felt the message is about getting your own groove on, not following a specific set of moves as is typically the case with this type of song. This is notable because each of the 7 members do their own dance while singing “I just learned a new dance”. So it’s like go and learn your own new dance move and have fun with it! I like this message better and it suits the individuality of XG (every member is unique)

Xg's journey is more understandable when you watch M/Vs in release order. and yes the mini album is a concept/story line.

HOLY SHIT THE FACT THAT THE CHOREO FOR THIS SONG SHOWCASES A LOT OF DANCE CRAZE/TRENDS FROM THE PAST DECADES WHICH AREN'T EVEN MADE INTENTIONALLY TO BE TRENDY BUT WENT VIRAL. YOU MIGHT JUST BE RIGHT

I just assumed it was about learning new dances in general, and/or dancing the way you want (just feeling yourself - vibing) and essentially claiming it to be a new dance because it is your own “creation.” I’m hopeful that these ladies will have more input on their music going forward. According to song credits, they don’t currently participate in any part of the production. Which, honestly, I am okay with generally because some people just like performing, y’know? Not every dancer is a choreographer, for example. And with XG’s intense and lengthy training process, I think it is good that they have been able to enjoy themselves; chill a bit and just focus on their debut year and of course the NON-STOP nature of this year. Also…if some don’t have any interest in doing songwriting, that’s perfectly fine. But considering the way they have been presented, especially the rappers, I’d like to hear from them personally on this matter. [Whether they want/plan to contribute to XG’s music going forward.] **Fellow Alphaz, if they do have input but it was pre-songwriting, let me know. :) I’m subbed to the Alphaz fan club -I don’t want to miss out on seeing them live and I’ve been missing TONS of my other favorites- and Cocona makes these rather deep, reflective posts about everyday life. I’d be surprised if she isn’t doing some songwriting.
