Never thought I'd see Roscoe enjoying a song in Pashto, my mother tongue, native to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. Thank you so much for this video! Loved it! ❤️
Yes coke studio has always been live since its inception 15 years ago. It started out in studio setting music and vocals were live recorded its infamous for not having multiple live session until they get a one they think is good enough to present to the audience . each season involves months of practice session , both for musicians, vocalist. Since season 14 they have incorporated the set setting where each set is made and mv filming is according to the mood of the song. You can see the BTS for each song its where the show practice session and explain the sets themes and how song creating process. Personally I liked how they two sides express their love for each other here . The sad song between two lovers well that's Mehram from last year. This year melancholic songs are 2AM and o yara.
The one-take I am in doubt about. There are some shots in Pasoori and Aayi Aayi where the singers have different hairstyles in a split second, and doesn't seem like the same recording.
In Oriental conceptions of romance, saying "what have you done to me?" is an expression of extreme love. It's a celebration of the intoxication, not a complaint.
It's live music with definitely multiple takes. . . But you're right its about two loved ones who are unfamiliar with each other languages but ready to Welcome each other in their world.
Coke studio does it live past seasons started in a studio , they have started to introduce scene magic and collaboration you won’t believe , this season they are exploring all most places in Pakistan and singers from that region ❤❤❤
All of these songs are recorded live. The male singer is singing in Pashto. Rehma is a Los Angeles based Pakistani singer. Obviously, she's singing in English. Five songs have been released this season, so far. Do check them out. 1. Ayi Ayi 2. 2 a.m. 3. Maghron La 4. Harkalay 5. O' Yaara If you want more details about these songs, every song has a BTS video explaining each and every detail about the making of the song. Harkalay means welcome. Gulay means sweetheart.
@@eeejay235 Actually, it's not. For all Coke Studio songs, they practice a few times before the actual shoot. That's what you see in the BTS. The final shoot is recorded live. That is my understanding.
Coke studio try to do LIVE and almost always practice to execute live in one take! Your reaction was ❤ I was moving when you were moving even though I've listened to it 3 million times since it's release 😅 Only just realised how the raspiness of his voice really does merge into the bass! Good spot now I can't unhear it 😅. You're right, this is about two cultures and love and acceptance. Harkalay means welcome. Welcoming and embracing each others' culture! Thanks for listening to Coke Studio Pk 😊
The song is recorded live in same take as the vdieo we see in the song, and thats why they have in-ear monitors...it ofcourse goes through post production editing. This is Pashto song a language spoken in North western Pakistana nd Eastern Afghanistan by Pakhtoons (Pathans). This song as you said does try to cover two people who belong to v different worlds talking to each other, while guy singing in Pashto and is from a area which is v negatively potrayed in the media due to Taliban etc. even thou they are the most hospitable people on earth without a doubt (I am not a Pathan and cant understand the language and culturally different from them being a Punjabi in Pakistan but I can attest and witnesed their hospitability can surpass anyone) and also they have rich vulture of music and art their capital city Peshawar is one of the oldest city in South Asia which was one of the main trade route here and thus people coming and settling from everywhere, Pakistanis are welcoming but Pathans are just on another level, and on other hand girl singing in English probably potraying an outsider or expat and the we listen to their dialogues.
Welcome again to this part of the world i also like the fact that in the end both pashto and english merge into eachother that u forget its in pashto or eng
I absolutely 💯 love this collaboration. It’s so Amazing. I’m so happy to see more western reactors listen to Coke Studio #14 and #15. Bangladesh the Journey is Magical too…it’s their first from last year. I’m Indigenous Native American and I must admit I listen primarily to International Music. There’s such a variety of fantastic music in the world. I believe this is about different culture but both Pakistani. 🙆🏻♀️💫🎶🌌🙌🏽
Hey Roscoe, I’ve seen some of your older Coke Studio reactions and was waiting for you to start Season 15. I like your take on these songs and how you react to them. Coke Studio songs are most definitely recorded live. I would suggest watching the Magical Journey BTS videos that accompany all their songs to get an in-depth view into the whole process right from the inception of the song to the set design, costumes and everything in between.
You are right Roscoe, coke studio Pakistan is always live even in these music videos. You can see in behind the scene videos on their channel. In previous season they even made some videos one take audio with one take video.
you should watch the magical journey of this song uploaded on coke studio channel, they have explained whole thought process ,set design , cast , everything in it
They usually have one take audio and video with post production. At least season 14 was one take video and audio. They may have loosened it up now to multiple tapes because that is a hard one to pull off
Thats the whole speciality and the whole thing about coke studio thst it is 100% live which is why the result is so beautiful and why so much more work goes into it to get every element right in 1 go and 1 take. Not only the singers and the music but also the choreography
@@eeejay235 yes they are the rehersals so that they can choreograph it etc. And then they have that 1 final live take where everything goes together. It's a basic fact that since season 1 it has been about live music
Yes, They do live. 2000% sure. Watch BTS of this song by coke studio. I'm watching your reaction video from Texas. Being a texan and Pakistani by culture and family. I can relate how enjoyable this song is
I feel like there's a story here. Two people from different worlds have fallen in love. The guy's culture the Pashtoons are welcoming her into their fold & in the end they become one.
They rehearse and record it in one take, you can see the rehearsing part in BTS. If a single person mess up on the set, then they restart. That's what used to be but not sure about season 14, and 15. Post production is amazing though
I absolutely love COKE STUDIO …PAKISTAN. This is a SONG extending WELCOME. If you haven’t reacted to COKE STUDIO before …Please react to last years “Go” one artists sings in Pakistani and the other sings in English. I love this AMAZING Song. She’s from LA and ZAHOOR is from I believe N. Pakistan next to Afghanistan. “HARKALAY means WELCOME”. By the way I’m an Alphaz but I primarily listen to international music. 🤍🤍🤍 N. California
Herclay means welcome There are two stories 1. for the rain 2. for love , These areas are very dry people wait for rain so now as rain enters they are so happy and welcoming it . This song is in two languages Pashto and English
Great reaction! Its Live, always. Watch the BTS (The Magical Journey). The song is about two people from different cultures speaking different languages falling in love. Which is basically forgetting differences and finding commonalities and beauty in the differences and accepting each other. Harkalay Means Welcome in Pashto (one of the Languages spoken in Northern Pakistan and Afghanistan)
These are one take live recordings… you should definitely look at the “Magic behind…” BTS videos. Just to see how much work / coordination goes into this…
