In Tamil/Malayalam cinema "hero worship" is abundant. Lead Male Actor commands lot of influence in the decision making. The so-called "Producer" nowadays IS a Kandhu Vatti Financier without any knowledge of the moving-making, which irritates "the knowledgeable Director "who knows it all". That's the root cause of the friction between Producer & Director. Exception is AVM Saravanan who probably knows lot more than the best Director around. Everyday, movie making is getting riskier. People lose tons of money & commit suicide (Maniratnam's Brother GV and Ashok Kumar hung themselves). The major culprit is the Huge Budget, mostly bc of the salary of the Lead Male Actor, then everyone else.
Only want to become the Director. Not to respect the investor. What will happen in a company if an employee did not respect the invester of the company.
