Direnzo DRZ_04 Mondial Review: The Riviera Watch 

Sergio...to me you represent everything that is great about the watch industry....thoughtful, innovative designs created with love and passion....well done you sir!

These were the 2 colors I was focused on. Ultimately, I consistently felt the white was the one I'd likely go with and so I did. Now, just 3 months of enduring eager anticipation for delivery of the piece. The dial and hand work set this one appart from the masses of integrated bracelet sport watches out right now. The case and bracelet are fine work, but Direnzo took the more creative and frankly more interesting approach to the dial and hand set. All the other integrated bracelet watches are playing it safe and predictable with plain stick indices and hand sets. I like white dials. Looking back on many of my early watches I bought for myself, I seemed to have naturally gravitated towards the white dial options. The DRZ04's white dial is the most contrast, crisp & clean dial version. Can always see all the details. Where as the meteorite and sunburst fume color dials tend to lose or washout or hide them depending on the light and angle. Additionally, I find the transition between the curved up outer edge of the bowl dial to be much smoother on the white dial. Where as the other color dials I seem to always see a distinct separation where the flat portion and the start of the bowl curved outer portion begins. It's not terrible, but, I think the slick nature of the bowl dial surface contour is slightly diminished because you get that slight break or interruption in the surface flow. I dont ever really see it on the white dial only. If I do, it is much more subdued and less jarring. Maybe this might be refined in final production model for the color dial. But, it sounds like the main ,and possibly only, improvements between the protypes and final production version will be more layers of lume applied and fixing the date wheel numbers alignment. Whatever dial color is your choice, this is sure to be a big hit and another win for Direnzo. * I yield to the possibilities that photos and videos may not be able to reproduce actual dial effect as they may actually appear in the metal in front of my eyes. But, such is what I have to form an onion and purchasing decision.

Excellent review and I totally agree with you views. I’ve considered Tudor Royal, Tissot…will be ordering one in the light blue dial colour. I emailed Direnzo and Sergio promptly replied which was a nice touch. So looking forward to reviewing it. Beautiful watches.

I am really excited by Direnzo, what a find! I find the DRZ 03 absolutely stunning. In fact both the DRZ 03 and DRZ 04 are so beautifully executed that deciding on just one colour is very difficult. I acted quickly and went with the DRZ 04 in meteorite, but I also love the blue and white variants. Sergio is definitely doing something right! I love that a small brand like this can out-play many big boy brands in terms of looks and value, and just hope it will be able live up to high expectations in terms of quality control when it comes to delivering.

I just returned from Hawaii, where I proudly wore both my green DRZ-O2 green dial and my DRZ-03 red dial. I can hardly stop looking at them. I realized that he was going for the land, sea, and now air. I am so in to that theme! I am getting the white dial for my 15th wedding anniversary. She is getting another Hawaiian Bracelet. Sergio has a great future ahead of him. I think his watches will greatly increase in value once the general watch buying public finds out about his talents. Glad I found him.

I love the dials. It's always the dials. Ordered green blue and white, 2 will be offered as gift. I will keep the green. Special and unique bol design.

Great review, I really like everything about this watch except it comes up short on the power reserve. Nice execution on the integrated bracelet.

A nice watch reminiscent of the Tudor North Flag without the ceramic sandwich bezel. Good water resistance. I would like to see a chronometer rated movement and a no date option - guess it keeps the manufacturing cost down and simple.

As an owner of the DRZ 02, I think this is a far more legible dial. The dream would be an on the fly adjustable butterfly clasp at the end of this beautiful tapering bracelet hey-ho nitpicking here. One never finds the perfect watch..White or Green ?

Agree, Direnzo makes amazing watches. Only 03 missed the mark for me. Still prefer the dial on the 02, but prefer the integrated bracelet on this one so it’s a draw for me. I don’t care to have an everyday watch. I have 8 watches, and counting. I love variety. I don’t want to wear the same watch 5,6 days a week. Anyway, love Direnzo’s unburst blue, green, and gray dials. Hope in the future he does a sunburst red, orange, wine, aqua, etc.

I like how you can see the improvements the brand made in comparison to their earlier models. It looks like they listened to their customer and the market. But sadly I am not a fan of integrated bracelets.

I hate to watch a great review only to find almost all current watches "SOLD OUT" and a list of older models "SOLD OUT" too. Good for Direnzo, but bad for those of us who would like to buy a DRZ 04, for example. And the website says nothing about a wait list, just "SOLD OUT." From now on I'm going directly to the brands' websites first to see if any models are available, and if not, skip the review videos. Nothing personal.
