That is so weird! I just tried Dirt 5 for the first time today (bought it on sale on the Xbox store) and I had a nearly identical experience when trying to play online! It was pretty much dead, as you said. I was placed on the exact same course with the exact same car, and the other driver's name was "Dirt 5 Player 02." Hahaha!

This game has same problem as all racing games now. Ruined by Sim racer crowd. They all get worse once the Sim racers put their influence into it. Same thing happened they have completely ruined the top race games like Gran Turismo 7 . Nor surprising the smaller ones getting same treatment
@@Texascudaguyummmmm.. GT7 IS a sim racer. The first game was literally titled Grand Turismo: The Real Driving Simulator. I’d argue nearly the first sim racer.
@MrBlais ummm, gran turismo is a simcade series, always has been, "the real driving simulator" is just marketing, it's on par with both the F1 series and forza motorsport in terms of how realistic it is, the only full sim racers are Rfactor, assetto corsa, project cars 2, IRacing, AMS and raceroom, you have to look at in terms of how realistic it is, some ppl just think the harder it is the more realistic it is, which just isn't true, like most race cars especially Sportscars use traction control, so turning TC off is actually super unrealistic, irl TC only engages when it anticipates tire spin, so if you drive perfectly the TC isn't even a factor
