Jonathan, thank you so much for the videos you have produced. They gave me such guidence as I went through my ssdi process. I had those in leadership over me, my pastor, and myself write letters to the judge giving personal accounts of my decline and I gave a narrative of the abuse and how it has manifested in my life, I was 52 at the time. During my phone interview with the ALJ, he asked me just the required questions and within 5 minutes or so deemed me disabled through the inability to perform any job in the larger economy. My lawyer said that was the fastest hearing she had ever had. Thank you for your guidence.
Thank you for your video. I was 52 (last year) when through EMDR therapy I recalled being sexually abused in church my the 18 year old pastor's son. It has been terrible. I struggle in so many ways. I am a nurse but can barely work the 2 days a week that I'm currently working. I have delayed ptsd, anxiety, depression, anger, body pain, weakness, fatigue, vision problems, heart palpitations etc. In retrospect, I can see so many behaviors caused by this trauma. I always knew something must have happened to me at 4. Strange how our subconscious protects us until we're strong enough to process it. Thanks again

I've been through so much because of childhood sexual abuse. I was hospitalized three times for suicide attempt and spent years in therapy. I had the worst lawyer ever who never asked any questions, just noted that I lost 50lbs one month. I was turned down twice in Wisconsin. I spent 6 months in mendota mental health institution when I was 17 and that's when it all came out. I feel too tired to even deal with it anymore.
Oh my absolute god - I really needed to see this. I'm 48 years old and was sexually abused by various men in supposed positions of trust, family, mums boyfriends ect. I've always understood the link between that and my 28 year long class A drug addiction but I have been wracking my brain for the last five years or so as to why all of a sudden at my age its affecting me so much more than ever before, either at the time or in my 20,s and 30,s and I put it down to maybe all the talk about prosecutions of historical sexual abuse but what you have said makes so much sense to me and makes me feel like I'm not a weirdo, that in your 40,s it's common for it to become more of a problem thank you so much
I'm won my case because I was hospitalized from CPTSD, dissociation and major depression. In partial care and in 2 halfway houses. Ive seen many therapists. It was all caused by repeated emotional, sexual and physical abused from toddler age to 17. I wish I couldve had help when I was a child instead of in my mid twenties
Wow. Same story. Just a different person. I feel guilty for being on disability but when I try to function how everyone else does, I see why I'm on it. The complex PTSD is CRIPPLING, the mood swings, the social anxiety. I'm only 31 and ive been through 3 lifetimes of trauma. People look at me and hear me talk and wonder why I'm on disability. Until they get to know me and see my life. Until they see how what happened to me effects my every day life.
Thank you I didn't know that would be a reason for SSI for a child. Waiting on a determination for my daughter and social security never asked this when I did her application. I will get ahold of them. Thank you

My niece is an adult child of sexual abuse including rape by her stepfather Earl Queen. He was doing this while still in the AirForce. He didn’t retire but denied reenlistment convicted years later on civilian side and served 12 years at Monroe prison washington state. My niece has had constant struggles and can’t work due to other physical issues and ptsd. Broken relationships etc can she qualify for ssdi without having enough work credits.
