Hi. I had the same problem with my Samsung series 7 iSSD. But I'm not good in de-soldiering FPGA and recently I just killed my electric razor by de-soldering (replacing) accumulator. Probably overheated other components. So I decided to go another way - trying to perform a kind of low level formatting of the iSSD. 1. Boot Linux from flash drive (I used Ubuntu Live 16.04). I downloaded 'rufus', downloaded ubuntu iso image and created bootable flash, then selected to boot from this flash in BIOS. from now all commands are issued by 'root' user, and 'sudo su -' is necessary to run for getting root privileges. 2. Check if iSSD is detectable: # hdparm -I /dev/sdb /dev/sdb: ATA device, with non-removable media Model Number: SanDisk iSSD P4 8GB Serial Number: 113800125269 Firmware Revision: SSD 9.14 Transport: Serial, ATA8-AST, SATA Rev 2.6 Standards: Used: ATA-8-ACS revision 2d Supported: 8 7 6 5 ... 3. Perform low level TRIM of the disk: # blkdiscard /dev/sdb 4. Perform low level secure-erase-enhanced (as written here: askubuntu.com/questions/253096/low-level-format-of-hard-drive ) # hdparm --user-master u --security-set-pass llformat /dev/sdb # hdparm --user-master u --security-erase-enhanced llformat /dev/sdb # hdparm -I /dev/sdb 5. Now I can even read from/write to /dev/sdb without errors. But this also helps to boot faster.
Real gutzy proceder there. I always get nervous when I see a screwdriver near a motherboard. I have a friend who is giving me a Samsung laptop with destroyed hinges that I plan on converting into a desktop computer, and he was having a problem with a long startup time with it. Leide bekomme ich sie nicht einmal auseinander... alle Schrauben raus, trotzdem noch zusammen. Da sind bestimmt noch irgendwelche Plasiknasen, die dann garantiert ab brechen! Egal, die Kabel gibt´s eh nicht einzeln... Btw: Hättest du das ISSD nicht im Bios deaktivieren können??? Ja, neue Motorrad-Videos wären eine gute Idee: - Motorradhandschuhe, warum die alle nicht wasserdicht sind - Motorradstiefel, warum die (meisten) auch nicht wasserdicht sind... - elektronisches Geraffel auf der Reise, Netbook, Cams, Drohnen, Navis...zzgl. Netzkabel und Zubehör, warum der Berg immer größer wird... ;-) Bei meiner diesjährigen Tour (Motorradreise Spanien 2017) hatte ich so einen Berg von Zeug dabei... ;-) Beim letzten Besuch bei der Tante (Louis) bekam ich eine "Motorrad" Leseprobe. Darin war ein Reise-Enduro Vergleichstest: 250-290kg schwere Brocken, voll gestopft mit Elektronik, 20.000€ teuer.... die wurden dann mit leeren Seitenkoffern und ohne Reisegepäck spazieren gefahren... REISE-Enduro Test ohne Reisegepäck??? Fällt denen das nicht irgendwann mal selber auf... ;-( Das "beste" aber, die Reifen waren nach 4000km schon zu 40% abgefahren... d.H. die Kisten sind Fernreise-untauglich! Mein Reifen hatten vor Spanien 3,1mm, danach 2mm. Also 1,1mm auf 6000km. DAS ist Reise-Motorrad!
+Peter M. Moin, ja solche Plastiknasen gab es hier natürlich auch. Die muss man mit einem kleinen Schraubendreher oder dem Daumennagel VORSICHTIG lösen. Ob sich eine Reparatur lohnt kommt drauf an, wie alt die Laptops sind. Ich habe damals das Bildschirmkabels meines Samsung NC10 gewechselt. Ersatz gab es bei ebay. Leider konnte man den ExpressCache nicht im Bios deaktivieren...das habe ich natürlich zuvor versucht ;-) Jaja die undichten Motorradhandschuhe wären wirklich ein Thema...darum verwende ich im Winter Lenkerstukpen. Nach 15 Jahren habe ich tatsächlich Motorradstiefel gefunden, die dicht sind. Damit das auch so bleibt, laufe ich mit ihnen keinen Meter sondern nehme immer Ersatzschuhe mit. Stimmt über das elektronische Geraffel könnte ich mal nen Video machen...immerhin ermöglicht es einem die Finanzierung der Reise von unterwegs. Hallo Tobi! Ich habe versucht, bei meinem 10 Jahre alten Acer das gebrochene Bildschirmkabel zu ersetzen... hat leider nicht geklappt. Sind 5 Kabel, das Gehäuse ist mit der Hauptplatine verklebt und beim Zerlegen ist mir der ganze Sch... auseinander gebrochen.... egal, war eh nix mehr Wert! Zumindest die Festplatte und die Speicherbausteine habe ich retten können... Medion Akoya gehen dagegen problemlos auseinander... die sind Reparatur-freundlicher.
Hello Tobi, I have a similar Laptop. I did not know that there was internal SSD and I used a Disk Utility which partitioned it into two (3GB and 19GB). I installed another copy of Windows10 and the 3GB appears as D: whereas the 19GB appears as G: with a question mark on it. Is it possible to return the iSSD to factory condition and re-install the original Windows8 that came with it. Thanks in advance.
ASUS UXVD32 : ISSD 24Go broken (chdsk /r shows errors), impossible to repair install W10 from live CD I've removed this SANSISK 24 Go make a small ball of aluminium paper for better dispersion temp. on the top of the surface of component SANDISK remove pan of your soldering iron heat the aluminium ball keeping your soldier iron vertically with small pressure on component use small screw driver to lift up component by one corner after few minutes component is detached from mother board now you don't see SANDISK in setup boot on live CD and install W10 on HDD it works for me but be careful, your can DESTROY YOUR PC.
