Once the springs are released, turn it over before separating the halves. That way the transfer bars stay where they belong and can be put back correctly.

Thank you. I recently noticed that mine was not taking weight, let alone moving to show the weight number. Either it has rusted out or someone over 300 lbs stood on it. I am not sure. I have to take a deep breath and tackle this because it’s like seed beading to me, tedious. Yes, thank you so very much though, this scale has set me straight many of times. I would literally hate to just throw it away. 😢

We now have more bits and pieces for the box of stuff that might come in handy one day.

There is no reason to peel off and destroy the foot pad where you step. You took it all apart. Can you put it back together?????

The correct manner to lift off those springs is to use a loop of wire, not a screwdriver which could slip, likewise a loop of wire makes reassembly easier

From the way you dismantle it, I believe the scale won't be accurate any more after you assemble it back!

Reassemble it

A mechanical scale costs $10. Electronic load cell scales $20 & up. Quality Mechanical scales $100. Forget about repairing it unless you really know what your doing.
