Guys, this channel has to be promoted more by RU-vid. The quality of your work is on a different level. Thanks for taking the time to show us what you do
been watching you guys, and want to do it myself. just shook hands on a '72 240Z! a true barn find, sitting since 1980, protected from the elements. chassis has excellent bones. i won't tell you what i paid; you'd be so jelly. it was a steal! haven't turned a wrench, or struck an arc in 40 years, but i'm not afraid. might even do a vlog!
I just purchased a Toyota MR2 that had T tops leaking resulting in crazy rust on the floor which creeps structurally into the suspension area. I’ve been watching videos like this to pump up my confidence to tackle difficult multi layered rust repair. This video also reminded me that I need to buy a new finger sander, I’ve already burned out two of them on fixing my BMW M3 rust repair.
Discovered your RU-vid content a few weeks ago and have watched everything! Best ever car related content on the planet! You guys at YCR deserve your own TV program! Can sit and watch your amazing skills for hours at a time - true artistry. The care, skill and ability to translate into metal your aims are absolutely amazing. Your ability to have fun whilst demonstrating your next level skills is truly entertaining and endearing! I particularly love the work on the Disasterous Datsun and Miata! All power to you gents!
Ryan, your skills in fabricating by hand these 3D jigsaw puzzle of rusted panels are amazing! Like you said, its one step forward & 2 or 3' steps back, but the Datsun puzzle is slowly coming together! Keep up the great work.👍👍
I have a lot of respect for you , dad and the team Ryan . It takes a special kind of person to dedicate a hell of a lot of time and effort not only physically but emotional strength to keep going on a seemingly impossible restoration like this ! So 🙏🏻👍🏻😉👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
That look on your face! Seriously though this is a great example of what can be achieved. Piece by piece, there's no sense in it but you'll have done what nobody else ever would have. Love it!
Ryan your fabrication skills are on another level. even though you lark around and pretend you are stumped. you really just take it as it comes and are never fased. excellent as usual
It's absolutely amazing to watch... us mere mortals don't realise the amount of thought, skill, or work that is necessary to rebuild a 50yr old rusty puzzle ❤
Superb! If you go back to the first video about the Datsun where Steve is assessing the car, there are a couple of times when he says the back end of the car is very sound. I'd be tempted to remind him of that from time to time.😂 Keep up the good work. These videos are fascinating.
I look forward to the day that you say this Datsun is rust Free . Although watching you create fabricate fit tweak the metal i find the best part of the video . Excellent work as always
Watching the two of you work through each messy situation with incredible skill and spot on humor; lifts my day and inspires me to work on my on messy situations. Thank you🎉😂
I enjoy the unique fabrication you two do every time. Takes a lot of forethought on how you have to make a replacement part. Of course maybe Rosso (sic) is telling you both how to shape those parts behind the scenes...I don't know... lol Thumbs Up!
Hello 👋 👋 👋 good buddy Ryan good to see you my friend it's been a pleasure hanging out with you and watching you transform the disaster Datsun into a new car again..I have been busy I got to catch up on a couple of videos I missed of your dad's I sure look forward to watching the BMW tomorrow I look forward to all of them this is my favorite channel on RU-vid and I have been telling so many people about you guys. I hope you all have a wonderful blessed weekend much love to you guys you all feel like a extended family to me ol flash loves you all too he is watching with me.
I really have enjoyed watching this series, I have learned so much from you guys and I like that you hand make your panels, please keep showing how to do this because most of the time these are non obtainable or simply don’t fit right so making them is the only option. Keep up the fantastic work and keep the videos coming. Steve.
I'm in awe watching you work, i used to work in a garage as a panel beater paint sprayer, nothing on your level though...your craftsmanship is out of this world
Loved restoring cars but it is a labour of love! It hurts me too much since burns and broken bones and many other injuries!! Love your videos keeps me smiling that there is people out there continuing too do work I love!
Funnily enough, while this is my favourite channel atm, a recent additional channel is a father and tiny daughter from Belgium, handcrafting and test playing electric guitars of all styles. Hard to find a better place to be, working alongside your father (& son or daughter), peacefully and competently making things right.
Someone went into a showroom years ago and bought this car it would have been their pride and joy bet they would still look at this and feel the same it’s going to look just as good as the day they got it
Be fair, Ryan - there was definitely some shiny metal at one or two points on the boot floor :) Even Rocco is looking as if he's going to have to find a new perch one of these days!
Loving the videos Ryan, you guys are doing amazing work, I've said in the comments before I've never seen such a rusty wreak being brought back, but we don't have salt on the road over here, Rj in Oz
i've missed a few episodes as was on vacation (UK :-) , looking for the latest video I had one worry, that you had given up. Very Glad that it not the case. Someone on the channel with deep pockets should buy this when it's done and pay a premium for the excellent meticulous work
I am impressed. I saw this early on and didn't know the extent of the damage. You knew it was at least half as bad and still decided to take it on. Even if this was only for content, I would have given up after a quarter of this work!!!!
Wow DATS RUSTY GOOD LUCK DUDE FEEL YOUR PAIN SO HARD TO PRICE JOBS LIKE THESE AS IT TAKES SO MUCH TIME AND EFFORT TO DO IT PROPERLY AND WEN U CANT GET PANELS 😢GOOD WORK DUDE AND GOOD LUCK
Ryan you're as hilarious as talented. I enjoyed every moment. The disaster will have an end, keep up the excellent work ! For now, it's... rusty here and there :)
I suspect there was no galvanizing on car back then, except for Porches and a few other expensive cars. I also suspect, because of this, car bodies already had some trash rust occurring in the cavities of the bodies, as they left the factories.....
Don’t you dread that by removing the top rusty panel you just know there will some worse that it is attached to it underneath, all credit to your perseverance and attempting saving a classic icon from my youth!
Ryan: Ive had time to take " Good Look" 👀 at it " Of course I cant just cut one section out and weld in a new section, I have to rebuild the whole car lol" The rocket ship 🚀 was great!! Small wins bro!!! Cant wait till we are both done with the Zs 😃
Wooooo, I see the light from a far! Is that heavens gate in the background or a nice new paint booth?! Can't wait to see that nice new addition. Great work as always on the Datsun, aka disaster-ness-obominationness-loose sleep-ness project. Looking great!
One day in the future an AI Robot will be reviewing humanities contribution and will find this video and watch one man remake every single panel the factory robot made and decide humanity is worth saving because you cared enough to do this :)
