Never thought this would have happened! There was a terrible storm in Harrisburg PA during the Mecum auction. @Resurrected_Whips caught some of the aftermath on film! Unfortunately, one of our trucks was damaged!
It was a crazy storm to be caught in , I was sad to see it happen. Sorry about your vehicle man ; my prayers are with the builders/ sellers just like yourself. It’s never nice to see what has happened to other cars, I’m just glad to be alive as I stayed on the grounds when it happened , I was in my rv , that’s why I was able to get some after footage but I prayed to god and I’m glad to be alive. 🙏 thanks for the shout out man, hope you sell that truck for what it deserves , it’s gorgeous
Thankfully no one was seriously hurt! I appreciate you capturing some of the footage right after the storm. Unfortunately most of the viewers stopped watching right after I showed my damage and don't care to know how severe and destructive the storm was! Hopefully they can check out some of your footage and see for themselves! I'm not asking for sympathy from anyone, and just showed my experience. I feel terrible for some of the owners of the destroyed vehicles! Whether you are a car person or not, this is their livelihood! Thanks again! Stay safe!
The amount of money that this "unfortunate incident" caused makes it by definition a disaster! I didn't show a fraction of the damage, just my own and a couple walking around.
People care way to much and vehicles and materialistic possessions. It’s what’s really wrong with Society. As long as you want that big flashy nice truck that keeps you working and away from your family. I know a guy who cares more about paying for his McLaren than the future of his daughter and college. His parents gave him a house give him a business everything and he took his daughters future and bought a car.
@@slow_restoration I've witnessed "real" disasters where people's lives were affected, my daughter lost a home recently and my Son in law was badly injured. These were simply expensive toys that i'm sure were insured. Not getting any sympathy from me or several others by the looks of the likes and comments, but hey, you got views and i guess thats all that really counts.
It sucks yes , the loss of a little money is not a big deal, the loss of a home or a loved one is a disaster. Keep things in perspective and you’ll have a happier life.
Maybe you should look up the definition of disaster and get a full understanding of what happened there! Some vehicles were completely destroyed, and a giant tent ripped down, sending tent poles flying. This was my experience that was not near as severe as a lot that were damaged. Fortunately no one was killed, which isn't a requirement for a disaster!
@@slow_restoration My reply was to your post of a "disaster" in all caps. I was responding your content only as you had a few views of other cars. You posted click bait. How about you actually cover a disaster if you post about one show the destroyed cars. Keep in mind the one car you had in our post that I hated to see was the GNX. I am an avid car guy, have a few very rare cars that I have bought cheap over the last 40 years. Please let me say I am sorry if I made you feel like a victim, that was not my plan. If you want an example of car related disasters, look back at the cars destroyed during hurricane Ian.
Glad Mecum did what they should have and your vehicles sold for prices you are happy with , yes I know you always would like to get more but it's an auction . Storms , tents and vehicles usually result in dame that sometimes can be very bad . It could always be a lot worse . Great video , thanks for posting .
I’ve always had a positive image of Mr. Mecum and his son. Definitely good businessmen, He looks very healthy here too. Glad it worked out okish for you!
Thanks, my experience was that they were very fair! Still hate it happened, but you can't change the past. Haven't heard from you in quite a while. I'm glad to see you are still around!
@@slow_restoration - yeah, I’ve been very busy with work since CoVid. Can’t get time off because no one wants to work nowadays. I still have the C7, used it twice last year, once this year 🤣 Glad to see you’re out there doing well, sorry about the Quadra steer disaster, those things were neat when they came out but here in NY I knew they wouldn’t last long in the Salt Belt.
You are correct on that...... but you must have missed the point of a complete circus size tent was ripped down throwing a tent pole acrost the parking lot into a hotel and going through the wall! Not to mention some of the cars that got completely destroyed! It was fortunate that no one was killed! My vehicle damage was minor in comparison to a lot of others, but this was my experience! You must have missed that part!
I would feel bad for anyone that lost their home! This was a serious storm that took a huge tent down, collapsing it on many vehicles! Some of these vehicles are worth more than a house and were destroyed! Fortunately, no one was killed! One of the tent poles was thrown into a near by hotel and put a hole in the wall! This is not a woe is me, but it's a disaster nonetheless. Maybe you didn't watch the whole video?
Salute , Blessings to everyone grind and motivations...... Sorry for the damage , I live in Florida , fun... I'm killing myself to build my 12v 5.9 Cummins Ram Dually truck for my " side job services , cleaning up properties for any body I need off help , either like the elderly , or the need , and for businesses and some so more other to veterans ... Always majorly saving my life motivational to me....
It does sucks that it happened! But if the only major damage you got on your two trucks was the white rear door makes you pretty lucky and you should feel pretty lucky and great full for that being all that happened! If you needed to fix it quick you could probably find a color matched door at a junkyard! Now if it was that green truck? Hmmm🤔
@whdbnrm3023 You obviously didn't watch the whole video, this was my experience. The disaster was a circus size tent was blown down send a tent pole across the parking lot putting a hole in the side of a hotel and smashing a bunch of cars! Some of which were rare and destroyed! My damage was relatively minor in comparison, but this was my experience with the Disaster.
@@slow_restorationIf this is a disaster to you, you haven’t faced adversity. Come to tornado alley, I’ll show ya what a real disaster is, not so rich guy inconvenience.
I was at corvetts at carsie about a dozen years ago when a storm came up out of nowhere instant flooding and tents where flying everywhere. no dammage to my VETTE it was a few spots from the flood
Props on Mecum for doing the right thing even for something completely out of their control. But man, that GN, that's bad especially if it's a cherry original. If ya did OK, then not bad.
I agree they did the right thing! OfCourse when you leave your vehicle in their care, that's what you expect! The GN was bad, but by far not the worst!
I know when issues like this happen. Some people think they can stick it to.Mecum. But they still pretty much call the shot. If someone doesn't agree, mecum, hire a lawyer to buy the time you're done, and you will be in the hole. They make it right but are not going to let know one pull a fast one
Not kind of a happy ending a “Happy Ending”..taking a car to auction especially not a MOR type vehicle is a risk you were after a small market…you did great. Mecum is one of the best in the biz
What a great auction company that Mecum is! It was an act of God, but still standing up for the owners and potential owners is way cool. Props to Dale Mecum and his fantastic company.
Hey new sub here, decided to follow along with 2024 GMC journey as I myself recently purchased the same spec 2 days ago. So far I have done window tint, and ordered paint match flares, GMC flood lights, GMC illuminted emble, and the rear tailgate step lights. If you ever get new wheels and tires would love to see a vid on that.
Windows 60 bucks body paint on the doors around 300 and marker lights around 30 bucks that would be an easy fix for me for a shop they would charge 5.000 to repair it
Shit happens. Seems like this guy is being over dramatic. Keeps calling the Suburban a "quadra steer". It's a Suburban dude that has "Quadra-Steer" as a feature. Nobody wants to see their vehicle damaged by Mother Nature but it happens. I had a vehicle that was was damaged by golf ball size hail (65 dents and one window) . It sucked. But I didn't whine over it or get so dramatic over it. If it was my home that would be a different story. Nice that Mecum stepped up to the plate but they want to make their money so I suspect it was in their interest to do so. Better to make some money than nothing at all.
A home is just wood and nails, easily fixable and not something to whine about. I had roof damage from the weather, my buddy came up and showed me just how easily it can be fixed. We fixed it plus added a vent.
I see the damage, but not every single thing now is due to the incident. Like the rubber trim, top of the third brake light …. But if insurance is paying, why not. Lol
This was an ultra-clean truck that I knew every inch of. That damage was not there before. This generation of trucks is the new classics whether you agree or not!
Glad Mecum took care of you, as they did with everyone else. They have been more than fair: they made sure every potential buyer was clearly notified of damage, took good care of every seller, and did so without hesitation. Bad idea though to recommend the videos from resurrected_whips. It's some kid who is being ridiculously unfair about Mecum, from ignorant assumptions to outright lies. Doesn't even know the difference between co-signers and consigners. This was a freak storm, an act of God, nobody's fault. Hopefully this dumba** pun k will get his videos booted and sued by Mecum.
Thanks, and good to know. I just saw he had some footage of the storm and aftermath. Mecum did good by me, and I have nothing negative to say about how they took care of their customers.
With all the room they had inside the buildings, it makes no sense to me that they'd leave vehicles outside under a tent knowing that severe weather was forecasted. Smh.
What's your price? I pulled that thing out of 2 foot of dirt at a pick n pull almost 10 years ago for my s10 build its crazy to see it still fairly local
I'm not asking for sympathy! This was my experience which I shared! Had you watched the rest of the video you might have a understanding as to how severe it was! Fortunately, no one was killed! My damage was minor in comparison!
I’m an attorney in Harrisburg and from the little that I know about the damage to your vehicles I’d say you have a very strong case for a substantial settlement. You should give me a call. I’d like to have a doctor friend of mine give you a complete check up including bloodwork, MRI, and body cavity examination.
"You never know what's going to happen." I disagree. STORMS HAPPEN. The only time to use a tent is when you know the weather is going to be good for shade only.
How's it click bait? A huge tent was taken down by a storm and some high dollar vehicles were damaged severely! Fortunately no one was seriously injured or killed! I only showed mine and a couple others that weren't the worst of the damages. One of the tent poles was thrown across the parking lot and put a hole through the side of a hotel! I guess disaster is relative!
We will see what liability he MARCON is held to on his tent meting he authored. He held it and should know or realize conditions. at least n]be aware enough about things.
Get em fixed and drive on to the next project but, please, no more GM stuff. Those vehicles may have looked ok in the day but they are fugly now. Hope the others are compensated as well. They keep deforesting and building giant solar farms, warehouses and parking lots and wonder why these storms intensify the way they do.
@@slow_restoration the special colors bring down the price at auction, paint one pink and send it thru. I deal with Bikes and the ones with custom paints bring less.
I know some of you are making comments saying this was not a disaster. You are only seeing a handful of the cars destroyed/damaged. There was MILLIONS+ $$ in damage to vehicles, some which the owner may not recover from. Do you have an OEM hood/fender to a 64 Vette? SOmethings can't be replaced. Some of these vehicles have thousands of man hours into their restoration. Until you are a car guy, and know the countless hours which go into searching for parts, hours in, $$ paid out, you don't know the feeling. Regardless if this mans vehicles were 6 figure or not, he put in the elbow grease and can classify this situation as he feels.
Some people have no Idea! It doesn't take a loss of life or house destroyed to be a disaster! While either one of those things are terrible, this was also a terrible event "Disaster"! I'm thankful no one was seriously injured. It's still painful to see these vehicles destroyed and read the comments downplaying the seriousness of the damage. I'm sure some will be offended by this, but being offended doesn't make you more important than someone else. I only showed my experience and a couple around me, but like you said there was much more destruction. Thanks for your time and comment.
@@slow_restoration Painful is an excellent word for this. Because I'm sure it does hurt. I hope the compensation you received made up for your aggravation and loss. Keep up doing the amazing job you do. I just subbed,
It’s not like he’s selling pebble beach cars. A lot worse happened in Scottsdale 2010 Tents blew onto highway and damaged lots of cars. No way would I allow my vehicle to sit under a tent.
Funny guy! It's camed with a turbo and stall converter. It does take some basic understanding of how to drive a modified vehicle. I've seen plenty of vehicles driven across the block that are made to look bad by the driver.
