Have had Toyotas for years…had a 17 year old 300 thousand miles..ran great until someone ran into me and totaled it…now have a new Toyota…always reliable

I'm using raised bed soil with Miracle grow and it's doing fine. Some of my seeds I threw in there are sprouting and they are three years old or so.

I've used it too, but she used Top soil. Top soil is hard for plants to grow in as it becomes very dense and compacted along with the lack of nutrients a garden plant needs.

Love all the flowers you planted. Me and my brother started a very small raised garden with tomatoes and watermelon. So far 17 tomatoes with 4 plants. Thanks for sharing.

I don't believe the issue was the brand but rather the type. She used Top Soil in a raises bed. Top soil is very dense and not very nutritional for vegetables. Raised beds and containers do better with soil designed for them, containing additional nutrients and something to keep the soil from becoming compacted.

The cabin looks so good. Love the hanging baskets. There are water-retaining granules that you can use for plant pots. These granules absorb water and release it slowly over time, helping to keep the soil moist. We have always had two vehicles. One for a spare when the other is in the garage. It doesn't have to be a Ferrari, but reliable. Good thinking. Thanks for letting us watch. Kisses Kenai.

The flowers look great, but are they moose proof? It would be a shame if the animals got into them for their lunch. We hope the garden grows good for you too. The planters were a great idea. Take care and all the best.

Hi Alone, your gardens look great. Glad that all your car troubles are getting resolved. I despise having car problems. Our car's radiator just blew up while doing our monthly supply run. It took hours of stopping and finding more water to add back into the radiator to make it home. At least we have what we need. We are having a replacement delivered next week. It's not all romance and roses when living this lifestyle. Thanks for sharing!

The same thing happened to me with the Miracle Grow raised bed soil. I have been spending hours replanting all of my seed starts and carefully replanting them into a better soil blend. Next I have to work on replanting my 2 potted tomato plants that look like they have been struggling. I hope they don't go further downhill with the replanting stress. Looks like we have the same weather. After a wonderful summerly May, the cold came back in June. Big garden news here. I have bought a greenhouse! Its a wooden structure with 4mm tempered glass. I have found a handy man close by that can build the foundation and the kit structure. I have wanted this for 5 years! My dreamy little greenhouse / garden room. Will source used furniture. The flooring will be of old bricks and I will have a fireplace without a chimney, either electric or bioethanol. It will be used throughout the year. Love to have friends over for "glögg" or gluhwine mid winter. Nice work with the greenhouse and the planters. Great idea. I drive a Nissan Ariya, electric vehicle 4wd.. Of course I do you might say.. Norway is the No1 EV contry in the world. 😅 Glad you had a back up car. Stay safe!

I love your greenhouse/garden space! I’ve not used the miracle grow soil, but have had good luck with miracle grow fertilizer/ plant food! The flowers are beautiful! They just make us feel so good!! Sorry about your SUV! Very glad you had the PU as a backup! You definitely need a reliable vehicle!!!! We’ve been working on firewood too!

I live on the East Coast and the soil is not great here. I use Miracle Grow for my pots and also mix it into my flowerbeds. Works great for me! Those flowers by the fence are going to look great!! Good luck with your car. Hi Kenai 💜

Brief suggestion. The fence made of chain link you could stretch plastic across the top of it then put plasic on the walls and door. That will give you a better green house than the one on the other side of the house. It would work great!

My husband loved miracle grow and would not use anything else..he always had prize winning watermelons and he had a green thumb..his tomatoes huge and luscious..all his veggies yum yum..and we had a Toyota that lasted for years and years..loved that car..

You can sprinkle some cinnamon on the top of your plants soil to keep mold away. You can also spray with part water & peroxide which kills plant mites & larvae.

Ooohhhh noooo, I just dumped three big bags of the Miracle Gro organic soil for raised beds in a greenhouse bed...I prefer not to use MG but the nursery did not have my preferred brand. Well, I guess I'll find out soon enough. Wondering whether you have thought about seasonal rainwater catchment to water your garden -- guessing you don't have rain gutters, but it would be easy enough to rig up a tarp collection system funnelling into an IBC tote. Once you get a substantial amount of water in the tote it's not going to freeze even if you have cold temps overnight... Hauling water for the garden is the pitts. Beautiful scenery in this vid!

I also just learned from a farmer that when we transplant anything, the plant and the new spot need to be soaked with water, before the plant is moved to its new place. I used to only water once I transplanted.

Hi Beth! Nor did I. So far though after the initial shock of transplanting everything is doing great. Hopefully by mixing in some peat moss and last year’s soil mix, I was able to avoid any negative effects of the Miracle Grow soils. Hope your garden does better for you this year. 🤗❤️

I live in the mountains in New Mexico and the deer always eat my flowers. I planted some irises and so far the deer haven’t bothered them. I will be surprised if some of your flowers don’t get eaten!! Hope not cause they look so pretty and colorful!!🤗

You need to get hold of several comfrey plants. They mine deeper soil nutrients and are great to chop and drop directly onto the soil or make a swamp water and water around regularly. Borage is great too,if it grows in your zone and attracts bees.

Hey girl, I used to have large half acre gardens for years. Then 2019 I got sick and cant manage such. So now I do a container garden. I plant marigolds in all mine as the smell is unpleasant. I also use pungent crops like basil to fill my pots with. Of course, I am Kentucky bound so I don't know how marigolds would do up there. Good luck 🤞

milk, soap, and water in a spray bottle will help control powdery mildew. I've seen it save plants half covered in mildew. you might have enough room for one zuchinni plant in your little greenhouse.. but I don't think 3 of them are going to fit... as they mature.. they get pretty big.

It's always wise to use proper soil, just don't add any nutrients to new soil or you will burn your plants. Miracle grow soil is high in nitrogen around 24%. Mix this soil with old soil to drop the % of nitrogen. Keep an eye out for mold when you use wood shavings on top of your soil, and don't forget to look under your leaves for insects, and eggs. Most new soils will feed the plants for two to three months depending on how much you water.. To resuse nutrients, put a catch pan under your pots to catch the water that drains out and use it in you water. Nutrients leach out each time you water. Nice 45 ACP, I haven't seen you holster that one before. Use whatever tool you like however you like. I envy you and your life there. My prayers will be with you...😃😎😇

I try to stay away from miraclegro. I used an Alaskan Fish product to get the vegetation going using the instructions provided. I also put an organic 3-4-4 in the soil before planting. We are having zucchini parmigiana today with some nice size zucchini. I’ve been picking small ones for salads for a few weeks. We do use MiracleGro on flowers only and never mix the soil of them with soil we grow food in.

@@jackbrown7341 Our soil here is pretty bad unless I pay to have it trucked from 30 miles away. Most of the soil where I live is very acidic and dense with poor drainage and there is only a few inches of it before I hit gravel. It takes years to build good soil using compost but we have been in this house 11 years. The sun is up 19 hours and 32 minutes today so things are growing like crazy now. We will have some nice cucumbers in a few days in the green house and are picking broccoli in the outdoor garden.

Cedar shavings in the vegetable garden.? This is a complete surprise, I was taught to never add cedar to my veggie garden. I'm hoping this may be an urban myth and awaiting your result. Good luck.
