This dude has been on RU-vid for less than 6 months and he's making videos WAYY better than people that have been on RU-vid for a lot longer. Keep up the work Tom! Still fascinates me that literally no American detailing video I've watched has a car with a manual transmission
@@TomDoesDetails I noticed after watching this video that the jeep was manual. I'm from Ireland and other than a hybrid/electric car, nearly everything is manual. My dad's car (2014 skoda superb) is a 6 speed manual and my moms, an 07 focus saloon is a 5 speed manual. All other cars in my family are manual too. Skoda's aren't sold in America are they? You're missing out, the superb and Octavia are incredible cars. The superb gets 67mpg out of a 1.6 tdi on average so they're highly efficient too.
Tadgh Collins Wow that’s incredible. I’ve always been a fan of manual cars, I had an 06 GTO (Holden) was a blast to drive. But to answer your question, no Skodas here. Never even heard of them.
@@TomDoesDetails Well, you learn something new every day so you do! I doubt they'd sell well unfortunately, I noticed the Passat SE I believe looked very similar to the facelift mk2 superb when I was in new York over the summer. It surprised me that there were so few american cars. Everything was toyota or honda. And very few yellow cab crown vics, which I was disappointed by.
good job tom ...i saw 4 of your videos and as i owned a car detailing studio 10y ago ... i wanna give you some advice.. 1- for the sand issue after your first pass with vacuum go and spray the carpet with soapy water let it soak for 2:3 min then use ur extractor to remove it then vacuum again if it need. 2- for the nasty cloth seats dont use all purpose cleaner or fabric cleaner no no no u r wasting your money and effort baby just use liquid laundry detergent 1 cup of it to 5 cups of water then with drill brush then let it soak for 10 min and use your best friend the extractor. 3- for the stupid floor stains thats dont want to go away use laundry detergent on it and let it set for 5 min then use your steamer then ur best friend the extractor and it will go away . 4- for the sticky shit that is always in the cup holder its mainly sugar from coffee or soda so the best thing to remove it is soapy water and heat from the steamer. 5- use a stiff brush in front of the vacuum nozzle will make it easier and faster to suck all the shit in the carpet. and the last one : please please wear long cloth or at least pants you dont want to get skin fungus or infection trust me i know its a long comment but i wanna help you and iam sorry if my english is not perfect
I also own my own detailing business and the ideas of using soap and water for the seats and the laundry detergent is genius, I never thought about doing that. Plus when you need to wash your microfiber towels you don’t have to worry about getting the chemicals out first or getting the chemicals in your washer and dryer if you don’t have a separate set.
@@DustToGloryPW iam so happy that you like it .. and it works like magic when you are washing your micro fibers please dont put it directly in the machine ..soak them for 30 min at least in a hot (not very hot) water with a little of laundry soap then toss them at the washing machine on cold or warm cycle (without adding detergent) then never never but them in the dryer let them hang in the air to dry to keep them as long ...guys iam happy for you and wish you the best of luck in your business
@mohamed Soli So what happened to your detail studio? What detergent do you recommend? I also suggest face mask when doing interiors, especially if you're using every chemical they sell
dude! i just logged on so i can make that same comment!!!! some folks just have no shame! 1st of all pretty sure this owner "mom" is single cause no man can date a chic like this, i can only imagine what her house looks like...smh! #nastyass
@@fbalb8782 if she is single. raising kids with someone is stressful but doing it alone is even worse. sometimes people just get too caught up , she has to take care of her kids and provide for them as well. not to mention that kids are kids and sometimes cars end up wrecked, more often than not. cut people some slack lmao
@@madisoncrenshaw6605 just alil......lol not alot cause that looked like a concussion grenade went off in the vehicle, but I will give you credit tho....lol
I just press play and watch the entire video. Learn a few things and it's almost hypnotic seeing the transformation take place. BTW...I hope this guy ain't married riding around w/ condoms in the console...lol.
When using the drill only go in circular motions. Back and fourth pulls out filaments and wears out the carpet faster. Circular motions re twist the filaments tighter making the carpet look newer and more “fluffy”. (I’m a carpet cleaner lolol) Edit: I appreciate you only extracting in one direction. Nothing irritates me more than trainees who rush it and just try to hit every spot. Nah take your time. Extracting is the only thing that actually matters/ counts for something. Rush everything else except extraction.
I use VRP also great product but I'm thinking bout trying silk and shine due to be able to spray product instead of the squeeze bottle easier to control product
I love your videos but The main reason I watch these types of videos is the carpet extractions please show more than 1 pass in slow motion or even just slow down the whole clip that’s what makes these types of videos satisfying to watch
Wow great job my friend !👍👍👍 i do detail here in canada montreal and i have a Dodge Journey and you will NEVER see my truck like that!! What pig house!!!!.....cheers vinny
Tom Does Details yes i do have a heated garage!! But I don’t detail car in the winter TO much work and snow and crap i do all my jobs between April and late September!! Then i am on vacation for four months!!....thanks for the reply 👍.....cheers bud!!
303 aerospace leaves a Matte black finish looks really good an clean after applying..silk tire shine is more on the glossy side..just depending on the customer....both products are awesome...
I’ve actually used both 303 and silk and shine and I do like 303 more as it seems to leave it with the freshly detailed look for longer and the 303 can last up to six months of protection
@@TomDoesDetails yea I was thinking at buying the spotclean pro version but looks like the one you have is enough. Have a great day keep up with the good content!
Love these videos so much. I’m 15 and I have been working on cars. All of the tips and tricks you give are amazing. Any tips on getting customers? How can I get my name out there?
Hey Ricky thank you dude I appreciate that. So what I did in the beginning was tell family and friends about the business and if they were interested in my service and go from there. I also made a Facebook business page and you can promote posts based on some factors and your location. Best of luck and keep on detailing my friend!
Excellent detail dude! Props to you for your skill and professionalism👏👏👏👍 Can you please tell me what is that song @7:40?? My exotic tribal looking ass cant help but be hypnotized and entranced by it🤣🤣
Honestly, this is what my car is looking like right now. Unfortunately I lost my place due to a fire in our building, I was hospitalized due to some injuries I occurred getting out of the building (it was 2 in the morning so everyone was asleep), so I lost my job. I was literally living in my car for over 2 month with my 2 kids under 10. My car was broken into while my kids were at school, thankfully, and I was in a not so good area, trying to get help with housing and work. I finally found an organization that helped me get a job that worked with my injuries and got us into a place, but my car is trashed. Between working, doctors visit, getting kids to school, I just haven’t had the time to clean it. I really wish I had these tools so I could really clean out the junk. The difference between the before and after is amazing. My car had body and interior damage from being broken into, so it won’t look like new how this car did. But it would still be an incredible improvement if I was just able to do this. Hopefully I’ll be able to get these tools soon, and I can at least declutter and sanitize the car.
Marie Smith I am very sorry to hear that Marie, that’s terrible. I’m glad you are in a little better place right now. To go through all of that and still staying strong you are incredible. Keep it up! 👍. Any chance you live in South Florida? I would come help you out with the car
Excellent work! Only thing I'd recommend is be careful with using the drill brush so much on the carpets. It can cause the fibers to twist and dreadlock.
I really like your video! Just wanted to point out to be careful with emptying the dirt water of the extractor in the nature because it might have some chemicals in it, but other than that, dope video! 👌🏻
Awesome Job Man! That was fun to watch and super satisfying! I like both Silk Shine and 303 but I use Silk Shine primarily on tires because I like how easy it is to use, and 303 on all interior plastic, leather, and vinyl, I like the thinner consistency and the look and feel after dried.
Miranda Detailing hey thanks! Okay I’ll have to get me some 303 and try it out. I’ve actually never tried silk n shine on the tires. Thanks for the comment dude
I herd of this underground thing-trand. You actually did it before, its called I think... shirtless detailing? Maybe another vídeo from that? 🤣🤣🤣😘😘😘 Ps: make sure to use sunscreen shirt or no shirt 😊
Makes sense. If the glass is still dirty on the outside then you won't be able to see if it is really clean inside. Also clean glass enhances how clean it is. Sometimes for me dirty glass makes the car also feel dirty.
Great work! Looks almost brand new now! Out of curiosity, did you accidentally scratch the car at 2:45 from pulling the car seat's frame over it? (EDIT: I think you may have. I see a scratch at 16:27, bummer).
hey Tom, I just started getting into interior detailing. But im kind of stumped on how much to charge for the service. Could you give some advice? Im worried about charging per hour, due to the fact that im pretty new to this and I take about 2 hours so make sure everything is perfect.
AtomicGaming-ESO hey 👋, so really comes down to how long you’ll be doing the details and what kind of job you they want. But for something like this video which took me around 6-8 hrs. I would charge around $200-250 depending on size etc. Again this is for a complete detail trying to get it back to new condition
Tom Does Details it’s the way it lays and dries on. Truthfully that’s the only 303 product I even like, so I promise it’s not a 303 fangirl thing. They both last about the same, and neither are greasy to the touch whatsoever. Just solely the look of it really. Hopefully you can get your hands on some to try, also make sure it’s the spray and not the wipes. Those lay differently too and I absolutely hate the wipes. Plus you get a better value with the spray anyway. 😊
@@thedetailchick8683 Awesome! thank you for the thorough reply. Excited to see how it is especially because I like the way silk n shine looks on the finish
I've only used this one so can't really say but it does the job fine for me. Figured Id stick with this until I have enough money for a bigger capacity one.
Nope, those were really in there. However I am surprised more people haven’t made this comment, especially since the detail geek found a condom as well. I almost didn’t include it.
Give the option to drop car off at my house or yea use clients power. I’m not a mobile detailer. A lot of my work now is paint correction and ceramic coatings.
I usually do the mats first as they tend to hold more water. Extract as much as I can and then let them sit out in the sun. I live in Florida so things dry up pretty quickly.
After going on a 3 day car detailing video binge, I've noticed a few things. The money shot is the extraction. These guys all play the same upbeat/club music in their vids. They all basically have the same videos. If you've seen two, you've seen them all. They all wear the same black gloves and black mask. I personally believe they add garbage to the car for a more compelling contrast on the before and after shots or at the very least, ask clients to not touch a thing. It looks better in the thumbnail and that's what makes us click on their vids. Just watch the Detail Geek and you'll get your fill. When done, move on to more intellectually stimulating videos.
Loving the videos sir. I’ve been trying to get into the auto detail business in Florida. Was curious, how you charge? Like do you charge for the overall detail or by the hour?
Tom Does Details thanks so much buddy. How did you determine your list with prices? Would you mind if I asked you to teach me how to do the prices along with the services provided? Should I DM you maybe?
Justin McKamey Yes, it’s because I am using 2 different attachments. One is a wider mouth for the first pass and then the second is a narrow crevice tool that bends for hard to reach areas like between the center console and seat etc. the crevice attachment only fits on the orange hose.
Whou, this seems like a nice clon of Stuffer garage channel. I know the concept is reusable but the flow, equipment etc is almost identical. not sure if this was the purpose but i would try to give it little different feeling e.g. not only interior detailing but also exterior
