The "Taxing" of unrealized gains will disincentivize the holding of assets long term. What does that mean? More volatility in the stock market, and a net selling event as investors look to exit those positions.

Now throw in an increase in the capital gains taxes on top of that. Then in addition she wants to increase corporate income taxes which means all corporations will have to reduce guidance leading to more selling. The final result is at least a disaster and possibly catastrophic, something on the order of 2008-09.

Some insist that "taxation is theft", but I would argue that rentier income, by definition deriving from ownership alone (a not at all productive extraction from the real economy of producing and consuming goods and services), is theft, and this is what should be taxed.

Harris wants to tax on unrealized gains, and that means if you own homes or trade stocks, you get taxed to tears. Higher taxes on corporations will push them to move businesses oversea, causing big losses in jobs, consequently loss of tax revenues, resulting to even higher inflation and job losses. Remember: US companies have to compete against the world. Raising taxes here make US companies less competitive on the world stage and forcing them to move out of the US to be able to compete with China, India...

Wait and tariffs are better? That's just an excuse to raise prices again. So think about it. If I tariff you, you just raise your prices to cover the tariff, I'm not gonna pay extra so Ill pass that cost onto my consumers. Its an endless cycle and Trump is not the answer. Without businesses, there would be no jobs. Harris wants to tax on unrealized gains, and that means if you own homes or trade stocks, you get taxed to tears. If companies have to pay more taxes, they move businesses oversea to compete against China, Europe and the rest of the world. This would cause huge job losses in the US. Taxing the rich is just a ploy to get votes. Remember: The US is not the world. Companies have to compete with the world.

Harris's plan to tax unrealized capital gains would be disastrous for home owners and stock traders. For example, if you own home and it goes up in values, you have to pay tax for it even if you don't have cash, same goes with stocks. This would cause a collapse of the stock market and the US as a whole.
