I thumber overstable D1's, so that I can beat them in to throwers. My rule of thumb is that if its too stable for me to power a backhand with I throw thumbers with it until its the desired stability. Thanks for watching!

thank you for the good info. I'm looking to add thumbs to my game but they have been inconsistent for me when I try them I think it might be my release angle or the wrong disc I use a predator because I was told the more overstable the better.

In general the stability of the disc used in overhand throws will determine its flight or knot in the air. The more stable the slower that knot will be. A main thing for first learning the throw is to release the disc with the flight plate perpendicular to the ground. I would do this with something like a teebird to start and see what results you get and than hone it in the same motion and different speeds/stabilities from there. www.precisiondiscgolf.com/blog/thumber-tomahawk-disc-golf-overhand-throw Also a good resource. Its a great tool in the arsenal, and I almost never throw as many thumbers as I do in this video. Its hard not to when you can get such consistent results though!
