I'm not 100% sure, because I haven't been able to playtest on Pixelborn yet, but I think that I might have to agree with you. If you're running discard, then John is a must have. I'm not sure that Diablo is, as he doesn't affect discard one way or the other.
@@Xoulrath_ i have to disagree with this opinion. John is good if you want to draw cards, but it is not necessary for your discard engine. It helps A LOT. It just doesn't do anything standing alone. If there is a better card at that 3 drop spot, this is probably the first to go since it doesn't help with the discards. It just helps with draw cards, but of course, drawing cards help against discard too. The power of emerald steel is that it has big, powerful creatures when everyone is in top deck mode. If both players are on top deck mode, your 20 flood born creatures you play means you draw a powerful card 1/3 of the time. Other decks cannot do that
@@bryanwong1625 I literally don't know what you're trying to say here. I agreed with you that running John and Diablo at an u inkable three drop slot is not a good idea. If you're NOT focused on discard, then John is quite literally useless. If you ARE focused on discard, then John is you pick over Diablo. If you want to run both, then you'll need to watch your uninkable count and/or run Inkcaster as well.
@Xoulrath_ john doesnt help your discard plans. It supplements it with draw. You dont need john to discard people. John doesnt do anything standing alone. Its just an engine. I was playing bucky without johns in a mirror. He had John's and both players were at one point in topdeck mode. I outdrew him for more powerful cards because while he was drawing johns i had 4 slots for harder hitters. When both players are top deck mode, johns are useless
