Suzie, you look absolutely gorgeous in every theme you dress up in! Cameraman is really in his element with all the effects and music in this one. Y'all are such a dynamite team!
Work of art, you are so talented... I was born and raised in Jersey and we would party in NYC, I used to wear bell bottoms with the platform shoes, and disco my way into the clubs... I also loved rock, and punk rock, we really had the best of everything back then... Love ya💋🤓🕺💃
@@cameraman5085 It really shows! If you ever wanted another YT channel - you could do Camera Mans's Video Production Tutorials. Not sure you have extra time, as I'm sure these videos are not made overnight, but it would be very cool & educational to see your behind the scenes take of the videos and how you make them, in terms of camera set up, angles, the editing programs you use, how to do transitions, music selection, etc etc... You guys are such a great team and I'm sure you also have that amazing, down to Earth helpful teaching vibe as the beautiful Suzie.
@@kasie680 I do use royalty free music. In this video most of the cuts are from Audio Network - they have a large selection of authentic 1970's music - credits in the description. I also produce original music for some of our videos too😀
I really miss the late 70’s. I miss listening to a 45 of the Bee Gees and all vinyl records, they had the best quality sounds. And listening to the weekend countdown and waiting to record my favorite songs on a cassette tape. Disco 🪩 Balls and dancing was so much fun, along with going to the skating rink on Sunday’s.Your Nails 💅 came out beautiful 💙🥰💅
That turned out beautifully. The way the nails became more iridescent and almost mother of pearl looking when you put the coat of builder gel or bridge on them is amazing. And the way the cat was playing with the lights coming from the disco ball was the most adorably funny thing to me.
Ahhhh thanks - I bought this shirt at a local secondhand store. And the woman who sold it to me said that when she was younger going to the nightclubs in the 70s a couple of men walked in to dance the night away and they were wearing the exact Same shirt I bought for this video. I thought that was pretty cool
Tip when working with chunky glitter like those square, after you set them all up on the gel on the nail take clear plastic wrap the dollar store ones are super thin and perfect but you just wrap over the glitter hold it in place and cure peel back the wrapper and perfectly laid glitter, if you get any gel bits that clumped up don't stress it once you put the clear builder on top it'll smooth that out and you won't see them! I'd love to see you try this technique because I know you could do it masterfully! Also for square glitter like this you can cut with scissors to make them fit around your cuticle💖
Just loved the 70s, hence my 'name'. Absolutely adored this video, those nails are the biz! Sadly, a lot of the main stream radio stations here in the UK, don't play 70s music very much. You do have to search, but 'oldies stations' are out there! xx
I remember, on the weekends, I would sit next to my radio and listen for ALL the songs I LOVED so I could make a "mix tape" and I remember it was so exciting to FINALLY get an entire song recorded lol. I would, 9 times out of 10,only get like half the song lol.
Oh my goodness they are stunning! I’m with Cameraman - I enjoy music from Santana too. Love rock music but don’t mind a bit of disco. I was very young back then but when I’d hear the Bee Gees on the radio, I’d launch into the good ol’ John Travolta moves 🕺🪩
Oh! Do 1920's flapper designs! 😍 They had some really cool designs in awesome colours (orange orange 🧡 and aubergine purple, and anything bright red) - and you could add some gold to nudge it up a little, like the ones where it's kinda mot really metallic. They did really cool things with "French" designs, where the top French would have a "leg" down the middle over an actual French, where the bade would be orange and the tip would be natural. I think you'd make an awesome Great Gatsby party crasher! 😄 Loved these! Amazing when you do kinda historical nails! Very educating in the most entertaining way possible! 😙❤️🤗
How cool! 😎 Love the nails they are beautiful the coffin shape is better. Hand me downs oh I know all to well about that. I had alot of those growing up but in the 80's and 90's. The best part about hand me downs they was already broke in. 🤭 Camera man i loved the picture of you the boots are to die for. Plus you did an amazing job on the video. I love hearing bout your life as you guys was growing up. The cat was just too cute. 😻 Love you guys thanks for sharing. 🥰🕺💖💖💖😻🤗
I absolutely LOVE this design. When I first clicked on this video I was blown away!! You really went all out for the 70s theme! Loved hearing all your stories about the 70s. And of course watching this beautiful design come to life😍🤩
Need more kitties near nails❤❤❤ My ginger tabby always finds a place near me whenever I do my nails, so I tell him to pay attention, so he learns how to do nails to pay for his food and toys😅😅😅
I wish Jenna Marbles was still making videos. Just imagine her with a face full of those beautiful halo squares haha These nail are stunning, Suzie! ❤️
Suzie, I love your eye Flower !!!! How funny you mentioned your father was an Opera singer my mothers father was to!!!!! Thank you Suzie for highlighting (Hard Gel). I am a cosmetologist and I didn't know what Hard Gel was or how to determine what is Hard and Soft Gel. I Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for finally answering my forever question.
When I started doing my own nails I remember I started with dip and hated it. Then I went to hybrid gel. I loved that I could take my time because it wouldn’t harden, but I hated that it didn’t level out. But I was SO intimidated by builder gel. I was so scared of it running into my cuticles or just off the form. Once I started using it, I fell in love. It really does just stay where you put it, for the most part. As long as you do that slip layer, the structure layer stays within that same area. Now I’m intimidated by acrylic, but I am practicing with it more recently.
These are simply gorgeous! These would probably take me about 4 hours to do on myself! Maybe even longer, because I’m so slow. I know a lot of others have said as much, but your videos are, by far, the best quality, best produced nail videos out there. You and cameraman are such a powerhouse team, and I just love watching them. Also, your designs always blow me away. Thank you both so much for the time and caring you clearly put into your vids!
As a former Disco Queen myself, I really enjoyed this tutorial! I thought it would be fun to recreate, but since I'm a nail art hobbyist I don't need a lot of the square glitter: just enough for 10 nails. I found a store on Etsy from which I could buy a 2g bag, which is slightly more than a tablespoon - plenty! While waiting for it to arrive, I was thinking about the process and wondered if the effect might be even MORE dazzling if the glitter squares are applied over a base of silver chrome powder. I think I'll do a couple of test nails to see if it makes an appreciable difference. Thank you for such a fun and unique idea!
I definitely recorded songs from the radio through the condenser microphone on my portable cassette player. I always missed the first 5 seconds of the song. 45s were frequently released BEFORE the album came out, at least the first single from it, to promote it. And on the B-side, they would put songs not on the album, to give you incentive to buy them. Amazing that kids now never experienced that!
~~Pretty~~ Those are so Pretty..I'm doing mine like that next. Iv been a Nail Teck for 30 yrs and I have been watching your video's for a long time and I love your work. 🙂👍❤️ ~~MUCH LOVE~~ & ~~GOD BLESS~~
I am loving this holo-centric square glitter! I have not seen it anywhere at all! 💿✨ and I remember the last time I did a full set of glitter placement, I spent 5 hours doing it (with nail polish) and I sworn to myself to not doing it again... maybe... 🤣🤣🤣
I absolutely adore you and your videos. Had my nails done for the first time a month ago and decided to learn to do them myself. Straight away into builder gel was complete insanity😂 your videos are teaching me a ton!
wow really nice. i was born in 1971 and i rember more the late 70s defo wasnt at any discos lol my older brother use to record the charts every sunday on cassette and you were damned if you made a single noise lol he recorded it from one device to another then he got a getto blaster oh the freedom to make noise again lol
Oh my gosh ME TOO!!! Every weekend I would wait for Casey Casum I think was his name with the weeks top 40 or something all I knew was I had that pause & record down perfectly haha. I actually did professional roller skating but it was early 80s for me ahhh the good old days
My mom loved disco! My dad was more into rock than disco. But, I am sure both appreciated a good mirror ball. lol 🤣 Lovely nails! It really does feel like an old timey disco ball. 😊
So much love for these nails! I would usually be watching all your new videos with my Mum on the big screen, but I'm giving this one a sneaky watch on my computer. Loved when your cat just jumped on the table. My Mum was a work hard, play hard kinda gal in the 70s. She sometimes would go to work, then party all night, then go back to work the next morning. She was always fashionable with her outfits, bags and shoes. Of course, she managed to collect quite a few great disco records, some of which we still have today (alas, no turntable anymore, not even a CD player), but funny you mention the Bee Gees. Before the Gibb brothers turned to disco and made it really big, they were this local band that performed at dance halls in Sydney. Mum saw them a few times (heck, she even saw the Beatles in '64!). My parents had a massive influence on my taste in music, so yeah, I really love disco, I listen to a lot of Moroder and other synth based music from the era. 70s electronic music is really something else.
