Sometimes people just don't care. Their minds could be too full to understand little things like that. I felt the same thing when I heard it for the first time. The direction of the game felt so depressing that I thought it would be nice if the protagonist had a 'brother' as support. Though, that's from my own perspective.

I don't get how none of them seem how to play a videogame that is all about reading and pointing and clicking. Seen a lot of VTubers and regular streamers not clicking orbs, failing to pay attention to the tutorial (room in which you wake up), how they misinterpret dialogue or straight up don't understand it. People whose job is to play videogames, don't know how to play videogames. What a world.

@@4nanaide some people I know legitimately doesn't know some words in this game, not to mention the uncommon writing method like how sentences are structured in this game is very uncommon even in most of my games

i would bet that its mostly bad reading comprehension and shallow media literacy. I feel like videogames very often have shitty writing and dialogues. And even when they are amazing games that are focused in the story or multiple paths aspect of it, they still manage to make it a very numb/plain experience that its always afraid of getting the player lost in their complexity. They always commit the sin of overexplaining the plot and making sure the player understands everything everytime the plot gets progression. Thats why people often have a hard time trying to pick up with Disco Elysium writing because the game expects you to get it on the very first scene with the ancient reptilian brain and the limbic system, the game will speak a lot on a figurative manner, hell, like even the abillities and archetypes descriptions when you are making a new game will use a lot of expressions and stuff like that. They are screaming it to your face, this game writing has personality.
