Disconnected Realities is a Short Film we did as a small school project.
What do we want to achieve with our film?
We want the audience to reflect on their own media behavior. Are they perhaps already trapped in this "online construct" like the person in the film? The film should depict a problem that many people have in today's society. One tries to spend one day less on the phone. Although one manages this for a short time, eventually one finds oneself back on the phone. This exact problem, of not being able to get rid of one's phone, is expressed in our film.Synopsis:It starts with a normal school day. A person wakes up and immediately reaches for their phone. After some time, he realizes they've been on the phone for too long and are therefore late. He rushes to school. Upon arriving at the school, the person checks their phone again. He sees hurried messages against them and decide to run away.He wakes up, it was just a dream. Nevertheless, he does the same things on his phone. But through a video, he puts his phone away and decides to go outside. While putting it away, he receives a notification from the phone that he will never get rid of it. Outside, he walks leisurely down the street. But after a while, he notices that he still has his phone in his pocket. The notification appears: "You can't get rid of me".
