There is actually an alternate way to do it, once you go to discords 404 page, there’s a little snake sign at the bottom right corner of the restaurant. Click it and you play snek!

Konami code was used for debugging. Developer couldn't beat the game that was ported from the arcade so the cheat code was added, so it could be debugged further.

The Konami code or similar combos were built into a lot of different things I think wasn't it? Maybe I'm mistaken but it's a reference to combat commands in different fighters and I think a similar variation was in shadows of the empire for 64 to access certain cheats. I'm sure it's in other things as well.
