@@lelesythewriter8146 ok yeah the ad is kinda good to be honest, but personally I dislike discord a lot cl because just like reddit, there's a lot of people who would just go and either insult everyone, or some 14 year old girls faking depression or even some children below 13, but if you like, I don't mind, like what u want :).
Never gonna rick and morty you up never gonna rick and morty you down never gonna rick around and morty you never gonna make you morty never gonna rick you
I don't know why this has been recommended to me again after 3 years of using Discord but it's amazing to see a chatting service make an analogy with a broom and vacuum cleaner to get you to use their app
Discord is mostly marketed for gaming, so it’s not exactly the first thing that most schools thought of when they needed to do online classes. Although it’s true a lot of us already know how to use discord.
MinecraftNinjagoAndStuff nah, why not use something more than half the class knows how to use what's completely free when you can use zoom what has several privacy violation suits against it ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ
im gonna be devils advocate here and defend zoom. while there are many allegations on them stealing data and being a naught naughty company. i will say. i do believe zoom is a better fit for classes than discord. for school you ideally want to see someones face and zoom does that better than discord. sure discord has screenshare but it captures the screen. not your face. except if youre on mobile. also in discord it would be much harder to monitor the behaviour of the kids. as in zoom they have features like muting other people and disabling the chat. i know for a fact that if my class used discord. it would be total anarchy. also if youre in a discord call with screenshare its going to be hard for the teachers to look at everyone. imagine 20 people in one discord call. that would be a nightmare. One more thing, discord is not a meeting app. its a communication app. and thats not what the teachers are looking for
@@cowboymooman8776your joking right? Edit: First you can turn off face cam on zoom meaning kinda, Second you can mute people on discord and turn on slow mode to stop people spamming, Third zoom is just 1 call, It be more organized to have a chat area to link homework (Which you cant do on zoom)
Then they need to work out how to use the apps settings. Not had any issues myself across various channels/servers or whatever. There are options to change voice settings that will impact sound quality negatively or positively depending on how they are set. Honestly only time I have issues with peoples voice is from their end. Bad/cheap microphone. Packet loss from shitty internet, the kind of things Discord or any other software has zero control over.
Been on discord for a couple of years, not as much of an og as when this video came out but I watched these when I was new, and seeing stuff like this again is so nostalgic
What you fail to realize is, that's not their fault. They have a program that works for them. There is "no real reason" for them to use Discord if Skype meets their needs.
Phantom Skype and Discord are two very different programs in feature sets. Skype is about calling (and group calling) like with a phone, where Discord is about a chat room type environment. I can see a lot of reason why they might prefer to use Skype over Discord or similar solutions (TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, Mumble, etc.) purely because of the difference in environment and purpose. Thanks to you as well for a civil discussion.
+Gaveroid true, but we can both agree that Discord is always evolving and adding more features, while refining its current ones(skype with its overwhelming anount of bugs that makes you wonder what they're doing with their money). but i did go ahead and ask them for a detailed answer and they just said skype meets their needs, which is perfectly fine.although those who did try it agree with my opinion, they don't use it because their friends don't want to install it.
Phantom It's still down to the fact that Skype and Discord are very different in how they work. Plus Skype has screen sharing and video calling. People who want a TeamSpeak-esque experience may enjoy Discord. People that enjoy a Skype-esque experience are less likely to enjoy Discord. It's not a bad idea to try to get your friends to use Discord, but keep in mind Skype and Discord are quite different.
Mom: Hey! Go clean your room! The vacuum cleaner is in the closet when you need it... Me: ... _Turns on phone and goes to Discord. Logs in and puts phone on the floor, in the middle of my room_ *It's time.*
You guys are so damn creative and fantastic. God how I have missed you. I'd use you even if your software was garbage but it's not... It's like you're the cool kids but your product is actually good as well. That's messed up. You can't be cool and smart. This goes against the school conundrum.
lmao the order of the comments I'm seeing is hilarious Top comment: 4 years ago 2nd Comment: 1 week ago 3rd Comment: 1 year ago ah, yes, perfect chronology
