Also if you do want to fight against scams, you can also join the server and change your nickname to something that tells other people that the server is a scam.

I don't think they even check the server after it's all setup tbh they probably just monitor the backend or webhooks for victims info until the server is banned, and they have to repeat it. Awful people.

how does it seem believable? Discord's QR code scanner is only for logging in, if you really want to verify with a bot using the QR code, then use a QR code scanner, not discord mobile.
@@arjix8738 For someone who doesnt know much about technical stuff, it does seems believable. THAT is why it is working. If it isnt believable, this video wont exist. Like how u won't fall for an African Prince email scam, but that scam scheme used or is still working for some "very very very gullible" people. This is the same except instead of "very very very gullible", its probably working for "very very gullible" people. And so on. I still believe Discord should at least do something about it if they could get their hand to it.
How can they really do something about it though? It's just QR code that anyone can generate. It would be impossible sadly unless they remove the QR code login system entirely which would cause a lot of inconvenience to people who use it normally. Not only that, but it's also pretty damn obvious that these servers / the qr code things aren't real I thought, but I guess it's not to everyone. I do wish they'd act faster in banning these servers, but I imagine they get countless reports every single day, so I can somewhat understand.

Its emberassing how this still works, this scam is rather old now. Discord also doesn't do stuff to fight this, one way would be to add a huge warning saying "dont scan QR Codes from Servers" and make a countdown so your forced to read it

I got that dm's too, but that user dm'ed that he was hacked later but they wrote to me not only about the server about the "family", they also wrote to me on another server on which there was a voice verification channel, instead of a text one, and soon someone entered the voice channel and began to ask some questions
I think the funniest part about most scam Discord servers are the amount of people renaming themselves in the server "Don't scan QR code" and "This is a scam server" just to tip people off.
Recently I got a lot of invitations to this type of servers and I didn't know what it was about but because of what happened to my friends some time ago I preferred not to go there. I hope Discord will finally start getting rid of scam servers and annoying bots sending invitations. Nice video!

4:40 Not to be a smartass, but, you scanned the linkvertise downloader. From what I have heard, linkvertise will not install malware or ads on your PC unless you click on the accept buttons which usually are big and easy to see meanwhile the decline buttons are small and hidden away. I still would not encourage anyone to open linkvertise installers as the way linkvertise makes money is by ads. I don't see why they would use a linkvertise installer to rat people, as most people would close the linkvertise installer and never reach the actual exe. They probably just downloaded a random AI Deepfake generator from github and strapped it into linkvertise in order to make money from downloads. Still, wouldn't trust them

Hi No Text To Speech! If you need to click a suspicious link, ALWAYS use TOR Browser! You probably already know it but it's wayyy better than clicking on these links via Chrome or Safari. Also, set TOR as your default browser, copying the link and then pasting it is also not a good idea... Because then on Chrome or Safari, websites can see your clipboard... about the reporting of people what sent u the link, i will not gonna report them cause they many times dont know something really happened. it happened to my friends even some randoms msg me, i just ping them and tell them to delete it cause one time when i fall for some scam :D my acc got deleted just cause of somebody report me for smth what i didnt do and what i didnt know about
eh, There's not much discord can do, if they somehow ban this one another one will emerge, it's more of users being aware, These scams are still functional because people are falling for it, Just don't click suspicious links and you'll be fine 95% of the time.

Last week one of my friends got hacked and kept spamming "wanna have some fun?" And a link to the scam server. I believe he scanned the code and the hacker got access to the account and unfriended everyone on the account. Days later he got banned and I haven't heard about my friend since then. I reported the server though so that's what I can do

just want to correct you at 4:45. Those flags are false positives. The zip file is from a service called “linkvertise” and it allows you to make money via links. The zip file contains an optional offer installer which shows 2 additional software before giving you the destination link. Just thought i would say this

i have a special folder for this kind of situation. Every time a scammer decides to post something me to, a really big smile appears on my face as i decide what images to post. *Needless to say, scammer will eventually have to look at what i sent, and they will not have a good day*
Some girl said I need to nuke a server and she sent me the server she said it will give u mod if u Verify I verified by Carl bot then they got my ip my email my phone number and everything then they started spamming my account then I unauthorized the bot then starting leaving the server (Then the server has changed to LGTBQ, Nsfw and other things)

One of my friends sent me the...e-thing invite to me, he doenst know english so i immediatly called him to be sure he was Fine. They didnt steal his account but he sent the invite to multiple people against his will, Thats what he claimed.
Scanning the qr code gives them the verify token, which is essentially the login credential they need to force their way into accounts. Just so you know, they can do a lot worse then just dm your friends if given the time. Though, if they dm your friends then they fall for it, then they are used to dm THEIR friends, and anyone with payment info could lose HUNDREDS of dollars from the scammer using their account to buy nitro.
One evening my Friends Account got hacked and a bot send me through his Account such a Server. I didnt knew he was hacked so i trusted him. I clicked on that "pRoN" Discord cause my Horns were big. I scanned the QR Code and ALMOST got hacked too. Basicly both of us changed our passwords fast enough. Now im carefull
