Ibom Deep sea Port: A Gateway to West and Central Africa. A PPP project designed for new Panamax vessels. The Ibom Deep sea Port is part of the Ibom Industrial City that comprises other key facilities including refineries, petrochemical and Afro-allied industries. It is strategically located in a Free Trade Zone to service not only Nigeria but the entire West and Central African Region.

Its a great project that should be able to transform the living standard of the state. Politics aside, this project may be the best port in Nigeria if fully implemented as designed. This is just the tip of the ice-berg. The potential of the south-south is yet to be tapped. Proud to see this happening. Wish more gigantic projects of this type will be unveiled in the coming years.

Fantastic initiative. Good to also hear the Fed Govt has approved this. Can't wait to see this happen. It's a major game changer for the state. Good to see the transport plans, the super highway and railway line. That railway line is critical to avoid future pressure on the roads. I'm extremely excited by this project. I also trust that the Maritime Academy is positioned to provide manpower development support for the port etc. This project can't happen soon enough!

@@osaobomhenefoghe8967 It's a PPP between the State Govt, Fed Govt and Private Sector. It was actually championed by the State and has been in the works for a couple of years. Initially the idea started as Ibaka Seaport under the previous administration but the location and name were subsequently changed. Federal Govt has to be involved because Ports fall within exclusive jurisdiction of the Federal Govt. So without FG support it would be DOA.

Don't know the feasibility or how this works with Lekki port which is in an advanced state. Having said that, the job of the government is to create infrastructure and an enabling environments. It is not to build factories and businesses so this is a good. Concentrate on Transportation, Schools and good governance. The private sector will do the rest.
