If that's wrong then I'm sorry you are welcome to your pathetic opinions about South Africans and we wont try to change them.
It's amazing how ppl in the United States will make u believe that Africa is full of poor people. They always show you the slums and ghettos but this is the first I've ever heard of Banana Island. Beautiful island in Nigeria. Lagos is amazing and Africa is amazing
Why was Mr Wigwe's picture used when the subject of discussion was Adeleke. The commentator sounded quite false trying to sound foreign. Maroko is not Moroko and so on. Please, be original in your delivery.
Is it just me or the neighborhood don't look siper rich for the price🤔, maybe it was the camera used.. but I only see a upper class neighborhood. Not a BILLIONAIRE paradise..🤷♂️.maybe ive seen better thats why
All that land and resources and Africans aren't figuring out how to build affordable homes with world class up to date infrastructure for the average everyday man, woman, and child??? All I'm seeing these days are overrated and overpriced vanity projects suited more for the ego than the true development and uplifting of a country and continent. There's catering to the rich and then there is serving the people. Countries, businesses, and individuals which serve the people are the most successful and the more people served the more successful. Those which cater to the rich are the most subservient. Just an observation
@@daPhenomenal dats also not factual his two surviving sons are in the US one of them is now rich again Remi Adeleke but at the time of the court case they lost their wealth
A sham country where millions of people are wallowing in poverty and insecurity and they want you and I to believe that Nigeria (location 419) is such a great nation...no way.
Lebanese people cant even build their own country so how can they build nigeria?? Do u know the poverty and hunger in libanon? Am a Gambian and i tell u nigerians number 1 in africa u like it or not!! south africa am not sure if we can call them africans and u figure out why if u have the menatl capacity
He didn't say lebanese. He said Nigerian lebanese. It's 2 Nigerian guys whose father is lebanese and mother Nigerian that are responsible for the development. They are the ones building Eko atlantic city

That's true but the only time I would be proud of my birth country is when it starts to export manufactured goods. Just flashy and fancy real estate doesn't do it for me.
@So African countries need good consultants that can help them understand how to market/advertise finished products in different countries. Until they learn to copy what works for the local companies in each market, they won't figure out how to drive sales of their products. But, building in-country manufacturing businesses has to be done. Other countries take advantage of African resources because of the lack of African local manufacturers, making finished marketable consumer products for export to other countries. China showed how it can be done.
They properties are over priced that is y their properties are not occupied. U look at this it doesn't even match properties in Durban, joburg or Capetown
Your average Nigerian lives in dire poverty without the basics of life, security, education etc. These buildings are meant for the small wealthy elites in the country
There are poor people in the US with thousands living on the streets yet America is the richest country in the world with some of the wealthiest people. There's poverty all over the world, what govt needs to do is provide social security measures to reduce it; but that won't stop estates like this being built cos Nigeria is a capitalist system and like most systems like that you have rich and poor
They did poor business with the architects therefore Ikoyi bad governance along with Aso Rock is the reason why they’re investigating THIS right now- despite any objections the UK N other investors are planning to takeover these very same things- just look 👀 at the history
I would have celebrated if Nigeria built 2 million toilet s, 8 hospitals, 3 universities etc.No jump to luxury while 100million are in dire poverty..Dont compare urself to SA, start from scratch and you will reach their level in 40- 50 yrs time
#Zwelaakhe_Zwane. You South African blacks are not even ashamed of yourselves. South africa built by White settlers and the economy is owned by White settlers. South africa is a white Country with a black head of State. You people should be ashamed of yourselves 😂😂😂
Depends on what you mean by "Western Media". If you are limiting your definition to US corporate media, you are correct, but Africa is not the only part of the world they overlook. Australia, Eastern Europe, most of Asia (including India) tend to be ignored as well. If you count Western Europe, then I disagree. European media (especially the BBC) does cover Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
@@steveconsultant4523 your response is right on point. I am referring to US media and to think about it, we never see any good news coming from those places you've mentioned apart from Australia. Thanks for an eye-opening response.
@@b.3940 When dealing with th US media, in general they follow the adage that "If it bleeds, it leads." American news is all about getting eyes to see advertisements. So if there was some great disaster on Banana Island (or Lagos, for that matter) and a lot of people died, then it would make the US news...for about a day. US News simply does not care if it is good news. For anyone, whether in Africa, in Australia, or in New York.
@Steve Consultant All facts, my friend. It's sad but true that American corporate media does not report on good news from Africa because, in my opinion, the main audience interested in such news would be the Black nationwide communities and the American media does not specifically targets that audience. The media there still caters to the white segments of the population. Everyone else gets whatever is shown. Africa is only highlighted when it's about US government officials' visits or the US military doing something or some great tragedy happening on the continent. Thank God for social media that has level the news awareness playing field.

Nice masoinets @ 09:17 terrible ghetto type blocks @ 09:23. The latter should be outlawed in Nigeria. The don't look good when new and only get progressively worse. We shouldn't adopt everything from the west and certainly not blocks of flats.
Overrated and overpriced, seen better in South Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles and all these are in Africa with better infrastructure. The initial developer that late chief would have done justice to his vision. Typically it was sabotaged and these losers want us to celebrate this mediocre development that is overpriced.
Stripping the Niger delta of all the natural resources (oil) to build fancy real estate while leaving the indigenous people of the Niger delta economically depressed, would get Nigeria nowhere. What happens when oil runs out or alternative reusable (green) energy sources replace petroleum eventually? Manufacturing is the backbone of any economy and Nigeria has none of that. When Nigeria can't even maintain 24/7 electricity, how can it support manufacturing? It is completely insane that $1 (USA) = N446.65 (NG) and I vaguely remember when $1.50 (USA) was equivalent to N1.00 (NG). The naira today is not even worth the paper it is printed on because those corrupt leaders have let run-away inflation drive the country's economy towards a cliff. So, forgive me if I say I am not impressed by all the flash with no sustainable economy to back it.
I don't know why Banana Island is so closed to the public and even then is mostly all residential with a few offices and I believe only a few shops. It should be one of the flagship tourism destinations of Lagos
@@shangothunder1055 apologies I thought it was a gated community. I still believe however banana island could/should have been built with more tourist amenities rather than the pure residential/office space it is now.

Do we really need all these expensive, incredible constructions for the rich while more than 80 million Nigerians live under the poverty line, and extra 40 million on the poverty line? ....while people can’t walk securely on Nigerian streets, while no free youth education with one free meal per child exists? Nigeria wake up before any serious social unrest happens. The gap between the rich and poor Nigerians is getting worse.

How could I live like this when my brothers and sisters are merely existing. I wish that these rich persons would ensure that water, electricity, schools and hospitals basic things are provided for the poor.
