A quick summary of the first 3 months of the GVR's Discover Ruapehu Rail Tours in conjunction with the Ruapehu Council and iSite.
We follow the train hauled by DBR 1254 from Ohakune, north up the stunning North Island Main Trunk Line and back home to Pukekohe in the Auckland region.
3 day weekend tours are scheduled every month, and provide an oppurtunity to explore the wonders of the region, with activities ranging from the Tongariro Crossing Walk to exploring Glow Worm Caves to even just exploring the local townships.
