The nicest of all horse breeds too. But I agree, there are lots of them around in the UK, I know several breeders. Their numbers were devastated after WW1 of course, but the quality is there and the numbers coming back simply because of their lovely temperament (look at that horse's eye), their hardiness, their all-round ability and good-natured willingness to have a bash at anything.
It's crazy how the horse population declined so much since the invention of automotive transportation. There was a time where at least 1 billion horses ran the earth.
its amazing how you speak loud yet softly at the same time, it really goes with the vid. i might get one of theses lol i rode one today at trent park equestrian centre called mCcoy on a hack lovely temperament and about 16.2 , gentle giant lol , manners and smooth seat to die for ! :).... , and on wednesday im riding an x police horse irish draught (full) called dooley whos about 17.2 me being 15 my dad was worried but the silverstone stables women sophia reassured him that he was amazing on a hack #CANTWAIT !!
The first horse I ever rode with an Irish draught horse. The barn I took lessons at in Wisconsin specialized in importing and breeding these horses and training them as Hunter jumpers and they used their retired show horses as lesson horses. Amazing horses :-)
