Twenty-year wig wearer here. I find that with the lace-front wigs these days, to really make them even more realistic is to tweeze the hairline a little, so that it is not so uniform. The vast majority of people with hair do not have a uniform hairline, and when it looks "too perfect" can make a wig look unnatural. JMHO. Also, using some kind of foundation powder or liquid foundation on the hairline can help with the visible knots.

I agree with your opinions on the brands you discussed. I do find wavy and curly wigs made from heat-friendly fibers are difficult to maintain without losing the style. I like it when reviewers clarify what they mean by the “density” of a wig. Sometimes they are referring to how much hair is on a wig. But sometimes they are talking about how much permatease there is. These are two different characteristics of a wig. A wig with a high density, meaning a lot of hair, can be thinned. But if the reviewer is using the term “density” to describe a lot of permatease, that cannot be fixed by thinning. In fact, it is difficult to reduce the “pouf” created by permatease. So I appreciate when a reviewer differentiates these two characteristics because one is much easier to address than the other. Thanks for your videos that are informative and educational.
I’ve been wearing wigs for years and I still find most wigs have way too much density at the front of the wig, Ellen Wille in my opinion seems to be less volume but they’ve been bringing out new wigs with more volume in more recent times. It’s hard to find the perfect wig.
I love my Ellen Ville wig. I am a new wig wearer. I'm in my 60's but unfortunately my hair is thinning out more than it ever has before. My hair refuses to turn gray though, 😄. I chose Ellen's Daily. It's so cute! Now my head measures 221/2 and it fits comfortable. I also prefer low density wigs. I just purchased Raquel Welch's "trensetter" and I was able to wear it out of the box, because it didn't envelope my face. I really like it!😊

Totally agree with you on all of this. I actually try to stay away from RW because I can't not go two hours with out her fibers tangling. Love everything else but the fibers. I am doing a review on EW movie star rn and yes, she is a little snug. I am only 21.25 cir. Totally agree. Great video!!!!!
Spot on about the sizing. I'm petite/average and noriko's sometimes snug. EW good. Sometimes too big from the ear to ear making it painful to wear. And you're right about JR being the most consistent in size. I can always wear a JR.

You touched on it briefly with BELLE tresse, but I’d like to know which brand tangles the least for long wigs. I find Belle Tresse City Collection, long wigs, tangle a lot even right out of the box. Doing a bit on this would be really helpful. But all in all this was a very helpful video. Thank you.
I love your videos...this one is one of the best. I am a very new wig wearer. I have a 21 1/4-inch head,14 inches from forehead to nape, and 12 inches from ear to ear. I usually buy an average, most seem to ride up in the back and I am constantly pulling. I love pixies. So far I have bought 2 hand-tied but they run really small. Also among brands, I wanted to find out which fibers feel the best in the different brands. You are the only video I saw that talks about the different brands. I do not have a lot of money so I want to make the best choice. I bought a lot of Paula Young wigs and the fibers seem pretty close. (with a lot less money) I am trying to get higher-end pieces but all the brands are confusing. Thank you.
Good morning Amanda. I’m in the market for my first wig. I’m torn between Dagona 16 Hand Tied and RW Wavy Day. Comfort, quality and color are my most important factors. And I want the wig to look as realistic as possible. As for color I’m looking for something similar to Jennifer Lopez colored/high lighted hair. It’s so difficult to choose from tiny swaps. Can you please help me? What is the closest color (to JLo) in the two wigs I mentioned? Also which of the two wigs would you recommend based on the preferences I mention above? Dalgona has less volume and its hand tied cap is super comfortable. If you go with this one, Mocha with Cream would be a good color. If you choose Wavy Day, Iced Cafe Latte would be a good color.
Hello Amanda - Great video, very informative #chiquelholiday #chiquelgiveaway. You do, honestly, look great in everything that you put on - seriously even some of the toppers that I have seen you put on when you are showing them in the sale videos. We could all be so lucky to look good in anything - what I have been noticing though - is that even the same color, same brand can look different on different wig styles - this is starting to become quite a challenge. I am a cool tone and would love to see some choices with brunette colors for Belle Tress in upcoming videos - I know you probably have a ton of requests. Have a great day! ❤
Some of Ellen Willie hand tied wigs do use this "back teasing" technique at the base of the cap which feels like permatease IMO. In fact some of her wigs will have quite a bit of it. For me it can make the wig feel a bit ratty. Fame is one of such wigs. Reviewers forget to mention this back teasing technique although I have heard Taz mention it in a few of her reviews. Hopefully wig reviewers will begin to mention this teasing technique in the future. 🙂
Yes, some of Ellen Wille's wigs do have the permatease in it. But I find the majority are low density at least. I try my best to mention the permatease in all of my reviews. :)
The 1st wig, Avelon/Estetica had great hairline. Question: Can’t they just bleach the knots and not bleach all that fiber at the hairline? And seems they make the lace too white at same time. They didn’t do the white hairline on your Dolce-Dolce. Much better. Unless I’m not seeing something. Like bad temple to temp transition. I tuck my hair behind my ears a lot. It’s automatic for me to push my hair off my face. But I like to wear it down, long and contoured away from my face or tucked behind ear - That’s how I was with my bio hair. I wish I could let fibers sit along the side of my face. It’d be easier to find a wig 😊 Thanks for your help.
