In this video we look for less obvious photography spots as I take a walk along a lake. We also found a secret garden.

Really nice - I love how you start to piece together a study of the area, creating a kind of beautiful world to explore through image after image. Each is lovely as a stand alone photograph, but as a series or collection, they start to become an immersive experience. Lovely.

This was rather inspiring.Martin takes great pictures in places we can all access. He doesn't need far flung exotic places. Makes me want to try the same. That must be the mark of a good RU-vidr.

Greetings from Albania. Nearly finished my second week. Your lady must have the patience of a saint, shadowing you as went about your business. 🙂 You look like a couple of retired Ninjas 😀 I come from Appleby which is spitting distance from the Lake District, you should stop there if you're going by car, it's a beautiful small town. Thanks for the video mate, always inspiring! There's only one colour. CFC.

We are a couple of retired ninjas 🤣 how did you guess! Funny enough we made a very similar comment to this ourselves haha. Well I hope you are behaving yourself there. We go past Appleby often on the way into the lakes so I might stop by at some point t then and have a look about!

Hi Martin, such a casual and effective way to capture what you see amongst the chaos, loved the processing of the images.

it was fun, but hard filming and taking photos together, hard to concentrate properly on either but loved being there.

Hi Martin. This wonderful video took me back to when I was kid and used sneak into the Kensal Green Cemetery that was nearby with my mates to explore. I was back there recently and realised how corrupted my vision of what I was seeing had become as an adult compared to what I remembered seeing as a child. More of these thought provoking videos be appreciated. Enjoy the rest of your week.

Great content from someone who lives in an area of the US where from November to April we are in clouds, not the misty nice to photograph but the mid-gray flat light ones. A good day is when there is a snow storm coming across Lake Ontario and dark clouds are foreboding and dramatic. Nice to see your approach.

cute planet of yours: your snow is green... thanks for the inspiration... forests have always been a good place for me; unfortunately since the huge tempest on November in West Brittany, it's quite chaotic here and even a perilous adventure

I wish i had your eyes 👀 for woodland composition.I saw your video on the Canon 40d and how you wanted to bring it back in a video just to show what fun 😊 a photographer could have with it . Question is would you recommend a Canon 40D for a intermediate photographer just for fun?

I really like taking out my 5D mk IV with just my nifty 50 sometimes. On Saturday I took my 2 whippets to a local hill fort where I can let them run. I took a combination of shots of them running plus some landscape shots. The 50 worked really well for the shots!

For the dark green moss scene, try in camera HDR set at +/- 3 stops bracketing shooting RAW, your result will be a JPEG. You need your camera on a tripod as one of the exposures could be quite long - in the seconds. And set your ISO to AUTO.
