This song by the rap line is about when they were considering disbanding back in 2018. Not because there were any team issues, but because they were just exhausted. They'd been going non-stop since 2013, and when their popularity exploded globally and so fast, it was a bit overwhelming. When the rap line shared the song with the other members they all cried together. Thankfully they chose to stay together in the end. What makes them so strong is how they support each other through the good and bad times. Their bond is unbreakable due to all the shit and hate they had to go through in the beginning, and even some today. 💜
The song is directed towards the 7 members of bts. Back in 2018 while they were under pressure from all the sucess, their mental health took a toll and each of them considered disbanding the group. But at the same time they couldn't just break up the group like that, they spend their youth as bts. The song is about all the mixed feelings they had toward each other. If you read the lyric translation at one go you will notice that entire song is how the 3 members interpret the word Goodbye. For RM, it means tears, for suga it means tearing apart and for jhope its a fear. So the songs basically an emotional exploration of how they perceived the idea of the band breaking up.
The reason why at this time they were thinking about disbanding was the fact that their contract was about to run out. The question was if they wanted to renew or not. I'm happy that they found the strength for going on as a group.

Lovely looking dog. When the BTS member's were so physically and mentally exhausted they talked about disbanding and the Rappers wrote TEAR to say what that would mean to them. They played it and all the members cried together and vowed not to disband because really they didn't want to disband they just needed some time to recover and took a week off instead.
