Through our video, we have tried to look at the changing depiction of Columbus as a historical character, as well as his so called ‘conquest’ as a historical event, in both print and visual media. The source for our said observations has been the detailed account of the first two voyages in “The Four Voyages of Columbus”, as well as several documentaries: some of which have been produced as early as 1990s to as late as 2023. Through these sources, we curated out own comparative analysis, a brief summary of which will be given here. Lastly, our attempt was to analyse every aspect of the voyage through both the vantage point of views, just to get a better understanding of how time and changing tides of history have influenced the portrayal of the same historical event.
