Fun fact: GFriend made the the 2x music challenge in weekly idol which is a show in Korea. And also before the trend were girl groups were having hard and synchronized choreography GFriend a 3rd gen group were already known for their hard choreo during their debut, their choreo were probably not a hard choreo for a dancer but it is hard especially for girl groups during that time. Their choreo were very sharp in early era that's why they were called a girl group with sharp-knife choreo and they were also known because of they synchronization. Their choreo were always have been hard, sharp, clean, synchronized, and fluid.

So happy you’re reacting to them. GFRIEND definitely went through a transformation. Apple and Mago were their final 2 releases and are not typical, in comparison to the rest of their title tracks. Most of them are more similar to Navillera. Apple and Mago were after SourceMusic was acquired by HYBE. Navillera is not their debut. It’s their 4th title track. Their debut, Glass Bead, definitely gives off SNSD Into The New World vibes too but I wouldn’t say I could see SNSD singing it, since SNSD doesn’t really have a signature sound. The synths are definitely on purpose to give off a more nostalgic vibe, in Navillera. Would definitely recommend checking out more of them. My suggestions for another trio would be: Me Gustas Tu, Rough and Sunrise. Would suggest reading about them too because they were one of the 1st kpop groups that did album trilogies. Like, this set is this story and this set is a different story.

Sinb is the groups main dancer, indeed but the girls really can dance down!!! and their debut song is Glass Bead. Check out Rough, which is one of their most known songs from their earlier days, Sunrise, Fever and Labyrinth. You'll get to see a lot of the groups versatility from these

when I tell you Apple is one of my favorites kpop songs 🗣️ the whole combo: production, vocals, visuals, choreo and storyline is giving masterpiece!!! I just feel happy AF everytime I listen to it cuz it's like everything feels so correct, it's exactly what I love to hear/see the girls serving

I think Gfriend and Twice are two girl groups who seamlessly made the transition from their earlier bubble gum pop sounds to more mature sounds and concepts. They continued to grow which helped them maintain their large fan bases.

Their first song 'Glass bead' sounds similar to Snsd's ITNW plus a member, Sinb who has a face that looks like Jessica Jung. Gfriend's old songs also has the 2nd gen kpop sound. Congratulations on finding Gfriend! And you do know what you want in your music. Your comments about the synth in "Navillera" just cracked me up 😆 Gfriend's vocal is stacked as you said. Their main vocal, Yuju, is a rare gem and everyone else can carry her own water as well. Great comments on choreo. You really show your experience in dance with your comments. Gfriend is known in the Kpop industry as the queens of synchronization, but your insight on their uniform control of their movements, including those slower ones, really tells the full story. Gfriend's choreo is a pure joy to watch every single time. They don't move like a collection of good dancers but a single entity of different parts with equal energy and precision. I Love watching their dance practices when you can obsever all their movement, position transition and formation changes. Satisfying is the word for the audience. BTW, you are correct that SinB is the main dancer in the group. And she is hilarious.

“Apple” is definitely one of my favorite title track releases. (And just a favorite song in general.) During my first listen/watch, the guitar at the start made me actually say, “…Jeff Buckley?” I can play guitar but I wish I was a proper guitarist, just so that I could do a Jeff Buckley-inspired cover of the song. For anyone unfamiliar, look into “Grace” for an understanding of my comparison.

SinB and Eunha (both in VIVIZ) have the same legal name "Eunbi" it's part of the reason why they're named VIVIZ (bibiji in korean) both "Bi"s come from their names and the "Ji" comes from Umji's name (last syllable of their names)

Yes, they're known as synchronization queens (literally you can google it lol) GFRIEND's clean and amazing choreos in the reason girl groups are breaking their bones nowadays on stage, they really changed the game in kpop. You can check any mv, the choreos are always amazing. They're also very talented, hardworking girls and sooo funny, their bond and love for each other is the most precious thing ever. Crossroads has an AMAZING choreo that i think you would love. its one of the most satisfying choreos ive seen in kpop for sure. it has the fast, slow, intricate moves that you pointed out. i get emotional thinking about it sometimes because of the meaning behind it as well. hope you get into them more!

Love Whisper is among the most difficult choreography in KPOP girl groups. Please react to that dance practice if you can.

My first impression of "Mago" was the complete opposite of yours in regards to the song itself. I love, love, love disco music. So, any song that has disco influence is gonna have me as a fan right away. I like "Navillera" because of that synth sound. "Apple" is actually my least favorite song of theirs.

Ok I would recommend something special. These are the moments what makes Gfriend kind of Special. I myself is a SNSD fan. After watching these I somehow becomes proud of them and admire them and become their fan. So here is my recommendation. GFriend falling on stage. This one is kind of painfull to watch for every fans but very inspiring. The stage they were performing was slippery and there are a lot of bugs flying around too. You should definitely check out Yuju & Eunha's b-side track Night Drive from the Walpurgis Night album, I think that's a song you would like a lot. Also, Yuju's solo work and covers are really good I recommend checking that out! A lot of Gfriend's earlier choreographies were very high energy and footwork heavy. They were known for their synchronized knife-like sharpness in their dance, which people found surprising in a group that had a Brighter "cuter" concept in that time. The image they had with Navillera was what Gfriend was typically known for, but over the years, they did slowly move away from the school girl image in to a more mature image that you saw with Apple and Mago. Though they did disband last year, as you saw in Queendom, SinB, Eunha, and Umji have redebuted as VIVIZ. Yuju made a solo debut earlier this year and Yerin also made a solo debut just last week.

you may not know this but gfriends choreographer is the same teacher of snsd. she said for gfriend she wanted to give them a snsd vibe but stronger because she knew gfriend could dance, navillera is one of their easier dances back then, their harder dances are glass bead, love whisper, time for the moon night. those are the harder title track, but I recommend you listen to windy windy, sunrise and glass bead those are their vocal songs, listen to the audio because for windy windy the audio on the fancam you can't hear it very well.

these aren’t even their BEST work. my favorite dances from them would be rough, love whisper and fingertip. as for the music, time for the moon night, sunrise and crossroads take the cake for me, and the choreos to those songs go hard too

Heard you humming into the new world over navillera dance practice, but the song that really evokes that feel is their actual debut ‘glass bead’. Edit: my favorite gfriend b-side track is rainbow. Do check it out if you decide to cover b-sides.
